Chapter 95: Lost In Time

A long time had passed since those two had faced each other.

After leaving the Inbox City, Jung had to wait for HugeP to arrive, and his waiting finally ended.

The player no longer looked like a lanky kid.

He projected confidence through the courage to act and speak his mind.

Standing before Jung, he bowed his head and said, "We meet again, sir."

There were waves of players behind him.

He made a guild and brought them to meet the famous Balatro, the man who was their true overlord.

Jung glanced at HugeP and then at the players the man had selected.

’Damn, that’s a lot,’ he thought.

The entire street became two times as crowded.

All the other players were nowhere to be seen, as if HugeP and his crew drove them away.

"It’s good to see you," Jung said. "I’m proud of the progress you made."

"It’s thanks to you," the boy answered.

He was a Tier V hero, a rank that no other player bore.

At least the ones Jung had encountered.

His success stemmed from the status he enjoyed as Balatro’s right-hand man.

Not only was he respected, but people followed him, hoping that one day they could meet Jung.

Finally, the time had come, and the wish was fulfilled.

"What did you call the guild?" Jung asked with huge expectations.

"Balatro Order," the boy said proudly.

It was the second time he was asked for the name, but this time he didn’t stutter.

As for Jung, he almost facepalmed himself.

"That’s a dumb, awful, and tasteless name, but that’s okay. I can live with that."

He didn’t hide his disappointment, considered it not so carefully, and added,

"I have special pills. Not at this moment, but members can get them with discounts."

Hearing his statement, HugeP’s face lit up.

"Thank you for your grace," he said.

Nothing could beat the riches one could get from the most peculiar NPC.

Jung on the other hand, didn’t even care that he was going to curse his workforce.

They were his tamed troop, and he saw nothing wrong with that.

It wasn’t like those pills would cripple their accounts, and they could benefit from it as well.

The entire tier boosts weren’t bad.

So he was hell-bent on abusing them to the limit.

Then HugeP observed Jung for a minute and said,

"If you have free time, do you want to come with us? We were about to raid the Low Tree dungeon near the city."

’I see.’

The realization struck Jung.

"Something will happen in that dungeon, and that’s why you wanted me here."

He said to the system, guessing her plan.

[You aren’t wrong. Agree and go with him.]

Vex spoke calmly.

"I have some time to spare," he said and glanced at Snowshade.

She never left his side, and acting like a guardian, she protected him from the unseen threat.

"It’s too dangerous. We don’t know what might happen there."

Snowshade’s foremost priority was to guarantee his safety.

Going to the dungeon with immortals around was the exact opposite of that.

She didn’t approve of this decision, even if the Low Tree dungeon was relatively risk-free.

[Bring her with you. You need her.]

The system rang in his head as Snowshade continuously rambled about how dangerous it would be for him to go.

"And that’s why I had to leave Lilia behind. What if I brought her with me?" Ignoring the woman, he asked.

[Nothing good would come out of it. Now agree with that loser and go with him.]

Vex said in a hurry, even using the term ’loser’ and bringing a sense of joy to Jung’s face.

"You are with me. I am not afraid."

He stated, locking eyes with Snowshade and startling her with his words.

As for Jung, he patted HugeP’s shoulder and said, "She is my attendant—a butler of sorts—and respect her just as much as me. The same goes for my cat, but you guys should know her already."

Then he let the boy lead the way.

He strolled casually with his guild.

The guild he didn’t create, nourish, or look after.

Yet all of them appeared thrilled to be in his presence, and he had to shush them every time they attempted to strike up a conversation with him.

The trip lasted more than an hour.

Of course, Nero protested the whole time.

"Ask him how long we need to walk!" she demanded.

"You are sitting on my shoulders. Have some dignity," Jung scolded the cat.

Another hour later, they left the city, crossed a small part of the forest, and reached gigantic tree fields.

Evergreen and tall flora covered the horizon.

The sun was about to set, creating dazzling scenery.

Jung, Snowshade, and Nero didn’t care about that.

But the players were a romantic bunch, and they enjoyed nature before HugeP announced.

"This is our glorious and most awaited moment. We are going to raid our first dungeon with Balatro. Let’s applaud and thank him for agreeing to come here."

His words were shallow, barely stirring Jung’s heart, but when the one hundred and eight players screamed and clapped in unison, even his cold heart was touched.

He grinned widely.

He was content with how everything worked out for him.

Without further ado, he signalled HugeP and arrived at the entrance.

It was an ordinary wooden frame.

No door or gate separated the real world from this different dimension.

Everyone crossed the entrance, and just as they reached the staircase, the world darkened.

Jung didn’t find time to ask questions.

The system giggled in his mind, creating sinister premonitions.

The darkness swallowed everyone.

It didn’t let them escape and dulled all their senses.

Yet, Jung felt Nero’s touch and Snowshade’s distant presence.

He also heard the system repeating one sentence over and over until his ears picked it up.

[Time dilation occurred—four years passed in the real world.]

"What the—"

[Ding!]

He wanted to question, but Vex spoke again.

This time, her voice was loud and clear.

[You fell into the ruler god’s realm. I corrected the flow of time, but four years had already passed in Maskera.]

She laughed.

But it wasn’t a heartfelt chuckle.

Her voice sounded grim, signifying her worry and the gravity of the situation.

As Jung tried to collect his thoughts, another quest notification echoed in his head.

[Ding!]
