’I am getting tired of this long-ass text,’ Jung protested but read it to the last word.
He also noticed that his archetype progress was increased by 3%.
It was purely because of the acting.
Yet, he wasn’t expecting that and was quite surprised to see that acting still caused his growth.
’Keeper,’ Jung repeated, guessing what had stirred his improvement.
Then he noted his new Arc.
"Sounds sinister," he said firmly, and read its description.
<Keep Corpse
-Every corpse you have made is a gate for you to travel.
"And now you are back with your shitty descriptions." Jung spat.
[Try it wherever you can. You will love it,] the system said promptly.
"Sure," he answered nonchalantly, thinking to himself. ’Is it like a portal for me to move through?’
He had to wait for experimentation.
There were no corpses around him, and only Nero sat comfortably on his shoulders.
As Jung descended from the hill, he saw players were still napping.
Snowshade couldn’t be seen. She left no leads, and Vex didn’t explain either.
Nearing the players, Jung started cursing pills.
He had a lot to do besides fighting or searching for a way out.
Merging pills was one of his highest priorities, but this time he wanted to devour them himself.
Still, he cursed them first for his guild.
Meanwhile, an hour passed, and they showed no signs of waking up.
The blizzard became intolerably strong, blocking the scenery.
Thankfully, he sat on a plateau near the hill, and he was relatively safe from the snow.
Another hour went by, and Jung stopped cursing the damned pills.
’It’s time for me to spoil myself,’ he thought and decided to start his merging journey.
He was 22% away from the next tier.
With thousands of pills to work with, he had a pretty good chance of reaching it.
Time and their low rank were the sole hurdles.
Knowing that he wouldn’t lose motivation and players might wake up at any second, he reached out to his inventory and took dozens of pills.
For this occasion, he selected a hero archetype.
Instead of the usual ten or fifteen, he started with forty, and holding nothing back, he mushed them together.
The process was gradual.
Slow at times, but quick and demanding at others.
His perception and even persona control were boosted and mixed with his increased understanding of the pills, he was more precise than ever.
Hours ticked by, and work consumed him.
Yet, with unwavering determination, Jung manifested mostly Goated pills.
Even his success rate was countless times higher, and he failed only three out of ten times.
The boost the pills got and the knowledge he was gaining made it well worth it.
Another two hours later, he was done with the hero archetype.
But before he started swallowing them, he wanted to try something.
"What if I merged the pills I made? It’s going to enchant them even further, right?"
Muttering to himself, Jung touched the Goated pills, governing their persona and linking them together.
It proved to be harder than he thought.
The merged items had more chaotic and potent energy inside them, and outright ruling over them lowered his chances.
A new challenge appeared.
The hard hurdle he had to overcome, and he practised without giving up, wasting a couple of Goated pills on the side.
Finally, after four failures, he created a new pill.
It was made by merging five previous creations, and the result spoke for itself.
[Max Goated Pill]
-The apex of pills, with far greater quality than ever seen before.
"Neat!" Jung said, devouring it on the spot.
He was expecting some kind of divine or magical feeling, and it didn’t disappoint.
His internal persona stirred.
The entire energy supply danced in his being, causing a mixture of warmth and coolness.
Only for a second did his headache subside.
Then he glanced at his progress bar and smiled upon seeing the entire 2% increase.
He had to pay a steep price for it, but because he was using poor-quality pills and got this outcome, he couldn’t just complain.
"My head!" he exclaimed, rubbing his forehead. "Nero, come sit with me."
The cat yawned lazily but fulfilled his request.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"Nothing... I just want to pet you before I continue my production," he said.
As Jung floated in her fluffiness and conveyed his energy back, he observed another bundle of Goated capsules.
"Let’s keep going," he said and merged them.
There was no night or day in the realm.
He couldn’t accurately tell the passage of time, but exhaustion was catching up to him when he completely exhausted his entire supply.
It wasn’t only a hero archetype.
The explorer, wizard, and rebel pills were used too.
Yet he was still one percent away from advancement.
He was about to start grinding with other archetype pills to practice harvesting energy from them, even if he hadn’t unleashed that archetype, when his ears picked up changes in the players’ breathing patterns.
"They are awake," he said.
An ugly smile spread on his face.
Their presence would give him answers to his questions, and above all, he could finally bully them to his heart’s content.
"Wakey-wakey!" he called loudly, frightening half-asleep players.
