Chapter 54: "Miles and Ethan Wedding"

The Next Morning...

Bast groaned as a sharp pain throbbed in his head. The morning light streamed through the window, landing on his face. He rubbed his temple and blinked slowly, trying to adjust to the brightness.

As he sat up, fragments of the night before rushed back to him. He furrowed his brows, piecing together how he got home—then remembered.

Bast (to himself): "Kai... Kai brought me home."

Panic sparked in his chest. He looked around but didn’t see Kai in the room. He quickly got up and walked out.

Downstairs, Miles and Kai were sitting at the breakfast table. Bast descended the stairs, glancing to the side—just in time to see Ethan walking out of the guest room, eyes swollen and red from crying.

Bast headed toward the table and approached Kai.

Bast (softly): "Kai..."

Kai didn’t respond.

Bast quietly sat beside him. Miles placed a bowl of soup in front of Bast and said with a calm but firm voice:

Miles: "It’ll help your hangover headache."

Ethan rubbed his eyes and joined them, sitting beside Miles. Without looking at him, Miles pushed a bowl of soup toward Ethan.

Ethan looked at him quietly.

Ethan (gently): "Miles... I’m sorry."

Bast turned to Kai and carefully took his hand.

Bast: "I’m sorry, baby."

Kai finally looked at him. His eyes were sharp—cold and dangerous.

Bast blinked, trying to act innocent.

Bast (with a soft pout): "Next time, I won’t do that. I promise."

Ethan quickly wrapped his arms around Miles’ waist and said, pleading:

Ethan: "Milk, I’m sorry. I won’t drink like that again. Please... I’m really sorry."

Miles let out a quiet sigh.

Miles: "It’s okay. But next time, at least tell me if you’re going out for drinks. And please answer my calls."

Ethan: "I will. I promise. I won’t do that again."

He hugged Miles tighter.

Miles (gently patting his back): "Eat your soup. It’ll help your headache."

Bast looked at Kai again.

Bast: "Kai..."

Kai met his eyes and finally spoke, voice calm but deadly serious.

Kai: "Don’t ever do that again. If you do... I’ll never forgive you."

A Few Days Later...

Finally, the long-awaited day arrived—Ethan and Miles’ wedding.

Ethan looked like the perfect groom, dressed in a sharp, tailored suit, his smile radiating confidence and joy. Beside him, Miles looked absolutely adorable—soft, elegant, and glowing with happiness. Together, they were a picture-perfect couple.

In another room, Kai adjusted his outfit in front of the mirror. He looked stunning, dressed to perfection. Bast stood beside him, equally dashing in his suit.

Bast (smiling as he looked at Kai): "You look beautiful in this dress."

Kai turned to him with a soft smile and began fixing Bast’s tie.

Kai: "And you look handsome."

Bast wrapped an arm around Kai’s waist, pulling him close.

Bast (whispering): "Finally... After their marriage, it’s our turn. We’ll get married soon."

Kai gently pushed him away, chuckling.

Kai: "Okay, okay. Let’s go. We’re getting late."

Bast (grinning): "Alright, alright. Let’s go."

They stepped into the wedding venue—and it looked like a dream. Pink flowers decorated the entire space, creating a soft and romantic atmosphere. Along the walls, beautiful pictures captured memories of Ethan and Miles throughout their relationship.

As they walked in, Bast looked around in admiration.

Bast: "Kai... which flower do you like the most? I want our wedding decorations to use your favorite."

Kai (without hesitation): "White roses."

Bast (smiling warmly): "White roses it is. I can’t wait for our wedding."

They made their way toward Ethan, who was speaking with some guests. Bast approached him first.

Bast: "Hey, Ethan. You look handsome today."

Ethan (smiling): "Thanks, Bast."

Kai: "Where’s Miles?"

Ethan: "He’s still in the changing room, getting ready."

Kai: "Alright, I’ll go see him."

With that, Kai turned and walked off to find Miles, leaving Bast and Ethan smiling after him.

Kai entered the dressing room and paused for a moment when he saw Miles standing in front of the mirror.

Kai (smiling brightly): "Whoooh... You look like a cute angel."

Miles turned around, visibly anxious.

Miles: "Kai, I don’t think I look good... Look at my face. This hairstyle doesn’t suit me."

The dresser nearby chimed in with a warm tone.

Dresser: "Mr. Miles, you look very handsome today. You’re just nervous—that’s why you’re doubting yourself."

Kai stepped forward and placed a reassuring hand on Miles’ shoulder.

Kai: "Miles, you look amazing. Don’t be nervous."

He paused for a moment and then asked gently:

Kai: "Did your Mom come today?"

Miles looked down, his voice soft.

Miles: "Nope... Like always, she’s busy and didn’t come."

Kai pulled him into a hug, holding him warmly.

Kai: "Don’t worry. I’m here with you."

Miles hugged him back, resting his chin on Kai’s shoulder.

Miles: "Thank you, Kai... for everything. You gave me the warmth of a family. Thank you so much."

Kai pulled back just enough to look into Miles’ eyes.

Kai: "I’m really happy to have a friend—and a brother—like you, Miles."

Miles’ eyes welled up with emotion, and he blinked back his tears.

Kai (smiling softly): "Don’t be nervous. You look great."

Miles (smiling through the tears): "Thanks, Kai."

The guests had finally taken their seats. A soft romantic melody flowed from the piano, filling the hall with warmth and emotion. Ethan stood on the stage, the lights gently shining down on him, casting a glow around his perfectly tailored suit and calm expression.

Then, the doors opened.

Miles appeared, dressed in a beautiful off-white suit, a delicate bouquet of pink roses held tightly in his hands. He walked slowly down the aisle, eyes locked on Ethan’s. Ethan stepped forward and extended his hand with a soft smile. Miles reached for it, and together, they stepped onto the stage, now standing face to face.

Ethan (softly): "You look so beautiful."

Miles smiled shyly, his eyes glistening.

In the crowd, Bast and Kai sat side by side. Kai’s eyes shimmered with emotion, unable to hold back the tears.

Kai (whispering): "They look so beautiful together..."

Bast gently took his hand and gave it a small squeeze.

Bast: "Yes... they really do."

The officiant stepped between Ethan and Miles, his voice calm and warm.

Officiant: "Ethan Hayes, are you ready to take Miles Carter as your life partner? To smile with him, to cherish him, to give him all the happiness you can, and promise never to leave him alone?"

Ethan’s gaze never left Miles.

Ethan (with certainty): "I do."

Then the officiant turned to Miles.

Officiant: "Miles Carter, are you ready to take Ethan Hayes as your life partner? To care for him, to cherish him, and to never leave his side?"

Miles’ eyes welled with tears of pure happiness.

Miles (smiling through tears): "I do."

"As Miles and Ethan exchanged their wedding rings, the guests erupted into joyful applause, celebrating the love that brought them together."

Officiant (smiling): "I now pronounce you husband and husband. Ethan, you may kiss your husband."

Without hesitation, Ethan pulled Miles into a soft, heartfelt kiss. The entire room erupted into smiles, soft applause, and happy tears. The love between them filled the air—undeniable, real, and forever.

The ceremony had ended, and now it was time for one of the most anticipated traditions—Miles holding the bouquet in his hands, standing center stage with a shy but excited smile.

Bast (leaning close to Kai, teasing): "If the flowers come to you, the next wedding is ours."

Kai smiled softly, cheeks warming at the thought.

Miles glanced back at the gathered guests, gave a playful wink, and tossed the bouquet high into the air.

Everyone reached up, a mix of laughter and excitement filling the room. Kai lifted his hands half-heartedly—but the flowers didn’t land in his grasp.

Instead, he turned just in time to see the bouquet land neatly in someone else’s hands.

His eyes widened in surprise.

Kai: "Rico...?"

There he stood—Rico, just as stunned as everyone else, holding the delicate bouquet in his hands. He looked around awkwardly, not sure what to say.

Kai burst out laughing, clapping his hands once.

Kai (grinning): "Rico! The next marriage is yours!

Rico blinked, hesitating as he murmured, "The whole wedding thing... it’s not really my type." He tried to hide the blush rising to his cheeks.

Kai (teasing): "Come on!"

Bast wrapped an arm around Kai’s waist and smirked.

Bast: "I don’t care if you caught the flowers or not. What matters is, the next wedding is ours."

His eyes flicked toward Rico.

Rico (whispering under his breath): "Ugh... this old geezer again, always showing off."

Rico cleared his throat and said aloud, "I’m going to congratulate Ethan and Miles."

He sighed and walked off.

Kai (struggling slightly): "Bast, let me go. People are watching!"

Bast: "I don’t care."

He leaned in, trying to kiss Kai.

Kai (pushing him gently): "I’m going to Miles."

Meanwhile, Rico approached Ethan and Miles with a polite smile.

Rico: "Congratulations, both of you. May your married life be as happy as heaven."

Miles (smiling): "Thanks, Rico."

Ethan: "Thank you."

Rico nodded and turned to leave, but as he glanced around, his eyes landed on Jeff standing near a table. His face flushed immediately.

Jeff walked up, eyeing the bouquet still in Rico’s hand.

Jeff (grinning): "So... does this mean the next groom is you?"

Rico’s face turned a deeper red. He quickly set the bouquet down on the table.

Rico: "I don’t believe in those silly traditions."

Jeff leaned closer, lowering his voice as he cupped a hand over Rico’s ear.

Jeff (softly): "So tell me... are you in a relationship now, or not?"
