Chapter 3567: The Everstone Discourse

There were some rumors floating throughout the Spirit Nidus that claimed that the invincible being had been fabricated by the High Seraph in order to maintain control over the Spirit Nidus. Even Yu Shan's senior brother, Yu Chong, had insisted that the being was made up. Only those at a certain level knew that the Immortal was real.

Even Old Yu, despite knowing about the invincible being’s existence, had never seen them, even after living for so many years.

Lu Yin’s sudden mention of the invincible being, as well as within the context of the High Seraph, caused the old man’s instincts to flare.

"Do you know where the invincible being is?" Old Yu asked, his tone suddenly different.

Lu Yin retorted, "So, now you’re certain that they actually exist?"

"Are you telling me that the High Seraph can’t be pushed to his limits because of the invincible being?" Old Yu’s eyes flashed. "Is it that you don't have any real leverage on the High Seraph, but rather that he hasn’t done anything to you because of the invincible being?"

Lu Yin was impressed. "Clever. Now, with this foundation, we can have a real conversation. Of course, that all depends on whether or not you believe me."

Did Old Yu believe Lu Yin? Of course he did. It was impossible for him to not believe such a thing, as who else could stop the High Seraph from attacking Boundless?

Old Yu understood the High Seraph all too well.

One after another, the titles of the Seven Seraphs had been given to those chosen by the High Seraph. All of it was done to fully control the Spirit Nidus.

In the past, the Wisdom Domain had been allowed to have a Seraph, but ever since the current High Seraph had risen to power, he had made it clear that he would neither allow nor tolerate a Seraph emerging from the Wisdom Domain. The man had completely disregarded the wishes of everyone in the Spirit Nidus.

He was too oppressive a ruler.

How could such a domineering person have continued to allow Boundless, whose very existence violated the order of the Spirit Nidus, to continuously act against him? How could the High Seraph allow the Tianyuan Megaverse to stand against him?

The claim that the High Seraph was putting on a show to recruit top experts from the Tianyuan Megaverse was complete nonsense. Boundless was already carrying that megaverse’s greatest cultivators. None who had stayed behind surpassed those who had come to the Spirit Nidus.

In fact, the Wisdom Domain had been constantly analyzing the situation to determine what sort of leverage Lu Yin had over the High Seraph. But despite Old Yu’s years of wisdom and experience, he was unable to determine anything.

With Lu Yin’s current claim, Old Yu finally understood that the leverage he had been searching for simply did not exist. The thing actually protecting Boundless was the invincible being. This also explained why the invincible being had not appeared in so many years; they had been in the Tianyuan Megaverse.

This perfectly aligned with Old Yu’s earlier suspicions.

"Has the invincible being always been in the Tianyuan Megaverse?"

Lu Yin smiled. "Indeed."

"What’s your relationship with them?" Old Yu stared intently at Lu Yin’s image as a terrifying thought crossed his mind. Could this young man be the invincible being’s disciple? If not for that, how could someone so young have gained such strength?

As for the goals of the Spirit Nidus and the Tianyuan Megaverse, what did such things matter to the invincible being?

Lu Yin acted mysterious. "I don’t want to say any more about that. But to be blunt, the invincible being gave the High Seraph a death order: to not touch me. Do you understand?"

Old Yu inhaled deeply, but remained silent.

Lu Yin was telling the truth. The High Seraph had not dealt with Lu Yin or Boundless, and in addition to Lu Yin’s own suspicions, the High Seraph had claimed that he had done nothing because of Master Qing Cao. Master Qing Cao needed Lu Yin in order to break free from the restriction of karma.

Of course, Lu Yin knew that things might not be as simple as that, but he could not find any other reason.

The reason why Lu Yin had told Old Yu anything was to expose the matter. He wanted the Wisdom Domain to break the current impasse by finding a loophole in the High Seraph’s defenses. If they succeeded, great. If not, it did not particularly matter. As long as Lu Yin was protected by the invincible being, he could do whatever he wished in the Spirit Nidus without fear.

In Master Qing Cao’s eyes, Lu Yin might even be regarded as more valuable than the entire Spirit Nidus.

Immortals were invincible, but they were also restricted. It had to be intolerable to live like that. Master Qing Cao had already endured this situation for countless years, and he had probably had enough of it. Without Lu Yin, his torment would continue.

There were times when scenes of Master Qing Cao’s attack would reappear in Lu Yin’s mind. One wave of his hand had sealed Lu Yin, and he had been unable to even resist. Ancient God had been effortlessly defeated with barely more than a thought. The power of the Immortal realm surpassed Lu Yin’s imagination.

"I want to know some details regarding the invincible being," Old Yu stated in a low voice.

Lu Yin nodded. "Fine. I’ll tell you in order to prove that I’m telling the truth, but I have a condition."

"Do whatever you wish. The Wisdom Domain won’t interfere," Old Yu replied.

Lu Yin stared off into the distance. "You’re just a small fry. You couldn’t interfere even if you wanted to. I’ve never really taken you seriously."

It was a harsh comment, but Old Yu took no offense. "What’s your condition?"

Lu Yin's expression turned serious. "I want everyone aboard Boundless, aside from the Ortusers and above, to have their cultivation elevated by one level."

The fighting in the Consciousness Domain stopped. Lu Yin ordered Sovereign Dou Sheng and Progenitor Xi to return.

As he watched the two leave the Consciousness Domain, Shi Xiu’s expression turned grim.

When had his Consciousness Domain become somewhere that anyone could come and go as they pleased? And yet, in the face of the Grandverse Manor, Shi Xiu was completely helpless.

He had never even received a response from the Ascendant Hall.

"Alliance Leader, while we may have been forced to let them go, our Consciousness Domain never gave them any spirit seeds," Daoist Fengzhi comforted.

"I’ve heard that the Heavencraft Domain was breached and that the Cloudcrane and Augury Domains suffered heavily. The Ark Domain didn’t even try to resist, and they simply handed over trillions of spirit seeds."

Shi Xiu exhaled. "Given Seraph Lu’s personality, he wouldn’t have stopped by choice. Someone definitely intervened."

"It could have been the Ascendant Hall," Daoist Fengzhi suggested.

Wilderness God and the Megalith also retreated from the Cloudcrane Domain. They had fought there for some time without managing to gather any spirit seeds. However, the Crane Keepers would have preferred to have paid the spirit seeds. Instead, their Cloudcrane Domain had been devastated. They deeply regretted asking the Primal Beastland for help.

The forced requisition of spirit seeds that had swept through the thirty-six domains was finally over.

Once everyone had returned to Boundless, the number of spirit seeds that had been gathered was enough to shock even the Chamber of Commerce. The Grandverse Manor had plundered multiple domains at a Seraph’s order, which was something that never occurred in all of history. Only a group like the Grandverse Manor, which had repeatedly violated the order of the megaverse, would pull such a stunt. But even after this, the Ascendant Hall had not done anything.

Wilderness God and the others had been kept aboard Boundless for a long time, and they had found their recent battles to be immensely satisfying.

Old Yu agreed to Lu Yin’s condition, promising that everyone aboard Boundless who was beneath the Origin realm would have their cultivation be raised by one level.

For experts like Wilderness God and Lu Tianyi, who were still sequence powerhouses, they would rise up to become Ortusers. This was the result of Lu Yin sharing information pertaining to Master Qing Cao.

For Old Yu, while helping the experts aboard Boundless to grow stronger would be bad for the Spirit Nidus, he had chosen to pay that price for information regarding the invincible being.

There were many powerful experts aboard Boundless, but even if all of them rose by one level, as long as no one achieved Immortality, it would be impossible for them to surpass the Spirit Nidus.

On top of that, Lu Yin, who represented the strongest aboard the battleship, could never surpass the High Seraph.

Lu Yin held back nothing regarding Master Qing Cao, freely sharing it all with Old Yu. Lu Yin made a particular mention of Master Qing Cao’s unique ability as an Immortal, which was that the power of a megaverse could not touch him. Learning about that had caused Old Yu to fall into prolonged silence.

Lu Yin did not know what Old Yu was thinking. All Lu Yin knew was that, in traveling to the Spirit Nidus, those aboard Boundless mostly expected to die. No one from the Tianyuan Megaverse was confident that they would survive this expedition, but if even one made it back, it would be worthwhile. Lu Yin had led everyone away from their home, and if at all possible, he wanted to lead them back.

The Spirit Nidus was a place of constant danger for them. Both Old Yu and the High Seraph had plans that Lu Yin could not discern, and that made him nervous. The only answer was to grow stronger.

After several months had passed, the Wisdom Domain announced that, in two years, the Everstone Discourse would be held for all thirty-six domains to listen to.

"The Everstone Discourse?" The name meant nothing to Lu Yin.

Yuan Qi explained, "The Everstone Discourse is when cultivators share their enlightenment with the thirty-six domains of the Spirit Nidus. It is an opportunity for those on the verge of death to share the Everstone Discourse. Cultivators can listen to the recitation of the scriptures and sense the path of the reciting cultivator. In that, people are able to understand which sequence technique best suits them. Some people, with extraordinary luck, are able to hear the scriptures when they first start cultivating, while others might never hear them at all.

"Some people will be able to understand the path that they are meant to take, and some will break through their bottlenecks. Others will wait to undergo their Spirit Rebirth at that time, hoping to awaken an innate gift or a spirit weapon during a particular moment of enlightenment.

"All in all, it is a time of great opportunity for all cultivators."

Chu Yi asked, "How often is the Everstone Discourse recited?"

Yuan Qi shook his head. "In my era, they were rarely ever held, due to the fact that each recitation consumes the life of the person speaking. When they finish, they die. That is why only those who are at death’s door will participate."

Old Tao interjected, "The last Everstone Discourse occurred as a celebration of Bao Qi becoming a Seraph. Before that, it was to celebrate Meng Sang’s achievement."

Yuan Qi nodded. "Whenever anyone receives the title of Seraph, it is a major event. There is even a rule to perform the Everstone Discourse to celebrate such an achievement, as it’s an opportunity for the entire megaverse to join the celebration."

Lu Yin frowned, realizing that he had been outwitted. Old Yu would certainly use the Everstone Discourse to help those aboard Boundless raise their cultivation realms. However, even if Lu Yin had not made the request, the Everstone Discourse would have still been held. After all, two people had taken the title of Seraph at the same time, which meant that it would be completely unreasonable to not hold the Everstone Discourse in celebration.

Lu Yin was still too ignorant of the Spirit Nidus.

Still, it did not really matter. He had not paid anything for this opportunity. The information regarding Master Qing Cao was already known to the High Seraph, as well as to many people in the Tianyuan Megaverse. Sooner or later, Old Yu would have received the information.

As for collecting spirit seeds, only places like the Consciousness and Cloudcrane Domains had successfully resisted the requisition orders. A truly staggering number of spirit seeds had been gathered.

He would wait for the Day of Offering before ordering another collection. He needed at least two more requisitions before he was satisfied.

"Will a lot of people improve their strength during the Everstone Discourse?" Lu Yin asked. He had not mentioned anything about the conditions that he had demanded from Old Yu to Chu Yi or the others. Lu Yin had decided to handle the matter himself, as he did not want to burden the others with unnecessary stress.

Yuan Qi replied, "Of course. Many people will grow much stronger, though it all depends on their personal comprehension. It is easiest for cultivators who will undergo their Spirit Rebirth to improve. Many who were previously unable to experience a Spirit Rebirth or unlock their Spirit Transformation innate gifts or spirit weapons will undergo their Spirit Rebirth during the Everstone Discourse. This event always leads to an overall spike in strength. It’s even expected."

"What about peak powerhouses or sequence powerhouses?" Lu Yin pressed further.

Yuan Qi took a moment to consider the question. "That depends on what price the person hosting the Everstone Discourse is willing to pay.

"For peak powerhouses or anyone above that level to improve their strength, the speaker must be extremely powerful, at least an Ortuser. If the goal is to strengthen sequence powerhouses, then a Dukkhan will inevitably be sacrificed. Such is the cost.

"However, there is no doubt that there are Dukkhans hiding in the Gate of Laws who are on the verge of death. The price can certainly be paid, though doing so will delay the completion of the related sequence bases."

Old Tao added, "During previous Everstone Discourse, most of the speakers were only sequence powerhouses. It’s normal for several such experts to die while reciting the scriptures. Of course, there is a precedent for Ortusers to also recite the scriptures, though in doing so, they exhaust their life force to give their voice to the Everstone. The strength of the one reciting the scriptures is consumed to transmit their voice throughout the thirty-six domains. The higher the speaker’s cultivation, the better others are able to understand their mindset, which makes breakthroughs even easier."
