52: Chapter 52 Seatmate 3_1
52 -52 Seatmate 3_1
“Since you didn’t trust me and Huang Cai from the start, why did you bother asking us in the first place?
Just because you’re rich, you think it’s okay to bully and insult people?” Wang Bingbing stood up, throwing the book she was holding onto the bed.
Her eyes were red and filled with a mixture of grievance and anger.
“So what if you’re wealthy?
It’s not even your own money!
If you’re so capable, why don’t you earn money by yourself and provide for your own needs?”
“Why should I work when I was born into a wealthy family?” Gu En shrugged nonchalantly, “This is called fate, so you two should just accept it~ No matter what, I am richer than you.”
Gu En’s remarks were obnoxiously arrogant, causing Wang Bingbing to stand there crying; Huang Cai rushed over to comfort her in a low voice.
Gu En, however, showed no regret for making her roommate cry and turn towards He Zhilan, asking, “Hurry up, which of these three outfits suits me best?”
He Zhilan didn’t answer her, instead, she climbed onto the upper bed and lay down.
“He Zhilan!” Gu En angrily threw the clothes on the bed, hands on her hips as she glared at the individual on the upper bed.
“Gu En, I’m also from the countryside, and I’m poor too.
So, don’t ask me.” He Zhilan said a sentence, then turned her back to Gu En.
“You’re crazy!” Gu En was left speechless by He Zhilan’s comment.
In Gu En’s eyes, even though He Zhilan’s clothes weren’t as nice as hers, they were still much better than those worn by the two ‘country bumpkins’.
More importantly, Gu En genuinely thought that He Zhilan’s clothes looked nice, that’s why she asked Zhilan.
But to Gu En’s surprise, Zhilan was siding with those two ‘country girls’.
Indeed, in Gu En’s view, He Zhilan was defending Huang Cai and Wang Bingbing unnecessarily.
Even Huang Cai and Wang Bingbing felt this way, so when Gu En stormed out of the dormitory, they looked at He Zhilan’s back in amazement.
Both of them stared at He Zhilan for a while without saying anything.
However, their expressions were somewhat odd.
As for He Zhilan, who was lying in bed, she was too restless to consider what they were thinking.
Why hadn’t He Teng called her yet?
Hadn’t they agreed that he would call her as soon as he joined the army?
Why hadn’t he called her yet when it was already noon of the second day?
He Zhilan was worried as she started overthinking things.
When she was worried about someone, she always did that.
She worried that he might have had an accident on the road.
With so many car accidents occurring every day, she wondered if something bad had actually happened to him?
He Zhilan had this disturbed feeling for the whole day, she didn’t hear a single word of the afternoon classes.
Due to her closeness with Tan Heqian, they were seated together after the class advisor had asked everyone’s opinion about seat arrangements.
He Zhilan and Tan Heqian, as the first pair of friends in the class, naturally became desk partners, one of the few mixed-gender pairs.
The afternoon class ended around three.
He Zhilan, worried about He Teng, took Tan Heqian, who was reluctant to leave, to the school library, fearing she would overthink things if she went back to the dorm.
The library was quiet.
Tan Heqian, an extroverted individual, glared at He Zhilan, almost regretting to accompany her to study in the library.
He felt like he was going insane.
