Chapter 952: 0952 You don’t deserve it! (Bursting the seventh update)

Night.

Two figures darted through the courtyard of the Jin Clan. Jin Zhimo had been detained in a secluded location. Ye Qiu and Jin Shanshun split up—one went to rescue Jin Zhimo, while the other aimed to free Elder Jin Huang and the others.

Jin Zhimo was entrusted to Jin Shanshun. From the mouths of Jin Yunping and Jin Tianyi, they’d learned that the place where Jin Zhimo was imprisoned wasn’t guarded by powerful figures. After all, Jin Zhimo herself wasn’t overwhelmingly strong, so a significant number of guards wasn’t necessary. But Elder Jin Huang and the others were a different matter. As the strongest individuals of the Jin Clan, one of them even possessed a mysterious Mythic Realm status. Their captivity was under heavy fortification.

Ye Qiu moved like a phantom among the disciples of the Jin Clan in the courtyard, and none could detect his presence.

Before long, Ye Qiu arrived at the site where Elder Jin Huang was being detained.

At the entrance stood several Legendary Realm men, idly complaining as they talked.

"Getting assigned to this rundown ancient clan... Talk about rotten luck. If only the clan would quickly move these people to the family’s prison, so we wouldn’t have to waste our time safeguarding them without discernment."

"What good does complaining do? We Legendary Martial Artists, who’ve reached a bottleneck in our growth, aren’t given any importance by the clan anymore. Unless you’re one of the prodigies, you’ve no choice but to obediently stick around here. Maybe if Clan Leader Mu is in a generous mood, he’ll reward us with something," another man replied.

Sure enough, they were members of the Mu Clan.

Ye Qiu’s mind stirred. Extending his spiritual power through the walls, he immediately sensed two formidable presences deep inside. Aside from the Legendary Martial Artists outside, there was a Half-Step Mythic-level figure within. Drawing back his thoughts, Ye Qiu slowly revealed himself, approaching the two men.

"Hey. Who are you? This is a heavily-guarded site—not a place for insignificant Jin Clan disciples like you to wander around. Got it?" The Legendary Realm man who’d been complaining earlier cast a disdainful glance at Ye Qiu and immediately barked out a rebuke.

Ye Qiu tilted his head, smiling as he stared at the pair. He hadn’t expected them not to recognize him. Ye Qiu felt somewhat humiliated—clearly, his reputation wasn’t prominent enough in this ancient land.

"I’m talking to you. Didn’t you hear me? Get lost, right now, or I’ll show you in seconds how to behave properly!" The man raised his hand in irritation, his patience already wearing thin.

These small-clan disciples were always eager to approach them, thinking they could pick up pointers. Over the past few days, there had been no fewer than twenty Jin Clan disciples acting like Ye Qiu—an annoyance beyond tolerance.

"The Mu Clan’s random disciples could easily crush these so-called geniuses from minor clans. It’s no surprise they want to curry favor with us. Still, if they want martial guidance, they should at least bring something worthwhile. Coming empty-handed and hoping to gain skills—these bottom-tier clan disciples are truly delusional."

Perhaps driven by boredom during the long night, one of the men spoke to Ye Qiu: "Kid, do you have anything valuable to offer? If you do, we won’t mind giving you a few pointers. But that depends—are you smart enough to seize the opportunity?"

Ye Qiu casually tossed the Kusanagi Sword over. The man caught it, pulled the blade partway out, and examined it carefully, his eyes lighting up. Evidently, he recognized its quality. Clicking his tongue, he said, "Not bad, kid. You’re better than those others. I’ll be keeping this sword."

"But my sword requires blood whenever it leaves its sheath," Ye Qiu replied indifferently.

"Hah! What, you think it’ll draw my blood?" The Legendary Martial Artist let out a loud laugh before impatiently saying, "I’ve changed my mind. Get lost. Foolish brat."

"Why are you still standing here?" The other man urged Ye Qiu to leave when he saw him remain unmoving.

"The Kusanagi Sword demands blood whenever it emerges. That is its rule," Ye Qiu said coldly.

The man holding the sword stepped forward, his voice turning chilly. "Fine, if blood is what you’re asking for. How about I let it taste yours?"

As he spoke, he swung the sword, aiming its tip at Ye Qiu’s chest.

With a swift motion, Ye Qiu extended his hand like a soaring dragon, fingers splayed wide, instantly seizing the man’s wrist. In the blink of an eye, the Kusanagi Sword was reversed back into Ye Qiu’s hand. With an effortless motion of his arm, the blade slashed across the youth’s neck, spilling blood in an instant.

The sight of his companion falling lifelessly to the ground shocked the other man, who immediately made a move to attack. However, Ye Qiu’s speed outmatched him. With a flick of his wrist, he sent the Kusanagi Sword flying, piercing straight into the man’s heart and ending his life alongside the first.

Ye Qiu didn’t spare the two men another glance. To him, members of the Mu Clan deserved only death.

Ye Qiu stepped into the chamber beyond the doorway. Anyone standing in his path was no match for even a single strike. Not bothering to wield the sword with his hands, Ye Qiu used spiritual power to control it remotely. The Kusanagi Sword became a flying blade, harvesting lives one after another. Only when he spent a breath’s worth of time dealing with the Half-Step Mythic Martial Artist did he finally sheath the sword.

Click!

Ye Qiu unlocked the shackles on the door. Inside, he saw Elder Jin Huang, Jin Feiyang, and the Mythic Martial Artist from Yunxia Peak.

"Hmm?"

Ye Qiu’s sudden arrival took them by surprise. Though they had heard commotion outside moments ago, they hadn’t expected someone to breach the fortress and rescue them.

"It’s you!"

The group recognized Ye Qiu, especially the Yunxia Peak warrior, who regarded Ye Qiu with particular familiarity.

"You’ve reached the Mythic Realm?" The warrior gazed at Ye Qiu in astonishment, clearly sensing the faint but unmistakable Mythic aura that Ye Qiu hadn’t fully concealed.

"Come with me, everyone. It’s time to deal with the two traitorous elders who betrayed the Jin Clan!"

Ye Qiu released the bindings suppressing their strength. Immediately reinvigorated, they all recovered their vitality, having endured days of confinement they could barely tolerate.

The group emerged from captivity, soon joined by Jin Shanshun and Jin Zhimo at the rendezvous point.

At this moment, aside from Clan Leader Jin Wanshan, every key figure had been successfully rescued.

Jin Zhimo stared at Ye Qiu, her thoughts conflicted. She realized that both she and her brother Jin Shanshun owed their rescue to Ye Qiu. Yet, it was also Ye Qiu’s presence that had brought calamity upon the Jin Clan.

Ye Qiu had no interest in the inner musings of the little girl. Without delay, he headed toward the residence of elders Jin Shui and Jin Mu.

If they could deal with those two, the crisis facing the Jin Clan would be resolved.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Suddenly, figures emerged from the shadows around them.

Clap! Clap! Clap!

"So, you’ve finally shown yourself."

With those words, Elder Jin Shui stepped forward from the darkness, clapping slowly. From another side, Elder Jin Mu appeared as well.

"You were expecting me?" Ye Qiu looked at the pair.

"Of course. We’ve been waiting for you to walk into our trap for over three months. Persistence pays off, and I knew you’d come eventually," Elder Jin Shui replied.

"Just the two of you think you can take us down?" Elder Jin Huang spoke defiantly.

"Oh no, Elder Jin Huang. Neither of us could hope to defeat you. But it isn’t us you’ll be facing—it’s them!" Elder Jin Shui gestured outward, his hand pointing into the dark.

From the shadows, seven figures emerged.

It was seven Mythic Realm warriors!

The presence of seven Mythic-level figures encircling them caused even Jin Huang, Jin Shanshun, and the Yunxia Peak warrior to pale.

"The Mu Clan sure treats me, Ye Qiu, with great regard—dispatching seven Mythic warriors to lurk in the Jin Clan for three months! You must hold me in high esteem!" Ye Qiu remarked calmly.

"Ye Qiu, arrogant rogue! Surrender yourself and return to the Mu Clan with us, or suffer unbearable pain!"

A voice belonging to one of the Mythic Realm warriors resonated from above.

Ye Qiu raised his head, chuckling softly. "You think I should surrender to a pack of nobodies like you? You’re not worthy!"

"Courting death!"

In an instant, the night sky roared to life. Seven Mythic-level warriors unleashed their killing intent, and those with weaker cultivation on the ground shivered uncontrollably, staring at the heavens in pure terror.
