The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 684: Valley Of Eternal Abyss
Chapter 684: Valley Of Eternal Abyss
"Arlan, why aren’t you using darkness?" Oriana shouted, hoping he could hear her, though doubt gnawed at her, knowing how far away he was thrown. Desperate, she turned to Drayce. "King Drayce, tell your friend to use darkness!"
Drayce, standing silently on the other side, met her eyes but remained silent.
Frustration and helplessness surged through Oriana as she watched Tharzimon advance on Arlan again. With another powerful attack, Tharzimon sent Arlan flying once more.
"Help your friend, you two! Don’t just stand there!" Oriana shouted at Draven and Drayce.
Draven responded with a calm but firm voice, "He told us it’s his fight and his right to protect his mate. As beasts, we have to follow the rules. You are not our mate."
Oriana’s eyes darted to Drayce. "You said I am your sister. You should protect me and him."
Drayce shook his head helplessly, "We can not break the rules of the beast world when it comes to mates. One’s mate is his responsibility to protect and to claim. If he gets you with our help, he is not a beast enough and doesn’t deserve to have you as his mate. He would be enraged if went against the rule. It’s between those two who are fighting for you."
"I’m not a beast woman. I don’t follow these rules!" Oriana retorted, her voice filled with desperation.
"But we do," Draven interjected, his tone unyielding. "Whether he wins you or loses you, that’s how it will be, and you have to accept it. This is the law of our world, and it cannot be broken." His words were final, as he was the king of beasts and devoted to all the rules which can’t be broken.
Tears welled up in Oriana’s eyes as she watched Arlan struggle against Tharzimon’s overwhelming power. The demon, seemingly reveling in his dominance, used his powers and lifted Arlan’s bruised and bloodied body into the air for all to see, his unconscious form a tragic display of defeat.
"Arlan," Oriana called out, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her face. "I accept his defeat, Tharzimon," she pleaded. "Let him go now."
Tharzimon turned to face her, his expressions turned evil and threatening, "Let him go?" He laughed wickedly, the sound echoing through the air. "Oh, I do plan to let him go." The malicious glint in his eyes sent a chill down Oriana’s spine.
"Don’t," she begged, desperation clear in her voice. "I will be your demoness willingly, just let him go back to the mortal realm."
Tharzimon’s mocking smile widened. "Willingly or unwillingly, you will be my demoness. I am the ruler of this realm; your wishes mean nothing to me. What matters is what I want," he sneered. "And right now, I want you to regret provoking me. I want you to learn your lesson and never dare to disobey me. You will submit to me and serve me."
Oriana’s voice cracked with despair as she pleaded, "I’ll do anything you say. Please, I beg you, let him go." She felt utterly helpless, abandoned by everyone, including Arlan’s friends, who chose to follow their rules over saving him. A mix of anger and despair began to consume her.
"What can I do?" she thought, desperately trying to access her powers, but they were useless against the confinement imposed by Tharzimon’s magic.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them began to shake as if an earthquake had struck. Oriana’s heart raced, unsure of what was happening, while the demons cheered loudly, as if what they were waiting for was finally happening.
"Throw that mortal into the valley. Let his soul rot there."
"A mortal dared challenge our lord and covet our princess."
"Kill him. Tear his limbs apart before throwing him."
A shiver ran down Oriana’s spine as she realized the horror of the situation.
A wide crack appeared in the ground far ahead, rapidly widening and dividing the land. Tharzimon had summoned the Valley of Eternal Abyss, intending to throw Arlan into its depths.
The reality of what was about to happen hit her with full force, leaving her feeling more desperate and powerless than ever.
"No. Don’t please," Oriana cried out loudly, amidst the noises of demons’ cheering, to support their lord.
Drayce turned to Draven, anxiety evident in him now. "I don’t want to risk his life. Let’s drop it here. Change the plan."
Draven, who was resolute to not meddle in, his demeanour softened and he agreed with a nod. Drayce turned to Snowflake, "We will keep that demon busy and destracted and get Arlan. You approach Oriana and teleport back with her even if we three can’t make it back to you."
Snowflake let out a soft growl to agree to them. Draven and Drayce marched towards the demon who was carrying Arlan’s body hung in air, towards the opening of the valley.
Both of them were about to attack the demon but someone stood in their way- Xyron. "You two should not meddle in."
Drayce and Draven glared at him, "We need to stop this. If you meddle in, we will forget once we considered a friend. We have to help our friend even it means to get rid of you."
"I do not need your friendship but I wish you to honour your friends decision. Moreover, as the commander of this kingdom, I would not allow you to go against the rule. I warn you to step back. You do know I am powerful than you two," Xyron warned.
"If this is what you want," Drayce and Draven both attacked Xyron as they had no time to waste.
The another battle started between a the commander of Demons and the two Dragons.
Snowflake attacked Xyron as well, completely siding with her kins.
Xyron bounded Snowflake with his powers, "Celeste, I do not wish to hurt you. Stay in your place."
Just then a powerful cheer erupted the entire surrounding. Drayce and Draven looked towards particular direction as they stopped attacking Xyron. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Tharzimon had tossed Arlan into the Valley of Eternal Abyss, both of them stood frozen in their places.
Tharzimon turned to Oriana, who was shocked and hurt of loss gripped her soul, her teary eyes looking ahead still in disbelief as Arlan was no longer in her sighet. She knelt helplessly on the ground, his name like a whisper left her lips. "Arlan." She was confined by Demon’s powers that she could not even go to the valley to fulfil her plan of dying together with Arlan.
"As I said, I let him go," Tharzimon laughed loudly, the voice echoed everywhere.
Drayce and Draven looked at hurt and helpless Oriana. "We failed," Drayce spoke, his own eyes turning moist.
Draven was equally sad, "We need to get him back."
Draven and Drayce marched towards the valley, only to be thrown back by Xyron. "You two can’t bring him back. Save yourself."
"Get out of our way," Drayce growled.
Just then the ground below them started to shake again as they heard Tharzimon talking to Oriana, "Cry much you want, he won’t be coming back."
Oriana watched as the valley was going to be closed soon. She buried her face in her hands, as she Continue to cry. "It was all my fault. I should have not...." words choked in her throat. "I killed him."
Everyone watched their princess crying but they found it as their victory because she would be with Lord Tharzimon and would be their princess once more.
"It will close soon," Draven spoke and both of them attacked Xyron with all might, only to be thrown away by mercilessly.
