Chapter 704: Aaron’s Revenge-III

"Let your daughter watch as well, so she will know what’s waiting for her," Aaron spoke, glancing towards the scared woman.

"No, you can’t, please I beg you," Luis almost cried out. "You can kill her instead. Please don’t be so cruel to her. She is a woman."

"My sister wasn’t?" Aaron didn’t show an ounce of mercy, "She was not even an adult but your daughter is. I am sure she won’t die in one night. If she survives, I will leave her to you so you can kill her with your own hands."

"Let go of our sister," the two men cried out, making them aware of their presence. Those were Luis’ two sons.

"Shut them up," Aaron instructed and the next moment their voices died down with wincing in pain.

Aaron turned to those twenty men and instructed them, loud and clear for everyone around present to hear it.

"That mann is all yours," he referred to Zymer, "Do whatever you want with him but make it worth the show to watch for his father. Even if he is about to die, you can’t stop, and if he dies, continues to fuck his dead body till the morning. By chance if he survives, throw him in his father’s cells to keep him company. But I would prefer if he dies as you fuck him and then throw his dead body to his father to grieve on it."

With that Aaron turned to leave, leaving each and every prisoner there terrified. The other three followed him, having no pity in their eyes for any of them.

Nathaniel put his hand on Lucian’s shoulder, "You can understand him don’t you?"

"His sister was my sister as well," Lucian replied as they continued to walk away.

-----

"Father, help me. Father....Ahh....stay away from me...no...."

Soon the heart shattering cries of a man echoed through the prison along with the lewd talk from those burly men, making every prisoner shiver in fright as all those twenty men were being inhuman to Zymer, taking anything of him without showing any mercy.

Tears continued to roll down Elrod’s eyes as such a humiliation and cruelty his son had to go through just because of his recklessness in the past.

He regretted saying what he said to Aaron about his sister. He should have not, or his son wouldn’t be going through this. All he wanted was to somehow go to his son and kill him so he won’t be in pain and then kill himself but, he was helpless. He was confined in chains and locked in a cell to be able to go to his son.

"It’s because of you Elrod that your son is facing this and you put my daughter in the same," Luis angrily spat out, "I wish I had killed you long back and was not associated with you. You monster, you..." Luis continued to cry as his heart shivered at the thought that the same would be happening to his daughter sooner or later. "My daughter..."

Grace was shocked and numb that she didn’t even dare look at what was happening with Zymer. She could only cry to think of herself in his place soon.

"Father, why did you do it? Why did you harm his family," Grace cried, "Because of you, he would...."

"I am sorry, I was wrong," Luis cried as well, "I didn’t know...I always wanted the best for my kids..."

"Why don’t you just kill me, father?" she sobbed heavily, "I don’t want to be like Zymer..." she covered her ears as Zymer’s cries were still echoing everywhere. "I want to die instead."

Luis’s heart broke more than it could, his mind gripping with the regrets about all his actions and greed.

-----

Once outside the prison, Lucian stopped, his mind was conflicted at something.

"What happened?" Nathaniel asked.

Lucian turned to Aaron, "Are you truly going to hurt his daughter that way?"

Aaron, who was cold till now, had a flicker of softness when he watched Lucian. "Instilling fear in them by making them watch other can do better than the actual deed."

Lucian understood and felt relieved that his brother had not lost cause entirely, that he had no plan of doing the same with Grace as what he did with Zymer.

Whatever happens, revenge should never be fulfilled at the cost of a woman’s dignity, even if that woman belongs to their worst enemy.

As they walked towards carriage, Nathaniel whispered to Lucian, "After what happened with his mother and sister, do you think Aaron would ever do something like that to the other woman?"

Lucian shook his head.

They got on the horses and left the military base, all of them were silent under the evening sky that was now covered in darkness.

They returned to their own residences where Aaron was accompanied by Nathaniel. Aaron sat in his study, quietly looking outside the window towards the dark sky.

Nathaniel brought the wine bottle and two glasses, and quietly poured for both of them. He handed over one to Aaron while he sat in the chair next to him.

"What are you thinking about?" Nathaniel asked.

In response there was a silence for a while before Aaron spoke, his gaze stuck to the dark sky ahead. "Whatever I do, I feel like nothing can make me feel better. Even after I punish them, kill them, it’s not enough."

"If scars could be healed by taking revenge, then I would have killed my father as well. But that’s not the case," Nathaniel said, "The pain our loved ones had gone through, there is no way we can rid them off of it and that is what hurt us the most. What happened with your family, you can change it and it would always keep hurting you. But, you have to learn to let go and remember them with the good memories you have with them, the right way to keep them in your heart and live a normal life."

Aaron sighed, "I am not sure I can ever forget it. I don’t think I can even live a normal life."

"You will. Once the time pass by and you have right people by your side, you will," Nathaniel added, "Like I always had you, Arlan and Arthur by my side. Give yourself time."

After a silence, Nathaniel continued. "You will be married to my cousin. With her by your side..."

"I can’t...she won’t be happy with the broken man like me. You have to convince her to say no to this marriage as I can’t go against the king," Aaron spoke.

"She is a strong woman, she would understand you."

"She deserves to have a man who has a heart that can love her, not the one like mine which is nothing but dark."

"If she has decided to marry you, nothing can change her mind. Trust me, she will teach you to live a life you deserve to," Nathaniel insisted. "Leave it to the time."

Aaron only sat quit, drinking and trying to drown himself in it do he won’t remember any of the pain he had been feeling for the past two decades. He wished his mind and heart could be numb to feel anything at all.
