The Devil's Betrothed-Chapter 768: He Is Not A Blockhead
Chapter 768: He Is Not A Blockhead
In the middle of the night, Erin stirred up in her sleep only to find herself in a familiar embrace. Surprised, she looked at the man who was holding her closer.
’When did he come to my room? I Don’t remember.’
In the dim light of the night lamp, he looked even more handsome. Even before she could feel it was enough, a man opened his eyes all of a sudden, taking her by surprise.
"Are you uncomfortable sleeping like this?" he asked.
She lightly shook her head and asked, "Why are you here instead of in your chamber?"
He wordlessly looked at her as if trying to see through her thoughts, and then asked, "You don’t want me to?"
She immediately shook her head. She was worried, he would take it otherwise and return to his own room. "I didn’t mean it that way."
"Then, let’s sleep," he said and pulled her even closer, "It’s late."
Erin buried her face at the top of his chest and asked, "We are yet to be married. Won’t your mother and others find it...."
"I don’t care about others. And about my mother, didn’t she come to you because she cared for you?" he asked.
Erin understood the meaning and asked, "Did you ask her to give me that medicine?"
"I didn’t," he said, "As you are in her care, it’s her duty to think about your wellbeing."
Erin hummed and asked, "Would you want me to take that medicine?"
"I would want whatever you want," he answered firmly, not a tinge of hesitation.
"I didn’t take it," she answered.
He simply hummed, making her wonder what exactly he thought about her decision. But as he said it was up to her; she didn’t press further.
Just as she closed her eyes, she heard him say, "We would be getting married in a month anyways, so don’t worry."
A light smile painted on her lips as she knew it was his way of assuring her that he was with her whatever she decides and would be fine with whatever happens.
She hummed and closed her eyes to sleep, a smile on her lips widening.

Over a month passed by. During this time so many things happened that led to the day of Erin and Lucian’s wedding.
Aaron had talked to the king and the Ahren’s and all the misunderstandings were cleared. As Aaron was fine with everything and gladly approved Erin and Lucian’s marriage arrangements, Lord Ahren felt relieved.
Taking care of the matters and deciding on the wedding, Aaron travelled back to the north-east earlier while the Ahrens made the quick preparation to leave for the North-east as well. The wedding was decided to be held in the north-east and the bride’s side was going to stay at Wynters and the wedding was arranged from there as well.
In a few weeks they all reached the Wynters which included Lord Ahren’s entire family, relatives and friends. Though the wedding was decided on short notice, every noble family tried their best to send at least one representative. Moreover, it was an opportunity for everyone to get to know the Lords of the North-East and get close to them.
Erin was happy to be able to meet her family members. In the past month she had already become a part of the Rainier family where Rina had started calling her sister-in-law, Gwen and Paul had started treating her like their daughter and calling her simply by her name ’Erin’, and all the servants had already started calling her as the lady of the estate and followed her orders.

The day the Ahrens arrived at the Wynters in the evening, Erin was present there along with her two brothers to welcome them personally along with Aaron and all Rainier family members.
The moment Erin spotted her father, she felt a little hesitant on how to face him, but seeing her mother all she wanted was to go to her and hug her. She had never been away from the family for so long and it made her realize she truly missed her parents.
Aaron and Lucian welcomed them together, while Erin stood there with her brothers, waiting to greet the family. The parents were happy to be able to meet their daughter and were happy for her.
All the guests were directed to their respective stay arrangements that were made into the guest mansions across the Wynter’s estate, along with all the facilities needed. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
The Ahren family was given one entire mansion and so many servants were arranged for them. Everyone preferred to rest, being tired from the long journey.
Erin returned to the Rainier mansion, after greeting her parents and older brother and could not wait to meet them the next day after they finished resting over the night.
---
The next morning, Erin arrived at the guest mansion to meet her family. Rowan and Rafal had already shifted their stay to a guest mansion from Aaron’s main residence.
When Erin reached there, Euron was in the drawing room with two other brothers, and finally got the chance to know everything about how Lucian and Erin were finally together. Euron was of course happy for his sister. Her happiness mattered the most.
The moment Erin saw Euron, she hurried to him and hugged him.
"Finally, I can see my sister smiling," Euron said. As she looked up at him, he asked, "Are you happy now?"
She nodded immediately, her happiness clear in those bright eyes and pleasant smile. "I am."
He patted her head, "I am happy for you as well. Finally, that blockhead man couldn’t resist my sister’s charm."
She let go of him and offered him a displeased look, "He is not a blockhead. He just talks less."
Euron raised a brow. "My sister is already siding with him, huh?"
"I am just telling the truth," she countered, "He understands everything and everyone, but just doesn’t show it like we all do. He is not a blockhead at all."
"I wonder what he did to make you change your opinion so strongly?" Euron asked teasingly, "Did he just whisper some sweet nothing to you?"
Before Erin could say anything, Rowan beat her to it, "I am sure he did more than just that. I believe he is more like a man of action and our sister loved it more-- actions over mere sweet words."
Erin clearly understood the meaning and her face flushed red while she heard Euron ask, "What did he do?"
Erin felt embarrassed as she glared at Rowan to ask him to keep quiet, but before that Euron spoke, "Don’t tell me he took advantage of you?"
