Chapter 771: Bride And The Groom

Both Rainier and Ahren families were happy while no one else knew about Erin’s pregnancy.

Gwen and Lady Ahren already started planning on how to take care of Erin and her baby, by planning proper meals for her and herbs which would help her better.

Rina was instructed strictly not to reveal to anyone about Erin’s pregnancy and the little girl followed it as well, keeping her lips tight.

The preparations for the wedding were done already. The wedding was arranged in the grand hall of the Wynter estate which was meant for such celebrations. All the guests had arrived at the wedding hall.

From the Cromwell family, Prince Lenard attended the wedding.

At the Ahrens, the groom had arrived to get the bride according to the tradition of the north-east.

When Erin stepped out of her room, all the family members were delighted to see her so beautiful in her red wedding dress.

Lady Ahren could not help but hug her daughter, at the same time feeling emotional that her daughter was now going to be a part of some other family.

"Mother, don’t be so emotional. Can’t you see how happy she is to leave us and go to the man she loves," Rowan commented.

Erin glared at him playfully, "Don’t tease mother," and hugged her mother back.

Lady Ahren let her go and said, "I had kept you away from him for a few days, now I won’t stop you."

Rowan laughed at it. "Mother, are you sure you were successful?"

Erin exclaimed, "Brother..."

"Mother, you truly doubt Lord Rainier’s skills to sneak in," Rowan said again before Erin could stop him. "Do you think he could get on Luis’ nerves with no skills at all? He is a master of sneaking in and disappearing like a ghost?"

Lady Ahren looked at her daughter who looked embarrassed.

Erin put her hand on her belly and said, "My baby seemed to want her father around so..."

Lady Ahren chuckled, "It’s alright. Don’t blame it on the baby when her mother is the one who can’t stay away from her man."

"I must have taken after you, mother," Erin teased, seeing her mother relaxed.

Lady Ahren narrowed her eyes at her, "if you were not pregnant, for the first time you would have received a beating from me for teasing your mother this way."

Erin kept quiet as everyone smiled pleasantly.

"Don’t keep Lord Rainier waiting," Lord Ahren finally reminded them all.

The three brothers hugged their sister and praised her for how beautiful she looked.

The servant put the beautiful, warm, floor length, furry winter coat over her shoulder before they headed out. The wedding was arranged at noon when the sun was high up in the sky and the air felt less cold.

The brother led her way outside the guest mansion as she walked while holding her father’s arm.

Lucian was waiting for her along with the beautifully decorated carriage and the knights dressed in their crisp ceremonial uniforms, standing at the front and rear of the carriage.

Lucian watched as Erin walked toward him. Despite the winter coat hung on her shoulder he could see her red dress and how beautiful she looked wearing it.

It was the first time he was seeing her in clothes of darker or bright colour as she always wore light ones with light makeup. But today, she was the bride and everything about her was different, more beautiful, more enchanting.

Erin watched the handsome man before her as well. He was wearing royal blue clothes meant for the groom- the white shirt inside royal blue colour vest, tailcoat, pants and the boots, the sword hung to the left side of his waist. The handle of his sword still had that green jade pendant hung to it which Erin once had gifted him.

His hair was set perfectly, his handsome face radiating the manly charm that always melted her heart. She could not take her eyes off of him. To her he was the most perfect man in the world.

Both of their gazes not leaving each other, as if it was still a dream they were into.

As she reached closer, Lord Ahren handed over her hand to Lucian which he held gently, a ceremonial thing where the father was finally ready to send off his daughter with the groom.

Lucian guided her way inside the carriage helping her sit, climbed the carriage as well and sat next to her. He gently put her hand into his, which was unexpected by Erin, and she looked at him, only to hear him say.

"You look more beautiful today."

Erin smiled lightly, "And you are the most handsome groom I had ever seen. It was so hard to take my gaze away from you. You should stop looking so good, or people will think I am a pervert to keep looking at you without even blinking."

Though Lucian always kept his words to minimum, Erin had decided to be generous with them and show her feelings openly to him. It was not always the man’s duty to appreciate a woman, but she could do it as well.

"I will try to look less handsome." Lucian smiled lightly as well.

He picked up something he had kept in the carriage, a tiny palm size woven closed basket. He opened its lid and held it in front of her.

Erin looked into it and was even more surprised. The berries she craved these days made her feel better and less nauseous. How thoughtful he was to think about it.

She immediately picked a few and started eating happily, her soul felt satisfying.

"You must be the first groom who is offering berries to his bride while on the way to the wedding," she commented with a mouth full of berries. freewebnσvel.cѳm

As usual Lucian didn’t say anything but watched her enjoying eating them.

When it was the turn to spit the seeds, Lucian offered her another tiny empty basket and she spit the seeds in them as she said, "And I must be the first bride going to her wedding while enjoying eating berries."

Lucian continued to quietly hold both baskets for her in his both hands, one with berries and another to spit the seeds.
