The Doomsday Lord: Starting as a Insect Queen-Chapter 26 - Level 3 Undead
Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Level 3 Undead!
Chapter 26 -26 Level 3 Undead!
“Something’s off, they’ve already taken down more than ten 2nd Rank Undead, how can Karis still hold back?”
About a hundred meters from the battlefield, hidden in a thicket, Bai Yi used the cover to observe the fight, feeling a bit uneasy.
“No, I need to investigate this…”
Bai Yi reached out and pressed her hand onto a nearby tree, activating her superpower.
Thanks to the Banyan trees in the Banyan Forest having intertwined root systems underground, Bai Yi was able to conduct this long-distance investigation through her superpower.
Although these Banyan trees had almost zero intelligence, and the information transmitted over such distances was somewhat distorted,
Bai Yi only received two types of information: good or bad.
The Death Energy emanating from the Undead was one of the auras these Banyan trees disliked.
Sure enough, the investigation revealed the issue.
There were three auras that made the Banyan trees uncomfortable, diverging from one location and quickly heading toward three battle lines.
“We can’t let them pick us off one by one, I need to call back Zhan Yi and Zhan Er!”
Bai Yi closed her eyes, and in her mind, the perspective of the insect swarm emerged.
This was a network of consciousness composed of the hundred Poison Blood Beetles connected to her Spirit. Each beetle shared its perception, mapping out every detail of the battlefield.
The consciousness connected to two beetles, which left the battlefield and flew toward Zhan Yi and Zhan Er on either flank, landing on them.
This was the pre-agreed signal from Bai Yi.
As soon as Bai Yi controlled the beetles to land on them, it meant they needed to regroup.
Neither dared to be negligent, directing a swarm of bees for a wave of covering fire, then swiftly left their respective battlefields without hesitation.
“Master, we’re back.”
With the beetles guiding them, Zhan Yi and Zhan Er quickly found where Bai Yi was.
The thicket naturally parted, leaving just enough space for the two to squeeze in.
Every time they saw this magical power, Zhan Yi and Zhan Er couldn’t help but marvel, exchanging glances before ducking into the thicket where Bai Yi was hiding.
After seeing them, Bai Yi gave them a once-over to make sure they weren’t seriously injured, then immediately began explaining her plan.
“There’s likely to be some big ones coming next, three in total, you’ll take the swarm of bees up to help.”
“Zhan Yi, you take the ordinary swarm of bees, make sure to tie up the other two.”
“Zhan Er, you command the destructive swarm of bees. In a bit, I’ll control the insect swarm to focus fire on one with you, aim to reduce their numbers first.”
“Got it?”
“Got it!”
“Understood!”
The thicket opened up a path again, and once the two left, it quickly closed, concealing Bai Yi’s body once more.
After Zhan Yi and Zhan Er returned to the battlefield with the swarm of bees, the abandoned Undead also arrived almost simultaneously, plunging the scene into chaos once more.
At the rear, Bai Yi was not idle, synchronizing the consciousness of the insect swarm with the plant perception brought by her superpower, and located the three Undead.
“Damn! Third Rank Undead!”
Atop the heads of those three Undead were large labels reading “lv.35.”
All three were nonhuman; judging by their skeletons, two of them seemed to have been from feline and canine species in life.
Bai Yi couldn’t identify the last one, but she guessed it was a bear, as it didn’t seem like there were any apes around here.
More troublesome was that they seemed to possess not insignificant intelligence.
Upon approaching the battlefield, they did not charge immediately but used the Banyan trees to avoid aerial observation, stealthily closing in.
But once marked by Bai Yi, these concealments became ineffective.
Bai Yi placed her hand on the Banyan tree beside her again, her superpower networked through the tree roots to the thicket where the three Undead were hiding.
With a swoosh—
The three thickets suddenly split open, and the hiding Third Rank Undead looked bewildered, with confusion evident within their Soul Flames.
They couldn’t understand why the thicket concealing them suddenly opened up.
But the insect swarm that had been prepared wouldn’t wait for them to recover. As the thickets parted, the Poison Blood and the swarm of bees’ Poison Liquid followed in quick succession.
Bai Yi chose the suspected feline Undead as the focus target for concentrated fire.
This was both because it was the weakest and due to its speed.
This Undead had inherited the advantages of its previous life, being exceptionally quick.
Bai Yi’s insect swarm did not attack fast, and before the Poison Blood and Poison Liquid could fall, that skeleton cat could easily detect and dodge.
Unless there was a wide-area coverage, there wasn’t a chance to hit such an agile skeleton cat.
*Such a high-offense low-defense elusive assassin, if I don’t take this chance to deal with it, am I supposed to keep it around for New Year’s?*
The skeleton cat certainly wouldn’t just watch Poison Blood splash onto it.
But just as it intended to jump away, a branch of the thicket “conveniently” tripped it, hindering its movement for a moment.
That brief moment was enough for a few Poison Blood Beetles to appear in its escape path, hurtling towards it.
Recently awakened and not yet having gained Experience from other Undead, the skeleton cat had no reservations and swiped a claw at them.
Then…
There was no then.

Two beetles, clawed through at the waist, sprayed their blood like there was no tomorrow onto the skeleton cat’s head. Its hard skull lasted less than five seconds before being fully corroded.
The exposed Soul Flames were promptly extinguished by other beetles, turning into a true pile of bones scattered on the ground.
[Your Valkyrie Battle Dress killed a Skeleton Fierce-toothed Cat lv.35. A perfect victory, you gained 700 Experience Points.]
[Note: This unit is a summoning unit, no first kill reward can be obtained.]
The experience from the dozen or so 2nd Rank skeletons taken down earlier had already pushed the Level to 20, stuck at the advancement quest.
Due to the battle, Bai Yi hadn’t had the chance to check the requirements yet.
Upon seeing that the Experience Points were still accumulating normally, she paid no further attention.
As for that panel reminder, Bai Yi was not surprised.
After all, she had long since discovered that the skeleton kills granted Experience but no treasure boxes.
Otherwise, Bai Yi would have relied on this bug…
No, with this “feature,” she’d farm hundreds of treasure boxes.
Even if they were all wooden, so what?
If she could exploit rewards, it’d always be the sweetest deal!
After taking down a Third Rank skeleton, the pressure from the other two was greatly reduced.
Although their attribute values were quite powerful, Bai Yi knew their weaknesses and also had targeted Corrosive Poison Liquid and Poison Blood.
The Skeleton Bear, being the least flexible, was the first to be dealt with by Zhan Er, who used the swarm of bees to corrode its skull.
The remaining skeleton dog was still maneuvering thanks to its speed, but couldn’t stir up much of a fuss.
Seeing this, Bai Yi left a portion of the Poison Blood Beetles to continue the fight, controlling some beetles to leave the battlefield.
Bai Yi intended to go check out the place where those three Undead had split apart, which was likely where Karis’s body was hidden, if not in the immediate vicinity.
A few beetles distanced themselves from the battlefield, using the treetops for cover. Upon reaching the target location, Bai Yi discovered a cave.
Karis, dressed in a black robe, stood at the cave entrance, seemingly in a fit of rage.
But as the beetles didn’t come with hearing, Bai Yi could only deduce this from his expression and stance.
After venting his anger for a bit, Karis swung his Bone Staff, and the reporting 2nd Rank Undead fell silent.
After disposing of the messenger Undead, Karis seemed to calm down, suppressing his fury as he headed back to the battlefield.
Given what she just witnessed, Bai Yi certainly wouldn’t send these five beetles to their deaths.
Once Karis was far enough away, Bai Yi controlled the beetles to fly out from their tree hiding spot, landing next to the pile of remains.
In the beetles’ perception, everything about this just seemed like a normal pile of remains.
There was no trace that it was a 2nd Rank Undead just a minute earlier.
*”Undead spells are truly mysterious…”*
Karis had a distance left to the battlefield, so Bai Yi refocused her attention on the cave where Karis had hidden.
The air inside stirred the Poison Blood Beetles’ excitement; it was the scent of blood.
To be safe, Bai Yi didn’t send all five beetles inside.
She only controlled one beetle to fly up, entering the dark cave.
The interior held nothing notable, and after flying inwards for a bit, Bai Yi saw the pool filled with blood in the middle of the cave.
And—
The body of a girl floating in the center of the Blood Pool, bearing some resemblance to Karis.
Below the Blood Pool, only pale bones remained, with no trace of Blood Flesh adhering to them.
Suddenly, the girl’s eyes snapped open!

White Poplar Short-faced Bear: A type of Mutated Bear living on White Poplar Mountain. Initially, these were Black Bears exhibited in White Poplar City’s zoo, which mutated and escaped into the mountains. Adults typically possess Third Rank strength, enjoy raiding honey from Killing Giant Bees but habitually live by hunting and are extremely dangerous.
