The dragon's harem-Chapter 1198: Power Isn’t Just in Might
Leaving the room, Arad's senses were focused somewhere else as his body walked through the castle. He had already learned a few things about his body now that he had become an adult, but there was still too much for him to learn.
To solve the crisis of the storm titans, he needs to be able to use his power for more than violence. He needs to be able to gather information rapidly, deceive people, and blend in with the world itself. He needs a thousand eyes to serve him.
He'll also need to prepare a whole royal convoy with him, Tyal, and several more people. He can't just pick anyone, he needs everyone to be able to perform a role and help to stabilize the storm kingdom. That is, if he wanted to stop their collapse.
Why would he need to care about the storm titan's kingdom? The answer was simple: they are one of the most powerful races in the world, and having them go rogue would inevitably turn into a worldwide disaster.
Right now, not many things can threaten Arad. What he needs to worry about is those he takes with him. It is easy to just pick Aella, Gamond, Isdis, or Eris for raw power and elemental attunement, but that would be a mistake. What he needs isn't raw power; he has enough of that. Hell had proved that when push comes to shove, he can only rely on his arms.
He needs people with authority, old and wise, people that the titans won't dare ignore.
As Arad walked down the steps of the castle towers, a crow flew out of the clouds and landed on his shoulder. Looking directly into Arad's eyes with a purple flash. It cawed and then flew away, followed by a whole murder of crows, thousands and thousands of them spread across the lands like a dark cloud.
Those are Arad's eyes in his land, watching, forever awake. With the crows, Arad could see every square meter of his land, but it wasn't enough. He took a step and dissolved into darkness.
In the next moment, he appeared in a cavern deep underground, in front of him was a massive bed with a woman lying there. She was surrounded by hundreds of other women, all running around with emotionless faces. "Arad!" The woman was Meryem, the ant queen, and those women were her daughters, all of them eerily similar to her.
She didn't need a partner to give birth to eggs, and just by being allowed to thrive within Arad's territory, those eggs were soaked in his magic and developed traits similar to him. They could use void step and could see magic, and their physical strength had grown drastically. Arad was technically the master of the dungeon where they were born.
Each of the worker ants was almost ten meters long, and the fighter ants could grow as large as fifty meters long with massive onyx mandibles.
Currently, there are millions and millions of them hidden beneath the ground, all living their lives, awaiting their queen's order to storm forward. Today, Arad came to give an important order.
"Spread and search for a shadow drakaina." He reached forward, and some blood appeared in his hand.
Meryem jumped out of her massive bed and approached him. She sniffed the blood, and then her horns, which were her antenna, twitched. Soon, the ground started rumbling and vibrating as the millions of ants started to move.
To everyone outside, the newborn empire seemed to lack a powerful army, with all of its soldiers and knights busy working on the castle. But that was wrong, those ants are Arad's most powerful army.
"So?" Meryem approached him with a grin on her face. Her almond skin seemed to glisten and shine while bathed in the light glimmer of the flames illuminating the cavern. She was one of the rare few who stood as tall as Arad at around three meters. "Are you going to use me to find another mate? I might just kill her then."
She looked at him with a smug grin, "Of course, I won't kill my mate's mate…. but we didn't do anything yet, so…" Her eyes were burning with fire.
Arad looked at her with a gentle smile, "I know, I know… you've been waiting for a long time. But we should find a quieter place, where no would disturb us." He reached forward and put a hand on her shoulder, and they both disappeared.

Minutes later, Arad was walking behind the castle, alone and with a distant look on his face. Soon, the light of life returned to his eyes, and he grimaced. "Well, now that's a problem."
He took a step forward and disappeared once more. This time, he landed in the middle of the forest on the other side of Alina. He could already smell blood and hear countless monsters howling, their chilling roars shaking the air.
There in the middle of the trees, he could see Ignis, Agnar, and Yuwaku fighting a group of large monsters. They were surrounded by several armored elephants that could breathe fire out of their long trunks.
Yuwaku was powerful, but controlling her power was hard, and making sure not to harm the other two was just as difficult. Agnar was taking the lead in the battle, swinging his sword like a valiant knight. The title of the blade of the capital wasn't wasted on him. And Ignis was jumping from one tree to another, gliding with her wings and using her draconic breath to attack the elephants.
The problem was simple: they were losing, and fast. Ignis's breath was growing weaker after overusing it, exhaustion was already eating away at Agnar, and he seemed to have taken a hard hit to the chest; some of his ribs were broken. And Yuwaku was a hair's breadth away from being forced to turn into her Nymph form.
Arad was currently hiding behind the trees, completely masking his presence and watching the fight. Arad wanted to just jump in and save his two daughters, but Agnar seemed to be just as determined to protect them.
Standing there, Arad wanted to see what the little boy could do.
