The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 248: Life On Line (2)
Chapter 248: Life On Line (2)
When Arren gradually immersed himself in the dream, Ms. M, who was supervising him, stood by his side. A few seconds later, she tried to call Arren’s name, but he wouldn’t answer.
Ms. M immediately knew something was wrong, as he couldn’t communicate with Arren. In this state, it was possible to ask his patients what they were seeing in their memories, and this also gave them the sign if they needed to wake them up.
However, Arren was really a special case, as he began to be thoroughly immersed in them. At first, Ms. M only observed him, but as he began whimpering from what he was possibly seeing in his memories, she now began to be nervous.
Something was different while she tried to wake Arren. If this continues, she would have no choice but to inform His Majesty about what is happening.
Yet as this decision crossed her mind, Arren, who was whimpering, woke up. This session lasted not even five minutes. But she was really relieved that Arren woke up on his own.
However, she wasn’t relieved for long, as Arren’s condition didn’t seem right. Ms. M immediately attended to Arren, who woke up but was still sobbing as though he wasn’t fully awake yet.
"Young Master Arren?" Ms. M didn’t touch Arren recklessly as she wasn’t sure what was happening to him, and doing so might even have an opposite effect instead of calming him down. Although she was closer to him and made her voice gentler.
A few seconds had passed. Arren stopped sobbing as he lifted his head and looked at the elder woman. There were still fresh tears on his eyes and cheeks, and some new ones continued to fall on his eyes. Aside from those, Ms. M could tell that Arren had now woken up and grasped reality.
She touched Arren’s back and rubbed it gently. "It’s fine; what happened is all in the past. You’re safe now." Ms. M could only say a few encouragement and comfort words.
That was the most typical thing they could say to the patient, but she was also blind to what Arren encountered inside the dream. She chose to stay silent and not add any more words as she waited for Arren.
Arren blinked, and tears fell from his eyes at this action.
"Past?" he muttered in a weak tone; his voice also sounded weak and hoarse. "My past?" he repeated as though absentminded and not convinced.
Ms. M might not know what happened, but this session was all about uncovering the deepest and most painful memories in the subconscious, so she was sure of her answer. She nodded and continued to calm Arren down.
"Yes, it’s the past. While I don’t know your experiences, I won’t invalidate them. Everything is in the past, Young Master."
From her perspective, Arren had become so immersed in what he saw that it was somehow harder to pull him into reality, so he was confused about what was real.
During her years of experience, it was also necessary to pull the patient’s consciousness from the dream after the hypnosis session. Since even a lingering effect of it could have an influence on their mental state.
There was still obvious confusion in Arren’s eyes, but it was different from Ms. M’s speculation. A lot of times, it was really difficult for Arren to pull himself from the ream and return to reality. He was more or less used to this scenario.
In theory, as this happened a few times and he was familiar with the process, Arren should be able to easily pull himself into reality. However, together with what he saw and Ms.M’s words, Arren was taken aback for a while and became lost in thought.
This session was about uncovering his past’s memories; it made sense to think that what he saw was the past. However, it wasn’t. It was the real Arren’s life and experience.
But why did he have the feeling that this angle of thinking was also wrong? It was as though he was missing something or some sort of clue that he could still not grasp after a long while.
Arren touched his temple, which had begun hurting; what he saw was just too much. Aside from the vivid feelings and the pain of that memory, even the shock after he saw Princess Coreen was enough for him to be exhausted.
He couldn’t even continue his thoughts and lay down while rubbing his temple and closing his eyes.
Ms. M observed Arren, and seeing that he stopped crying and his complexion wasn’t pale anymore, she sighed in relief. If Arren’s state continued to the point where it led to a full disassociation, she wouldn’t hesitate to call His Majesty.
She continued to watch Arren and waited for the omega to say something.
A few minutes had passed, and when Arren finally opened his eyes, his gaze instantly landed on the elder woman who was watching him from the side.
A weak smile curled on his lips before he sat again and opened his mouth to speak.
"I’m sorry," he apologized. "I made you wait," Arrenn added.
Ms. M only gently smiled and sat next to Arren.
"It’s fine. I can understand," she responded.
Arren still lowered his head and stared at his fingers; the image of his miserable self once more flashed in his mind. He couldn’t help but clench his fist as it shook from the rising emotions.
"What did you see, Young Master?" After a while, the gentle voice of the elderly woman reached his ears and asked.
Arren lifted his head and looked at Ms. M, but he didn’t respond immediately. In his silence, the elderly woman seemed not to take it personally and remained smiling.
"It’s okay if you don’t want to tell me," she sincerely said. Although it was better to tell her so that she could give an accurate answer, it wasn’t truly mandatory. If it was not convenient, the omega could choose not to tell her.
He looked at Ms. M and licked his lips; there was some hesitation in his eyes. But in the end, he sighed.
"Can I... tell Spade first?" What he saw was truly sensitive, and the fact that he also saw Princess Coreen was enough not to tell the elderly woman.
At least, if there was someone he wanted to tell firsthand, what he saw was Spade. There were a lot of questions in his mind; some of them were still hazy for him. The fear was still there, but because of what he saw, this lessened significantly.
The older woman nodded with understanding.
Arren smiled, deliberated for it, but still continued in the end. freewebnoveℓ.com
"Ms. M, can you... keep what happened a secret for now?"
Arren knew that if his father or Spade knew that he cried as soon as he woke up from this session, they would be worried for him. They were already in a crucial moment, and the two were so busy. Arren didn’t want them to be distracted; he would tell them himself.
MS. M looked at him; there were some questions in her eyes, but she still relented. "Okay, if that’s what you want, I’ll keep it a secret, Young Master. You can rest assured."
They had to stop the session, and Ms. M told him it would be a while before they could attempt again because of what happened. They needed to prepare Arren more, as his deepest memories seemed much harder to recall than they anticipated.
Arren talked to her for a while before they called it a day.
He decided to tell Spade that night about what he saw in the hypnosis session; he had the feeling that he had to. However, Arren didn’t have an opportunity to do so.
The battle in the frontlines finally escalated into a full assault, something even Spade had not anticipated.
