The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 254: History Repeats Itself (1)
Chapter 254: History Repeats Itself (1)
Spade frowned, and his heartbeat rapidly increased as this uneasiness inside of him grew. He was already pacing around inside the tent. The battle outside was also reaching the breaking point; the sounds of firearms or even explosions couldn’t even make it to his concern.
"Call them again." Spade ordered Serrien; he only called a few minutes ago, but he couldn’t ease this worry inside of him. Perhaps it would only fade after he talked with Arren.
There was still work for him to do and even responsibilities that he needed to attend to as the reason he came, but Spade couldn’t care less at this moment. There was only one thing on his mind: Arren’s safety.
Although his mind couldn’t focus on the battlefield, that didn’t mean his subordinates were the same. The victory in this battle was inevitable, but Spade still couldn’t shake the feeling that something was odd.
His brows furrowed, loosening his suit. Spade couldn’t sit still as he kept pacing around.
"Serrien?" he called out again, this time with impatience in his tone. He raised his head and looked over, only to meet Serrien’s panicked eyes.
Spade froze; an unprecedented fear clouded him once more. A fear that he often felt whenever Arren was involved. He didn’t know what was going on, but his eyes blankly stared at Serrien, waiting for him to talk.
Serrien swallowed; an unimaginable lump had now made its way into his throat, making it hard for him to talk clearly and even harder to breathe. Yet seeing those piercing eyes looking at him, he had to speak, no matter what.
"Y-Your Majesty... the palace... something happened in the palace." It took all of his will to finish his words, as the moment he opened his mouth to say something, the oppresive and dangerous pheromones from Spade surrounded the whole room.
To be able to affect an Alpha like Serrien, Spade’s current mood couldn’t be described by one word or two.
"Say it again..." Spade’s tone was deep and low. While his tone seemed calm, this made it more terrifying. It was as though it were only the calm before a horrifying storm.
A chill crept down Serrien’s spine, enduring the pheromones that were forcing him to submit. Being with Spade for many years since they were a kid, he hardly saw him lose control of his emotions.
And this time was one of those rare occurrences. Spade was on the verge of crumbling the limit he set for himself.
"The palace has been infiltrated." Serrien didn’t know how he got the calmness from his tone, despite the fear that was enveloping his whole body.
It only took a moment for the hell to break loose completely.

Arren had long since passed out. The Princess and the Duke trailed the same path they took to infiltrate the palace. It was only one of the many hidden paths in the palace; their pace was hurried, and one of the men with them carried the collapsed Arren on his shoulders.
There were only four of them, and most of the men were left behind to fend off the empire’s forces to delay and let them escape. All of this was also in their plan somehow, as those men were agents ready to sacrifice themselves for the organization.
However, some of their plans also turned awry as they were discovered earlier than they intended. It was because of Arren’s actions that they had to hurry up, lest their escape routes were compromised.
Duke Merhen seemed collected and confident outside, but he still had a lingering fear when he thought of ’that person’ whom he served for over a decade. He had to admit that, as someone who had already served three emperors, that person held the biggest impact on him.
Perhaps the Marquis, who was now the current leader of the organization, was on par with him. However, for some reason, Duke Merphen had this impression; even the Marquis couldn’t compare to who was the crazier. Although he often shrugged off this thought, he had no evidence, and maybe this impression was only the result of his fear.
At this point in time, the battle in the palace was almost being suppressed. All of the royal guards were concentrated in the palace, and the military and authorities were already ordered to seal off any routes exiting the palace’s periphery and even the capital.
The Duke glanced at Arren; his eyes were sharp, and his resentment at this brat was not small. If only he hadn’t created such commotion, they’d already left this capital long ago!
His hand itched, and even knowing that this omega was sought after, the Duke all the more wanted to hurt him and ruin him. While these thoughts flashed in his mind, a sweet voice sounded beside him.
"I advise you to stop what you’re thinking. You don’t want to earn my husband’s ire, right?" The sweet and playful tone seemed to lack any sense of urgency at all.
Duke Merphen’s eyelids twitched, and his wrinkled face seemed to even become twisted as his irritation became obvious.
"I don’t dare, Your Highness." Duke Merphen spoke respectfully, yet he also didn’t hide his contempt. He had long despised this princess, who was only a puppet of the Marquis; he even mocked how she appeared like an obsessed princess with truly insane peculiarities.
Princess Noreen only smiled and didn’t expose him or care about what he thought at the moment. However, looking into it deeply, no one really knew what was on her mind.
Their pace increased, and even Princess Noreen, who seemed casually indifferent to what was happening did the same. By now, the news of the infiltration in the palace or Arren missing had reached that person’s ears, they had to escape as soon as possible. freeweɓnovel.cøm
A few minutes later, the end of the path was already visible to them. They cautiously tread on. Duke Merphen held his breath, and sweat dripped on his forehead. Only after they were in the safe distance would he feel at ease.
He looked at the man beside him who was holding Arren and nodded. The man seemed to understand and stepped back. Arren was the most important at this moment. Duke Merphen was furious, but this was a fact, and if he failed in this mission, he wouldn’t dare return as well.
He clenched his fist. If he was unable to make this brat in the headquarters, he had no way out anymore. Duke Merphen was determined to succeed; no, he had to.
Princess Noreen only observed as if she were a mere bystander and Duke Merphen wasn’t hoping for anything from her. Signaling the man behind him, they slowly moved forward, and at the end of the path was a wooden ladder.
Duke Merphen climbed up first, and the two followed him silently. It was the same place where they used to go inside the palace, yet he had no way of knowing if the ones who would be welcoming them were the same people.
Leaving the basement, Duke Merphen looked around and finally sighed in relief.
"Your Grace, you’ve returned." One of his subordinates welcomed them.
Duke Merphen only nodded and didn’t stop. "Let’s go!"
They were pressed for time. And looking at Arren, who was still asleep, the men inside also prepared themselves. Soon, the group left an inconspicuous old factory in the suburbs and drove away from the capital.
