The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 276: Arren and Spade 8
Chapter 276: Arren and Spade 8
Of course, after he had his ecstasy, came the slap of reality.
So what if the emperor liked him? He still rejected his feelings for some reason and didn’t seem to have any intention to pursue him.
Arren couldn’t understand, and he didn’t want to understand. Perhaps because of his age? He wasn’t sure. So even though he was more or less convinced of the alpha’s feelings, he had no intention to return to how he was before either.
He liked him, yes. Arren had not become a denial hypocrite just because he was heartbroken; he admitted fully that his feelings for the emperor were still there, holding him in a firm grip.
However, he still had respect for himself. After realizing the possibility of the alpha’s feelings, Arren became calmer instead. He had come to the decision that if things turned out well for them, Arren wouldn’t be the one to make a move this time.
Perhaps, he wanted the emperor to take the initiative. Either way, Arren had chosen to go with the flow. In any case, he was indeed young. What was wrong with enjoying his youth?
And that was what Arren did. Months later, the Duke had become convinced that his son had finally entered his rebellious stage. Although it might be a little late compared to others, it was true.
Arren, who had been obedient in recent years, had suddenly taken a great turn. Well, it wasn’t that he became extremely bad, but he still surprised his father with this change.
One day, Arren returned home sporting his newly dyed, dazzling blonde hair. When he entered the mansion and his father saw him, the Duke nearly fell from his chair after seeing him.
Arren merely smiled at his dad while flicking his hair. "What do you think, Dad? It’s good, right?"
Indeed, it was. Arren’s blonde hair complemented him really well and even emphasized his features. What more could Duke Evan say? He could only agree.
The frequency of Arren’s nights out and trips with his friends increased, to the point that it came off as rare that he was home for once. While these changes made Duke Evan apprehensive at first, considering Arren had never neglected his studies, he became indulgent toward his son.
In the first place, Arren had always been an extrovert, and socializing seemed to be his second nature. One thing that changed as well was that Arren had also become distant from events that might be related to the royal family or emperor specifically, including but not limited to palace banquets.
The Blue Moon of the Empire thus became widely known during this time.
This went on for about a year until Arren was only a few months away from his twentieth birthday.
On a Sunday morning, Arren woke up in a bit of a daze. Just last night, he returned a bit wasted, which even earned a scolding from his father. To be fair, he did abstain for a couple of months from drinking as he was busy in school.
There were a lot of reports, projects, and even exams. He came to indulge in surviving all that and having his exhausted mind rest from all the knowledge Arren didn’t even know he could use in his future.
Rubbing his temples and the space between his brows, Arren had only brushed himself and washed his face for a bit before he decided to come downstairs and perhaps drink some hangover soup.
Still, in his pair of pajamas, Arren, who looked rather sleepy, walked sloppily. He also brushed his slightly wet hair, which was now dyed blue. After his first experience dyeing his hair, Arren had grown to love it and had been doing so ever since.
The color blue was a bit more eye-catching than blonde or gray, but he liked it even more.
He went straight to the kitchen and politely requested his breakfast, which was immediately granted. Arren only ate in the kitchen aisle, and when he was completely stuffed, did he bother to ask.
"Auntie, where’s Dad?"At first, he wasn’t too concerned about this. "Did he already eat? Or is he still in his office?"
Of course, Arren was merely asking this, as there was no way the Duke would be eating late like Arren.
"Yes, Young Master," the auntie smiled a smile that was rather giddy. Arren was a bit curious as to why, and sure enough, she continued. "His Grace already ate with His Majesty earlier," she exclaimed in a proud and excited tone.
Arren couldn’t even bother with her expression, as his mind had immediately become occupied by this information. His expression took a sudden turn to become extremely incredulous.
"H-His MAjesty? He’s here?" Arren almost shouted it in shock and even thought he was still dreaming at this point.
What the hell was the emperor doing here in their mansion? Okay, he might come with his father, but couldn’t the emperor call for him in the palace like he always did?
The more he thought, the more Arren felt everything was ridiculous.
The auntie was slightly startled by his reaction but still nodded.
"Yes, Young Master. His Majesty arrived earlier." She then mused, "I think His Grace was also surprised when he arrived."
Arren’s eyelids seemed to be twitching for some reason; it was as though he was having a bad premonition. This situation was indeed odd. And with the servant’s words, he came to the conclusion that even his father was not informed of the emperor’s visit.
He came here unannounced. Seriously?
Arren licked his lips and leaned a bit forward, as though he were afraid his voice would be heard by someone.
"Auntie, where are they right now?"
"They went upstairs to your father’s office."
After confirming it, Arren thanked her for the meal and decided to immediately return to his room. He didn’t want to encounter the emperor at all! Who cares what he was doing here?
Arren straightened his clothes, including his pajamas, and he sure hoped that he wouldn’t bump into the emperor even more now. He was only in their mansion, so he had no reservations about running around in only his pajamas.
How would he know that his emperor was here at this moment?
He roamed his eyes around and confirmed there was no one on the first floor, or at least on his way to the stairs. Arren felt relieved at this and increased his pace.
However, when he was about to pass by the second floor, he almost froze where he stood, as the person he didn’t want to meet was already walking up the stairs. At his side was the Duke, speaking something while he listened, but sensing a gaze on him, the emperor’s eyes shifted ahead.
Specifically at Arren, who was still standing next to the stairs. For a moment, their gazes met, and Arren was almost devoured by those deep amber eyes in a span of a few seconds if he hadn’t immediately regained his thoughts.
Damn, did I already spend all my luck meeting him like this? How in the world are you here, Spade Remmington?
Arren gnashed his teeth, glaring at the person who had the audacity to stare at him with such intensity that it made Arren melt, his heart increasing at such a pace as though... reminding him of his first love.
