The Emperor's Omega Is An Extra-Chapter 297: Heated Confessions (4)
Chapter 297: Heated Confessions (4)
Arren had never thought that this life would give him such a surprise when he was only stressing about not being embroiled in the plot and meeting the main characters.
To him, life was that simple before, and then before he knew it, he was getting involved in more problems that he didn’t even dare imagine. Arren knew that it was fate.
All of these things would happen because, technically, they all happened before and they all just returned to the past.
"The change starts with me." Arren laughed and looked at Spade; their eyes flickered with knowing light. What he did seemed to be the real start of all this change. freёnovelkiss.com
Arren had not met Spade when he was thirteen because he was already too busy not to meet the main characters, which included Spade. Although he had to admit that it was quite disappointing that their years of memories had not happened in this current life, what made him assured was that both of them could remember it.
The two reminisced about their memories together; they smiled and laughed from the first half as Arren poured out his impression of Spade when he was younger.
"I’m sorry." Spade hugged him, apologizing again for breaking Arren’s heart many times before.
Arren cupped the alpha’s face and chuckled.
"As I said, makeup to me by loving me more than you already have."
Spade closed his eyes and rubbed his face in Arren’s hands. At this moment, he especially looked like a tamed alpha in Arren’s eyes. He couldn’t help but smirk at that thought.
"Still, I got my revenge this time around, don’t you think so? Even if it’s only short."
Arren had not met Spade like in the original timeline, and instead, it was almost eight years late. Not only that, Arren also couldn’t recognize Spade’s face as the emperor.
"I love you." Spade only answered it like that, as though he didn’t want to answer, and Arren couldn’t help but laugh as well.
The memories and experiences they had in their previous lives seemed to only be nostalgic memories at this moment, even the sad ones that happened between them. Of course, it didn’t include the tragic one that happened in the later moments of Arren’s life.
Both of them decided not to discuss it in depth for the time being, which would ruin their mood, and it wasn’t an easy matter to reminisce about. As long as they knew about it, that would be enough. After all, it didn’t and would never happen in this current life.
They swore to each other.
Arren then proceeded to tell Spade his reason as to why he was so adamant to avoid him, which resulted in their not meeting earlier on. He had no qualms about telling Spade about his transmigration any longer.
"Can you believe that all along I always thought of this world as the world of a novel?" He started, tracing circles in Spade’s chest as he began to explain while the alpha listened to him intently.
Even now, Arren had not known the reason behind all of this or if this was merely a miracle or if someone had orchestrated their return, but no matter the answer, it didn’t matter to him that much.
He could even say thank you if there was indeed such a person who reversed the time for them.
"Spade, all this time I thought that this life was my second life. After my... Uhm, death, I transmigrated into this body, which is an extra in the novel I read. Actually, I have never even read my name mentioned in that novel and..."
Unexpectedly, Spade cut in while he was speaking.
"How did you... die?"
Death was something that Arren thought was simple, as he had experienced it once, so he only thought to at least die a little older this time around, but after remembering what they had been through, he knew that this was a complicated subject for them.
"I died due to heart failure," Arren answered in a weak voice while patting Spade as if saying he was fine now. And then he added, "I realized now that perhaps my life in that world was always destined to be short since... I’m forever a part of this world."
Arren had indeed thought so. His heart problems as soon as he was born seemed to be an indication of that. Arren was never complete, and most of his destiny was still in this world, only waiting to be awakened again.
Spade didn’t speak, only touching Arren’s chest as soon as he hugged him. His calm heartbeat was felt in the alpha’s touch. Arren was alive, and he was healthy.
"I’ll continue, Spade."
The alpha hummed in agreement.
Arren had told Spade about how he was under the impression of being an extra, so he tried his hardest to avoid being involved in the plot. This was the reason he never attended banquets, or that he refused to linger in upper society that much.
This was also the reason why Arren had not recognized the alpha, since he thought that knowing the faces of the important characters would bring him disaster earlier on.
"Remember when I told you about Curt and that event in the Moonlight Festival? It’s part of the knowledge from that book."
Spade fell into contemplation. Like Arren, he also had some questions about the origin of that book or even this whole situation.
Since, the beginning of the plot... Arren was no longer in this world then. It wasn’t possible that he personally witnessed it, and the whole novel was narrated from Rave’s perspective as the protagonist.
"You’re also suspicious of the reason behind everything?" Arren asked after he noticed that Spade was silent and seemed to be thinking of something.
Who was the author of that book? And wasn’t it really a coincidence that Arren had managed to read it before he died in that world?
Spade met Arren’s eyes and nodded, agreeing with the omega.
However, while he had some questions, that didn’t mean he was completely apprehensive about this whole affair. Whatever the answer was, Spade treated everything as a blessing.
"Coincidence or not," Spade lifted Arren’s chin as they looked at each other. The shadows outlined most of their features, but they never concealed the affectionate gaze their eyes expressed. "We have been given a second chance to be with each other."
If there was indeed such a person who had given them that second chance, Spade would thank them with his whole heart.
