Chapter 317: Reunion (2)

Ivo had the information but he didn’t have a huge force. Rave, on the other hand, had a considerable force but he didn’t have the exact information.

So, infiltrating this place before with only their capabilities was close to impossible.

However, that was not the case at the moment. Even though Ivo and Rave were said to be part of the mission, in truth, they were only given the opportunity by Spade to finish what they wanted to do.

As this mission was solely reliant on the military and huge armed forces, a single individual could hardly make a difference on this kind of battlefield.

In this part of the city, the empire army didn’t hold back at all, as there were no innocent households around them. However, they did make sure to be careful not to bombard some confirmed places, which could affect the operation and entrances underground.

The underground facility was what they were aiming for; demolishing this mansion was only the second priority. The mansion was only for its appearance; the real thing was underground.

"We will escort you." A robust man, holding an automatic rifle in his hands, approached them. "Please don’t leave our side." He also reminded the two.

The battlefield at the surface was about to conclude, but it was only starting to get heated up. The real battle would start underground. If it was fine, they could only let the father and son enter the scene after all of this was over for their safety.

However, that might be the best scenario for them, but certainly not the best one for what they came here for. They would never know what would happen if they delayed it or if the organization did something to their hostages.

Certainly, it wasn’t only the Marquis Amos who was imprisoned in this place.

"Alright, we will do as you say," Ivo responded to him and patted Rave’s hand, as though comforting him. He also did this for himself; he felt Rave also grasp his hand.

The man nodded, and then they were also handed a pair of guns. "This is also for assurance."

This was a battlefield, and the two needed protection not only from them, but it was ideal that they could also protect themselves in an unexpected situation.

The father and son took the guns and held them with their other hands. They were more or less acquainted with using guns, and the man didn’t need to tell them how to use them.

With final reminders, Ivo and Rave set out with a group of the imperial army. The battle on the surface had come to an end, with a few wounded people being dragged away as prisoners of war.

The mansion had now become dilapidated, and the surrounding villas were the same. The imperial forces surrounded this neighborhood and sealed it from bystanders, but the media were also seen reporting live from the side.

The entrance underground was also revealed to them and the whole world. After the exchange of gunfire earlier, everyone was convinced that this was a hideout for the organization. If not, how could they hold out and fight back with firearms that were beyond the capability of this small country’s military?

Rave vigilantly scanned the surroundings while holding his father’s hand with his left and a gun in his right hand. Even with military escorts, Rave was not someone who would depend on others’ safety, especially with his father with him. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

The underground base wasn’t small at all, and it had a huge space between hallways. The sounds of gunshots have not ceased since they came down. The organization forces were also fiercely fighting, and they were forced to shrink their space to further defend themselves from the imperial forces.

Ivo’s knuckles had also gone white. He was so nervous. This was also his first time here, and just seeing the bad environment here made him so sorry for his husband.

"Daddy’s going to be alright," Rave whispered. "We will meet him."

This time, it was Rave who comforted his father. They were equally nervous, and they could even feel their cold and sweating hands.

Ivo took a heavy breath and nodded. He didn’t say anything or conceal his real emotions from his son.

They were moving forward slowly, and they would occasionally stumble upon some corpses as the ground became damp even more with blood. The stench of blood in the air made them frown, but no one said a word.

"Be alert!" Someone suddenly shouted among the group; Rave and Ivo were also fast in their reflexes as they immediately took cover.

Although the forces head had already cleaned most of the organization’s forces, it was not impossible for them to encounter some wild ones. They were also so tenacious, like beasts, that even with so many wounds, they could charge forward as though they couldn’t feel any pain.

This was really the case. Old Order was an inhumane organization to begin with, and they were also especially cruel among their forces as they injected a drug to make their combat power explode.

Of course, no matter how tenacious and a suicide fighter they were, the army forces would shoot their heads first. Unless they were zombies, they were really dead after that.

They only encounter three people, who are soon apprehended and killed by the army. The underground facility was indeed so massive that the leader in front needed to cooperate with the forces in front to know the location of the prison.

With each passing second that they were inside, Rave and Ivo’s emotions were also increasingly agitated. Rave clenched his teeth at the thought that his father had been imprisoned in this dark and sinister place.

His hatred for the organization and its leader surged; his eyes nearly went red.

"Where?" The leader in front stopped and asked on the radio.

The person on the other line said the location. Their conversation wasn’t low, and this made Rave and Ivo’s ears perk up.

His father!

The leader looked back. "Let’s set off."

Once the information was relayed, they continued as the battle in front became more intense. The organization was using the core of the underground facility as its last defense line.

It was also the location that the imperial forces wanted to occupy at all costs. There were only illegal drugs that were made here, and some clues and evidence were also possible to gather here.

Rave and Ivo’s group were heading in another direction. The corpses on the ground became apparent as Rave and Ivo needed to even pass them as they were sprawled on their path.

Crying sounds could be heard, and the prisoners were being escorted outside. Rave eyed them curiously; some were also already so thin that their bones could be seen.

Some were still decent as if they had only been imprisoned recently. A lot of them wore lab coats, which means they might be researchers or scientists who rebelled.

When they entered a more sturdy cell inside, their thoughts were immediately drawn to someone inside. Both of them gasped at the same time and covered their lips.

Ivo’s tears also streamed down his cheeks as he went pale and almost collapsed. Rave hugged him, and they wept silently.

Inside, an elderly man was tied with iron shackles and had a muzzle on his mouth. Rave’s beloved father, Marquis Amos.
