The Gigolo System in the Academy of Magic-Chapter 32: One on One with Professor Helene
Chapter 32 - One on One with Professor Helene
The crowd was in the arena intently. If Ryan actually kneeled on the ground in front of the demons then the reputation of Ainsworth Academy and the House of Everheart would take a huge hit.
"Is this a magical ability?"
James' heart was beating fast. Even he felt the vague magical pressure, like facing a zebra facing a lion in the savanna. But at this moment his Abyss Walker bloodline stirred, and suddenly the pressure slipped through him like water. It was as though his body had turned to shadow, intangible, untouchable.
"It's his bloodline ability, using aura as a weapon to suppress the opponent. Quite useful."
Beside him, Professor Helene raised a single hand and released a trace of her aura. Instantly, the pressure in their immediate vicinity evaporated.
James nodded gratefully at her, and then looked to the arena. Ryan's whole body was shaking, as if there was a mountain on top of him, forcing him to kneel.
Amon, the red-skinned demon, didn't move. Instead watching Ryan with dispassionate eyes, as if all of this was inevitable.
Then, just when everyone thought Ryan would collapse, something unexpected happened.
A radiant flash erupted behind him, and a golden insignia burst forth from his back, expanding outward like a royal banner. Gleaming with sacred energy, the Everheart House Crest floated proudly in the air. It pulsed once - then surged with light.
Golden portals materialized above the arena, each one brimming with divine weapons—swords, spears, glaives, hammers—all pointed straight at Amon. For a moment, even the magical shield around the arena warped and cracked under the pressure.
It all happened too fast.
James's eyes widened, but before he could react, Helene beside him vanished from sight.
In the blink of an eye, she appeared again inside the arena. Black flames writhed around her like a demonic cloak, and a huge ghastly face formed in the air above her. The flaming visage opened its jaws wide and began to devour the golden weapons with a soundless roar.
At the same moment, Selena acted too. A radiant golden dome enveloped the student - demons and humans alike. The arena shield cracked and failed, but her barrier held firm, protecting them from the chaos outside.
The students watched in awe and fear as the golden armory was reduced to cinders, devoured by Helene's infernal magic. Slowly, the summoned weapons crumbled. The golden gates cracked and dissipated. Silence fell over the arena, now cracked and scorched from the clash of the two magical powers.
Ryan Everheart stood shakily on one side, sweat beading his brow, his face sunken and his eyes cold. On the other stood Helene, now positioned protectively in front of Amon, her expression unreadable.
Amon hadn't moved. There was not a scratch on him but he looked annoyed.
Ryan's lips curled into a mocking smile.
"What is the meaning of this?" His voice was weak but he still had an arrogant tone."Why is an instructor interfering? Are demons so weak they can't fight their own battles?"
Helene didn't even spare him a glance.
"The match is over," she said flatly.
Then, with a wave of her hand, she gathered the demon delegation and left.
The crowd erupted in whispers and confused murmurs. They hadn't expected that everything would end in this way.
James glanced at Ryan Everheart who was surrounded by people and his heart was cold. There's no way a level 2 mage could burst out with magic like that!
Was it the protection of his noble bloodline? But why was it so powerful?
It could actually last for a while against a level 6 mage! Even if he was from one of the Thirteen Houses this was too unscientific, how could his body withstand the pressure of such magic?
The more important thing was the question of motive...Ryan knew he couldn't win so he turned the table? He ended the match in this way so he wouldn't lose his reputation?
James felt there was something more than that but no one could answer his questions.
Eventually lessons continued, and the demon students didn't make any more appearances the rest of the day.
James half-expected Helene not to appear for her next class, but when he entered the lecture hall for 'Dark Enchantments and Magical Theory', there she was.
Seated casually at the front, dressed in a dark purple robe that hugged her curvy form flatteringly, Helene smiled as if nothing unusual had happened.
The lesson was mostly about the unique magic system of the demon realm. Rather than the method of human mages who used meditation to slowly improve their magic level, the demon's directly engraved magical enchantment on their bodies to bring out their bloodline abilities.
Of course, the methods were different but the end result was generally the same. The separation between low, mid and high level mages also applied.
In fact, when mid level mages engraved magic runes on their mana crystal they were using a similar mechanism to the demons, and high level demons and humans were both starting to deal with rudiments of rules.
As you went further on the path of magic one would soon realise that all paths lead to the same destination, as all rivers flow into the ocean.
The lesson was quite interesting, but the students were barely paying attention. After all, the demoness was too beautiful.
Most of the boys and a lot of girls had infatuated expressions on their face, and no one whispered or talked in class like usual.
When class ended, students filed out reluctantly.
James didn't linger either. He left with the crowd. He didn't want to attract too much attention - not after the previous public interaction with Helene. But once the hallway cleared, he circled back to the classroom again.
The door creaked open quietly. Helene was still there, seated at her desk, gazing at him with a teasing smile.
"I thought you forgot our appointment."
Her voice was sultry and intimate.
For some reason, she wasn't in her outer robes. Instead, she wore a tight black top that clung to her figure. Her chest was leaned forward on the desk, making her large breasts seem even larger. Her long black hair fell loosely over her shoulders, and the charming expression on her face seemed like it could snatch away all trace of one's soul.
James felt his heart beating wildly in his chest.
