The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 400- Without Walls
Chapter 400: Chapter 400- Without Walls
Sky Fall City sounded familiar to Sol.
After reading a few books, he found out it was the name of the city that was close to where he trained with his Master and had first met Son and the others.
Jianghu had made Cities, but Pearl City and Sky Fall City were two of the most well-known cities along with a few others. Though the focus on both had become greater in the past year.
For Sky Fall City, it was because that was where those from the Western Continent would pass through before entering the Eastern Continent.
There wasn’t just the younger generation from the Church and Royals Families that were crossing the border, and neither was Jianghu their only destination.
As for Pearl City, it became the main focus of a lot of people’s attention due to the news of the appearance of a living Immortal spreading.
However, now that the corpse of a dead Immortal Deity has been found, when it inevitably gets announced Pearl City is bound to become the focal point where old dormant monsters and young rising dragons congregate.
The Tournament was just a prelude, a rather substantial prelude given what was on the line might not be less than the corpse of an Immortal Deity.
As the two continued drinking, Sol was hesitating to ask another question, but after a moment he decided to just do it.
"Brother Byeong-ho, have you heard anything from Ji-Hoon and Heon-Tae?"
Byeong-ho’s hand stopped as he was about to take another sip of his wine. After a period of silence, he suddenly downed the remaining wine in the cup, and after licking his lips he said.
"No, I haven’t heard anything from those two."
Sol went silent. Even though Yoon-Jae and Mar-Dule didn’t say anything, they were all thinking the same thing, that perhaps the discovery of this Immortal Deity’s corpse might be related to them.
Suddenly, Byeong-ho spoke up.
"I don’t know if this is a part of his plan, to lure those from the Holy Sects and Great Clans inside, but I do know I won’t allow him to do as he pleases. Not now or in the future."
After a pause, Byeong-ho added.
"My Hushan Sect is not like it was in the past."
However, this statement sounded like he was saying this to himself. As if he was trying to convince himself that this was the case.
Sol remained silent as he didn’t know what to say.
Byeong-ho chose a path where he wanted to lead the Huashan Sect despite their past actions, while Ji-hoon wanted to wipe them out along with the other powers for revenge and start over from scratch.
Sol sighed inwardly as he realized a confrontation between Byeong-ho and Ji-hoon might be unavoidable in the future. He wondered if he would have the strength to change anything.
However, even if he had the necessary strength, he would find it difficult to force them to do anything against their will.
Especially after Yoon-Jae’s scolding.
Strength was a prerequisite, but in this situation, it wasn’t the only requirement.
’Master, this is all because of you.’
Sol sighed inwardly once again. However, he remembered this was what his Master told him, that there were too many nuances to conflict and that just having strength wasn’t enough. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Sol raised his hand and rubbed his forehead, he felt that this was a rather difficult problem to solve.
Byeong-ho glanced at Sol rubbing his forehead. He opened his mouth and said.
"Brother Sol, you don’t have to feel that this is your responsibility to solve."
Sol stopped rubbing his forehead and looked up at Byeong-ho before saying with a smile.
"It’s natural for someone to step in when they see two of their friends fighting. I really can’t just stand on the side and watch."
Byeong-ho went silent upon hearing that, but he couldn’t help but smile inwardly. He had never met someone like Sol before, it was hard for him to see through his thoughts and motives at times, but Byeong-ho never once felt malice from him.
If Byeong-ho had to describe Sol’s behavior, then he would say he had no walls.
Each person has a wall around them, and crossing that wall is equivalent to crossing their bottom line.
However, because each person’s wall was different in radius, one might cross a person’s wall without knowing it.
For example, an arrogant Young Master from a well-known background might have a wall as big as a city’s. Just showing an ounce of contempt towards them was crossing their wall, their bottom line.
They would even try to find a way to kill you for that transgression.
There were also some who had simpler bottom lines, like a family or loved one. No matter how much contempt you show towards them or how you treat them they might not hold a grudge. However, harm their loved ones and they would flip out.
But for Sol, it seemed like he didn’t have any walls around him. He was in the open for anyone to see.
No matter who it was or what was said to him his smiling expression never changed, and because of that he was approachable. But he also comes off as being naïve or innocent because of this,
However, at the same time, just because he didn’t have a wall didn’t mean anyone could barge in and trample over him. He would undoubtedly become spiteful of people taking advantage of the fact that he had no wall around him.
Worse of all, without a wall, without a bottom line to see, it becomes somewhat difficult to gauge his true emotions and thoughts.
You wouldn’t know whether you were a friend or foe to him.
For those truly close to him they would know as he would show it, but for those who weren’t, they would experience an unsettling feeling towards him, as if he could snap and kill them at a moment’s notice.
Byeong-ho had never been on the latter end of this since he had known Sol, so he didn’t know how that felt, but going forward in the future he would be happy to keep it that way.
Perhaps it was because of this feeling that he found it natural to follow Sol’s lead.
As Byeong-ho’s thoughts were swirling about in his head, he lifted his cup to take another sip of his wine but found that it was long empty.
Byeong-ho instinctively licked the edge of the cup to get the remaining drops out.
This cup was made quite well as the wine inside didn’t stick to the side and would flow out, down to the last drop.
Upon seeing Byeong-ho’s actions, Sol chuckled in amusement before waving his hand.
Another jar of wine similar in design to the first appeared on the table.
"Here Brother Byeong-ho, I’ll gift this one to you."
Byeong-ho was a bit embarrassed he lowered the cup from his lips, but he hesitated as he looked at the jar of wine.
"This is just a failed product so I might as well gift it away."
Sol said nonchalantly, but with that, Byeong-ho nodded and collected the jar of wine into his storage ring.
’Mar-Dule will probably get jealous after he finds out I gave Byeong-ho a jar before him. I’ll gift one to Brother Yoon-Jae and Brother Ushi too, but Brother Ushi would probably gift his to Brother Yoon-Jae.’
Sol smiled inwardly when he thought this before he said.
"Brother Byeong-ho, you likely intend to leave since it’s so late, let me walk you out."
Byeong-ho nodded and got up. The two then walked together as they headed towards the manor’s front gate.
