The Growth of a Titan-Chapter 413- As Young Men, It’s Only Natural
Chapter 413: Chapter 413- As Young Men, It’s Only Natural
After some time, Old Han led Sol, Mar-Yue, and Woo-seong down from the upper floors and towards one of the store counters on the bottom floor.
Old Han wore his amicable smile as he took the pipe from between his lips and said.
"With the two pairs of shoes the Young Miss has chosen along with the four later on, the total amount would come to three hundred and eighty million mid-grade Aether Stones."
Woo-seong’s face couldn’t help but twitch insistently when he heard that absurd price. Even the people who were nearby had to look over upon hearing that someone was spending so much in one go.
"Will you be paying with paper notes or Aether Stones?"
"*Snort*... Don’t you already know the answer?"
Woo-seong snorted and said under his breath.
Mar-Yue glanced at him not sure what he meant. However, Sol spoke up at this moment saying.
"I’ll be paying with Aether Stones, but since I don’t have any mid-grade Aether Stones, I would have to convert everything to high-grade Aether Stones." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"I see."
Old Han said, the amicable smile still on his face.
However, Woo-seong was in the back, glaring daggers at Old Han while grinding his teeth so hard his gums hurt.
Without much reluctance, Sol took out a simple storage bag and handed it to Old Han. Old Han took it and casually swept the inside with his Soul Energy. Even though the expression on his old and wrinkled face didn’t change, his old heart skipped several beats out of excitement.
With all of those mid-grade Aether Stones converted into the highest currency, that amounted to a staggering seventy-six million high-grade Aether Stones!!
Even as the manager of the store, that amount was simply absurd.
No doubt the person behind him will be satisfied.
Looking up at Sol, Old Han handed over the purchased shoes and said warmly.
"Young Master and the Young Miss should return to our Rising Pheonix Palace to shop in the future."
"Who would do such a thing?"
Woo-seong mumbled under his breath before he turned and left first. He had wanted to stop Sol, but he controlled himself. He knew Sol was no fool.
Normally, one would convert a hundred million mid-grade Aether Stones into high-grade Aether Stones during big transactions, however, there was a damn limit when doing so.
Who would convert such a large amount of mid-grade Aether Stones into high-grade Aether Stones as Sol did?
At most, one would convert one hundred million into high-grade Aether Stones and then pay the rest in mid-grade Aether Stones.
Aether Stones weren’t only used as a currency, but in cultivation as well. In this case, high-grade Aether Stones were more precious than mid-grade Aether Stones.
However, because Sol only had high-grade Aether Stones, he had to convert so many mid-grade Aether Stones when it wasn’t worth it.
Woo-seong hated that old man because he was still acting oblivious when he knew Sol only had high-grade Aether Stones from the female attendant at the other store.
Smiling, Sol nodded at Old Han before he turned to leave while holding Mar-Yue’s hand.
Old Han watched them go, still smiling.
Outside, Mar-Yue glanced at the enraged Woo-seong before looking at Sol who seemed to be in deep thought.
"Is something wrong?"
Sol snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Mar-Yue. He smiled reassuringly while saying.
"Everything’s fine, is there another store you want to visit?"
Mar-Yue nodded.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!"
Mar-Yue giggled at Sol’s overenthusiasm before she pulled on his hand and decided to lead the way this time.
As the group headed for their next destination, Sol went back into his thoughts.
He was thinking about their time in the store. Something was making him feel uneasy, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
However, as he calmed down and analyzed everything in detail, it didn’t take long for him to realize what was bothering him, and Sol’s face instantly darkened.
’Seong, it seems like you were right, something is going on with these stores.’
Sol sent Woo-Seong a soul message.
’Brother Sol, I tried to figure out what they were up to, but I couldn’t find anything suspicious other than that bastard being good at convincing people to buy his overpriced items.’
Sol was still being pulled by Mar-Yue to another store. His expression turned serious as he said.
’I did, do you remember the price of the other items next to the ones we bought on the upper floors?’—Sol turned to look at Woo-seong to his left, who nodded—"Then don’t you think it’s weird that the price for them was so low compared to the items we bought?"
When Sol said this his eyes unintentionally narrowed into slits, but that wasn’t able to obscure the dangerous light that suddenly shot out of them.
The moment Woo-seong heard Sol’s words, he understood. That old bastard had actually increased the price of the items they knew they were likely going to buy, that’s why the price of the items next to them seemed so low.
Woo-seong clenched his fists and gritted his teeth so hard one could hear a grinding sound.
’Those bastards, they dare to cheat us? Brother Sol let’s go back and immediately flatten their store. Even if they’re backed by a Holy Sect or Great Clan, they wouldn’t dare look for us for trouble after what their store did. In fact, they would have to take responsibility and compensate us or else no one would want to buy from their stores in the future.’
It was safe to say that Woo-seong was more than angry at this moment. When thinking back on the amount of Aether Stones Sol just spent, his heart couldn’t help but bleed blood even though it wasn’t his money.
They had actually been scammed!
’No, we already purchased the items, and we have no proof that they hiked up the prices.’
Woo-seong frowned but soon became anxious.
’Then what are we going to do brother Sol? Are they just going to get away with it?’
"Haha..."
Sol couldn’t help but let out a chuckle openly before he sent a soul message.
’I absolutely hate being on the losing end. I’m the one who cons people, not the other way around. After taking Mar-Yue out today I was planning on finding a way to restock my Aether Stones, so this is perfect. Don’t worry, I have a plan.’
Hearing this, Woo-seong started to feel a bit excited.
However, as the two were busy having their mental conversation, they didn’t realize that Mar-Yue had brought them to a specific store. She had released Sol’s hand and entered by herself, but Sol and Woo-seong instinctively followed her in.
Immediately, shrill and startled cries of young girls and women echoed out in the store.
Sol and Woo-seong soon came back out running while dodging Sword Energy and Saber Energy attacks from an enraged crowd of pure, untainted maidens.
Thankfully, the formations on these stores and the two themselves were strong enough to resist these attacks.
The sword and saber attacks rattled the establishments nearby and drew a bit of attention from the passing crowd. Everyone looked at Sol and Woo-seong with strange expressions as they scampered out of the store.
Sol and Woo-seong looked at each other with a look of helplessness on their faces. They simultaneously decided to retreat across the street to get further away from the store.
"Little brothers, how bold of you two openly enter a women undergarment’s store in broad light."
"Right? Haha, I never knew kids these days were so daring. Has this generation gotten more eager perhaps?"
As Sol and Woo-seong stood on the other side of the street waiting for Mar-Yue, some adults who saw what had just happened made joking remarks towards them. There were a few youths around their age that joined in as well.
Sol and Woo-seong facing this onslaught couldn’t help but keep silent out of embarrassment. However, it seemed this only incited more people to make similar remarks.
After the twentieth person, Woo-seong couldn’t help but retort.
"Damn bastard, who are you calling a pervert?! You’re the pervert! Your father is a pervert! All the men in your family are perverts!!"
The middle-aged man Woo-seong’s words were directed at didn’t get angry, he only burst out laughing along a with few more people nearby.
"Haha, little brothers, don’t mind these people. None of them were any better when they were your age. As young men, it’s only natural."
Suddenly, an old man with a cane approached Sol and Woo-seong.
His back was slightly hunched, and his steps were slow. With the wrinkles on his face and his words just now, one would get the sense that he had experienced the many vicissitudes of life.
Sol and Woo-seong were thankful for the old man’s kind words, but he wasn’t any better as they really weren’t trying to spy on the girls changing inside the store.
Nonetheless, they were about to politely greet the old man, but suddenly a voice sounded from next to them.
"Brats don’t let this hooligan fool you. You better stay away from him before you get caught up in his retribution."
It was a wonder peddler who had set up a small stall here to get some business from the passing pedestrians.
He was a middle-aged man who had a slim build and an honest-looking face.
