Chapter 419: Chapter 419- Wei-sun

From the moment Woo-seong saw the stores with ’Palace’ in their names, he always had a nagging feeling that made him uneasy.

Now he knew why that was the case.

As the son and only child of the Wudang Sect’s Patriarch, he always considered the other geniuses from the Holy Sects and Great Clans as his rivals. So, he would always keep track of them, and because of that, he knew that Dae-hyun, the Young Master of the Jeagal Clan, personally owned a chain of stores that had pretentious names with the word ’Palace’ in them.

Woo-seong’s expression was solemn and he scolded himself for forgetting this detail. While living with Sol, he knew that Sol had gone to the Jeagal Clan to meet with Dae-hyun. After asking why, Sol told him about the matter between them.

Thinking about how they were scammed left and right at each store, Woo-seong gritted his teeth as it was likely Dae-hyun’s doing.

However, rather than Dae-hyun being the one who showed up now, it was this person called Wei-sun.

Woo-seong frowned as he looked at Wei-sun. He knew there was always someone following Dae-hyun everywhere he went like a shadow, but he didn’t have a deep impression of We-sun.

However, Woo-seong’s frown turned into a serious expression and his eyes couldn’t help but narrow.

He actually couldn’t see through Wei-sun’s cultivation.

It was either he was hiding it using some peculiar method, or his cultivation was far higher than his.

Woo-seong refused to believe it was the latter, but no matter which it was, it made his guard for this person rise.

Another thing Woo-seong noticed about Wei-sun was that when he was with Dae-hyun it was like he wasn’t there. He melded into the background so perfectly one would always overlook him.

However, now that he was standing here alone, Woo-seong wondered how he had ever overlooked him. Even though he was hiding his cultivation, Woo-seong’s intuition was telling him that Wei-sun was extremely dangerous.

It wasn’t the type of overwhelming and unreachable feeling individuals like Byeong-ho or Sol gave him, but a sensation that would make you stay up at night in fear of being off in your sleep.

It was extremely unsettling.

Wei-sun’s expression was still indifferent as he responded to Sol’s question.

"Brother Sol, I once held you in high regard as everyone did when they heard about your outstanding achievements. Who wouldn’t? You appeared out of nowhere to participate in the Martial Alliance Academy’s second trial and went on to climb the Heavenly Staircase, something only a few people had been able to do throughout the thousands of years the Academy had stood for."

Some of the people in the store who hadn’t known Sol’s identity were in a slight uproar.

Wei-sun didn’t mind the sudden loud chattering as he continued.

"However, that achievement of Brother Sol wasn’t what truly made me admire you, but it was the fact that you then went on to spar with Brother Byeong-ho without being any weaker than him. Even though no profound techniques were used in that spar, I personally heard Brother Byeong-ho claim you were no weaker than him then."

There was a bit of admiration in Wei-sun’s indifferent eyes as he showered Sol with praise. However, that bit of admiration soon disappeared to be replaced by coldness as he said.

"But who would have thought you would scheme against my Young Master’s store by fabricating evidence and making everyone believe the store sold items at a higher price than their original."

The crowd upon hearing that paused.

Was that really the case?

Woo-seong immediately snorted at Wei-sun’s claim.

"What a load of crap, the evidence is as clear as day. I came here previously to choose items for Brother Sol and Sister Yue, but after returning the price of the items was increased by over five times the amount. How do you explain that? Are you going to say the attendant told me the wrong price of all eight items?"

Woo-seong pointed his thumb at Li Mei who was standing at the edge of the crowd. Her body shook slightly after being pointed at.

She was about to open her mouth to say something, but all of a sudden, she stopped. She then instinctively glanced at Wei-sun before hurryingly lowering her head and remaining silent.

Wei-sun was calm as he said.

"At each of our stores in Martial Alliance City, not a single employee has gone unchecked by me before being hired. I made sure they were trained thoroughly. But of course, there is a possibility of the attendant making a mistake. However, I don’t believe such a thing occurred"—Wei-sun’s gaze landed on Woo-seong and bore into him as he said straightforwardly—"Rather, I believe you lied about the original prices."

"Haha..."

Woo-seong couldn’t help but chuckle.

"So you’re just going to twist facts and concoct such an absurd notion. Okay, why don’t we just ask this attendant and see if I’m lying? How about that?"

Woo-seong then turned to look at Li Mei who still had her head down.

"Huh? She’s remaining silent, I wonder who told her to do that?"

Woo-seong said as he turned back to look at Wei-sun with a sneer on his face.

The crowd of people witnessed this and thought it was weird as well.

However, Wei-sun remained calm. He looked at Woo-seong’s sneering expression before shaking is head.

"She doesn’t need to say anything to prove you lied. Woo-seong, the fallen son of the Wudang Sect Patriarch, you can’t be trusted."

The moment Wei-sun revealed Woo-seong’s identity, everyone’s expression in the crowd changed. Some had looks of disgust on their faces, while others had mockery in their eyes as they looked at him.

Woo-seong frowned.

"My identity has nothing to with the current situation."

"It doesn’t?"

Wei-sun pressed forward.

"After your Sect committed those taboo acts, they’ve fallen into ruins. You even had to join the Mercenary Association and risk your life on missions to raise money to help the Wudang Sect out of its current state. You even had to sell this..."

Wei-sun suddenly flipped over his palm and a black ring appeared in his hand.

Woo-seong pupils shrank when he saw that ring and fists unconsciously clenched. He asked in a hoarse voice.

"How do you have that?"

"How? Didn’t you auction it off in one of the small private auctions hosted by my Young Master’s Auction House?"
