Chapter 243: Green Jade’s Power

-----

“Who is this guy?! Wait, was he someone that came from the Gates a while ago?” Peperina tried to remember. “Bing Xue mentioned them briefly, a man with a jewel on his chest… Green Jade?”

As she resisted the psionic attacks with her armor encompassing her entire body and fusing with her flames, the superhero stopped attacking as Peperina confronted him.

“Why are you fighting me?! I am simply defending the planet from those monsters coming from the sky! They are trying to wipe out innocent people!” Peperina said.

“…They are my allies, so I must protect them,” Green Jade said, his face remaining stoic and calm. “The real question is why someone like you, who doesn’t come from this world, is defending it.”

“I might not originate from this world, but I am in debt to Bing Xue for what she has done to liberate my own world… And I am also her lover, so I must fight for her too!” Peperina admitted while growing redder. “S-So it’s my responsibility…! She gave me this task; she knew she could trust me!”

“Then I will have to simply eliminate you, as my lord desires,” Green Jade spoke with a very cold tone of voice, something that, despite never knowing him, made Peperina feel like there was something wrong with him.

“Is he being possessed by something? Was he brainwashed or something else?” As she thought that, Green Jade attacked.

His Green Psionic Aura shapeshifted into a gigantic set of mechanical cannons, charging electromagnetic energy and firing four massive beams against her.

“Ah!”

Peperina’s senses heightened as she spread her Mana, Ki, and Spiritual Aura everywhere around her, expanding her Senses and allowing her to evade incoming attacks one after another.

She successfully evaded all four beams, but like tracking missiles, the beams themselves suddenly began chasing her around the sky, even if they twisted around, which seemed completely illogical.

“Those aren’t energy beams like I know them; they’re created using his strange powers…! I suppose they can do many more things that normal attacks shouldn’t be able to.”

She gritted her teeth as Peperina suddenly spun in midair and descended rapidly, encompassed by blazing crimson flames. She pierced through all four beams, their lightning being easily reflected by her powerful armor, enhanced and strengthened using her {Worldsmith} Ability and also many high-quality materials from Bing Xue’s Inner Realm.

“HYAAAAH!”

As she roared, the little rabbit woman unleashed her blazing power at full, activating her Divine Blazing Heart, an Ability within her newly refined Immortal Physique that enhanced her firepower even higher than before.

Her massive hammer swung down, reaching Green Jade, who remained calm, quickly manifesting several shields stacked together, which rapidly shattered one after another.

CRAAAASH!

As they all broke, and the hammer should have reached him, Peperina realized he wasn’t there. Using the few seconds his stacked shields bought him, he quickly appeared above her, flying very quickly with his ability.

“You’re a troublesome foe, but it isn’t as if I hadn’t fought them before… Good thing I have the help and power of my Lord within me now.”

The hero smiled like a villain, and as Divine Primal Power started flowing through his body, Peperina felt an immense quantity of strength surging through his muscles.

“He has Primal Power?!”

Although Peperina was never able to bond with this energy and assimilate it unlike Mursha, who seemed very compatible, this man here could control it seamlessly, and what’s worse, it seemed stronger than the usual Primal Power she knew about.

“I won’t let you power up!”

Peperina rushed forward, using Worldsmith to manipulate the atmospheric air around her and push her through the skies at lightning speed.

FLASH!

As she reached Green Jade mid-transformation, she swung her hammer against him, destroying his stacked barriers and smacking his head as strongly as she could.

“{Infernal Explosion}!”

She unleashed a technique, infusing her flames into her hammer and letting them explode within the hammer the moment she hit a foe, a deadly explosive attack that dealt the most damage at point-blank.

BOOOM!

“Ungh?!”

Green Jade felt immense agonizing pain, groaning as he fell from the skies; his head had been dislocated and seemed to be twisted the other way, and yet he remained somewhat alive.

“Y-You…!”

As the Divine Primal Power continued flowing through him, his body was now three times as big, packed full of muscles, the green psionic energy wrapped around his body, fusing with the Divine Primal Power.

“You’ll pay for that!”

His Psionic Energy merged with Divine Primal Power, manifesting hundreds of aberrant prehistoric dinosaurs out of nowhere, fused into a monstrous, chimeric mass of flesh and fangs.

“GRYYAAARRRGGHHH!”

The monstrosity roared furiously; Peperina smashed it with her hammer, but more of this monstrosity appeared around her, constantly biting her armor and trying to tear her to shreds.

“Ugh! Aagh!”

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

She didn’t give up, though, pushing herself to her limits; her hammer moved rapidly, smashing the heads of the dinosaur monstrosity while breaking through the materialized illusion.

However, they seemed to be in a stalemate, as Green Jade smiled more confidently once he put his head back to its correct position; he quickly began releasing more and more prehistoric aberrations.

“The combination of Divine Primal Power into the Green Jade’s powers is more than I imagined!” He smiled, laughing. “I can feel so much more power now! Hahahaha! HAHAHA!”

His stoic face changed as he began laughing, revealing his inner sadistic self.

“Hm, this is not good. That girl’s going to get eaten alive at this point…”

Pablo, who continued fending off the other Saurians, but whose numbers had been reduced a lot, quickly waved his hand forward, using the souls, flesh, blood, and bones of the hundreds of Saurians his Death Gods had killed.

And then used them as a sacrifice to summon something even bigger, even more sinister, and even more terrifying.

“I guess I’ve got enough for you to come out,” he smiled. “Let’s do this.”

A gigantic magic circle opened before his face as it began spinning around, summoning pitch-black and red fog, and quickly manifesting something immense in size.

“{Divine Death God Call}: {Xolotl’s Divine Spirit Embodiment}”

A massive dragon-like monster manifested, over two hundred meters in height, with the head resembling that of a black wolf, covered in golden horns, and with four crimson eyes.

Its jaws held a massive knife made of black and red metal, and the rest of its long draconic body was covered by both black scales and black fur and decorated with gold.

Above its horned head, there was a huge floating crown resembling a white star, surrounded by smaller black suns constantly rotating around it.

The monster, whose fangs were huge and pointy, roared.

“ROOOAAARRR!”

Xolotl was the canine twin brother of Quetzalcoatl in Aztec Mythology, a fearsome God of Heavenly Fire and Guider of the Dead. He represented many things, but among them, he was seen as the Dark Personification of Venus, the evening star.

He was oftentimes depicted as the opposite of Quetzalcoatl and was seen as a sinister god of monstrosities, and although Pablo could never summon the actual Quetzalcoatl, he was capable of summoning his twin brother, of almost equal power within Aztec Mythology.

And Xolotl was, without a doubt, his strongest Summon.

“Ve a ayudar a esa chica.”

“GRRHHH…”

Xolotl smiled viciously through his sharp fanged maws, rushing into the skies while spreading darkness everywhere, and then as Peperina was being slowly overwhelmed…

“ROOOAARR!”

His gigantic jaws gnawed through the monstrous illusion created by the Green Jade; hundreds of dinosaur heads screamed in agony as they were torn to shreds by its deadly bite.

CRAAASH!

“W-What the…?!”

Green Jade gasped in disbelief as he saw the monstrous beast appearing out of nowhere, exuding a powerful divinity. He gasped as the consciousness of the Primal Saurian God felt the monster’s presence.

“T-That’s… A God?!”

“SHYAAAAGGH!”

Xolotl gave out a fierce, loud roar; from his giant jaws, endless darkness consumed the green psionic energy, and the countless dinosaurs were consumed by the darkness, burned through its nether flames.

“Ngh?!” Green Jade felt a sharp pain in his chest. “H-He’s burning through the psionic energy of the Green Jade?! I-Impossible! It is merely an energy that is constantly repurposed! How is it possible to burn through it?!”

“Amazing! That man summoned a god?!” Peperina composed herself after she was finally freed from the monster. “I see why Bing Xue only sent me here; she knew this man was here to defend the city with me…!”

“T-That damn thing! You dare burn through my own power?!” Green Jade grew furious. “DIE!”

Filled with wrath, the man rushed towards Xolotl, harnessing energy into his chest and then rapidly manifesting it into dozens of gigantic prehistoric serpents, which coiled around Xolotl’s entire body.

“Let me help you!”

Peperina rushed towards Xolotl, swinging her hammer and burning through the giant snakes, using {Worldsmith} to manipulate the air pressure of the nearby atmosphere and fire giant wind bullets, blowing away the snakes before they could completely entangle the draconic creature.

“GRRRHHH!”

Xolotl grew angered, opening its jaws and then releasing a giant breath attack, or something similar to that, as what emerged from its maws was nothing but hundreds—no, thousands—of wailing dead spirits merged with shadows and flames, covering the summoned illusion of Green Jade!

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

“Agh! D-Dammit! W-what is the meaning of this?!”

Green Jade saw as the wailing dead spirits began eating away at his psionic constructs, making them turn pitch black and fall into ashes, a power he had never faced before.

“T-This is…!”

Crack…!

And then he felt a tiny crack appear through his Green Jade, the source of his powers.
