Chapter 911: Chapter 911 Duan Family (6)

The convenience store’s owner has always been fond of Ruan Jiaojiao and was not scared when she saw her leading a ... wolf over, even tossing a steamed bun from the morning cafeteria to Rou Rou.

By the time they finished buying snacks and were ready to head back, it was getting late. Ruan Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi were about to leave when suddenly a motorcycle stopped in front of them. This time, the rider didn’t drift towards them but stopped at a little distance ahead.

"Little sister, we meet again." Nie Xiaowu took off his Frog Glasses, lifted his chin, and greeted Ruan Jiaojiao.

Just as he finished greeting, he saw Rou Rou stepping out from behind Ruan Jiaojiao, his calves went soft with fright, and had it not been for Duan Shaowei behind him supporting the ground, the motorcycle would have crashed.

Duan Shaowei glanced at Xiu Xi and was once again amazed by how similar his eyes were to those of the main Duan family, though he didn’t show it on his face.

He got off the motorcycle, and with the experience from last time, didn’t hurry over but stayed at a safe distance, speaking to Ruan Jiaojiao and Xiu Xi, "Little sister, little brother, can we chat for a moment?"

Ruan Jiaojiao, often called little sister, didn’t think much of it, but Xiu Xi, being called little brother for the first time, seemed displeased, his cold gaze swept over Duan Shaowei, causing him to unconsciously tense up.

He tried to muster a seemingly gentle smile, "Don’t be afraid, we’re not thugs."

"Yeah, little sister, keep a tight hold on that wolf, don’t let it go," Nie Xiaowu nervously said from behind the parked vehicle, watching Rou Rou intently, ready to run at any movement.

"If you want a car, talk to my dad, why do you need to talk to us?" Ruan Jiaojiao wasn’t scared, it was still light out, and there were quite a few people on the street; if they dared to pull anything, she would scream.

Duan Shaowei’s gaze landed on Xiu Xi, pointing at him, "I’d like to have a few words with this young friend."

"Brother Xiu?" Ruan Jiaojiao looked at Xiu Xi, then back at Duan Shaowei, and whether it was her misconception, she felt that Duan Shaowei looked at Xiu Xi with a fervent gleam in his eyes. She instinctively grabbed Xiu Xi’s hand, as if that could prevent him from being snatched away.

"Yes, you’re Xiu Xi, right? Can I have a word with you?" Duan Shaowei asked, looking at Xiu Xi.

Xiu Xi didn’t respond, just coolly looked back at him, making Duan Shaowei, a grown man, shiver all over from the chill, not to mention Nie Xiaowu, who was originally spineless.

Duan Shaowei felt that such a gaze and presence from Xiu Xi fit his identity, reaffirming his own suspicions.

He even couldn’t contain his excitement and blurted out, "Young man, is your mother named Wen Yu? Is she?"

Xiu Xi scanned him from head to toe but did not answer, saying only one sentence: "Move aside."

Duan Shaowei was taken aback, then subconsciously made way. As Xiu Xi led Ruan Jiaojiao away and they walked farther, Duan Shaowei realized he had not yet answered his question, impulsively wanting to follow them, but at that moment Rou Rou was let go and, sprinting to their front, barked once, scaring Nie Xiaowu so badly that he jumped onto him like a koala, refusing to come down.

All he could do was watch helplessly as they walked away.
