Chapter 1117: Chapter 1117: Do What Needs to Be Done Well

"Sure, no problem!" Susu cheerfully agreed.

"Then it’s settled!" the Butler said with a broad smile, then winked at Lu Zhanyu who was standing behind Susu.

In order to protect their young master’s playmate and good friend, he spared no effort.

After reaching an agreement with Susu, the Butler immediately took the elevator down to the conference room, while He Beimu and Susu stayed upstairs.

After watching the Butler leave, Susu turned to Lu Zhanyu and said, "Okay, I’ll protect you. Now go back to your room and stay put. Don’t run around."

"Okay, I won’t run around," Lu Zhanyu obediently agreed.

Everyone returned to their rooms, but Susu was no longer in a playful mood; instead, she took on the role of a bodyguard.

Seeing her serious demeanor, Lu Zhanyu thought for a moment and said, "Actually, it’s fine. The management of the park is very strict; they won’t allow outsiders to enter."

Although he couldn’t remember his past memories with her, subconsciously, he hoped she could remain a happy, lively, adorable, innocent, and cheerful child instead of growing up too soon.

"That won’t do. You see, my Little Bodyguard is putting in a lot of effort now. To be a responsible bodyguard, you have to be diligent all the time."

"You’re still young; you don’t need to be like them," Lu Zhanyu explained.

"I’m not young anymore!" Susu immediately retorted, then pursed her lips and added, "I may be young in age, but I need to learn to grow up. If there are things to be done, they must be done properly, without giving up halfway or making excuses for myself."

She wondered if the big villain living inside her brother could hear her words; she wanted to tell him that she was no longer the clueless creature who only knew about eating and sleeping. She had learned a lot.

Lu Zhanyu was at a loss for words, not knowing how to respond, and felt an inexplicable sense of melancholy.

He didn’t know why he felt that way; even if he hadn’t lost his memory, he should feel happy for Susu’s growth and cognitive progression as her good friend.

"You’ve grown up," Lu Zhanyu murmured.

"Yes!" Susu nodded.

The two continued to stay in the room, silent, with hardly any conversation.

Suddenly, Susu heard a loud argument.

Intrigued, Susu raised her head and perked up her ears, her small eyes looking vigilant like those of a hunting hound.

She realized the noise was coming from the floor below, where many people were arguing.

"Little Bodyguard, they are arguing downstairs," Susu said to He Beimu.

"Arguing? You heard it?" He Beimu asked.

At that moment, he couldn’t hear anything.

The building was well soundproofed, theoretically muffling any arguments from downstairs; although noises like slamming tables upstairs might possibly be heard below.

Susu’s eyes flickered, "Oh, let me listen carefully again."

She thought she might have heard something others couldn’t.

Susu closed her eyes and began to concentrate, gradually gaining a bird’s-eye view of her surroundings, seeing every nook and cranny clearly.

She then started exploring towards the floor below.

She slowly made out the situation downstairs.

Indeed, there was a group of people arguing, with Grandfather Lu, her second and third brothers, and Uncle Zhang who had just gone down.
