Chapter 653: Accepting his death

Elliana blinked her eyes at the body in front of her.

It was almost as if there was no skin left on Sebastian’s body. His entire body was covered in blood, his face distorted to the point it was even harder to make up his face and another whimper left Elliana’s mouth.

Her husband’s handsome face... What did they do to him?

"Mr. Marino, hey, I know I once told you that you were a terrible actor but it didn’t mean you had to show your acting skills to me like this. It’s done. Everyone has stopped fighting. Wake up," Elliana shuffled close to him and placed his head on her lap.

She held the hand that was holding the pendant she had once gifted him along with her photo.

A teary smile appeared on her face.

"You love this pendant a lot, don’t you? Do you remember how angry you had become when I pretended that this pendant wasn’t meant for you but for Lucas? You had nearly choked him to death with your glare. You were such a jealous man always," Elliana smiled as she wiped her tears.

"And this photo. I didn’t know you kept this photo with yourself. How many times have I asked you to delete this photo? I was looking really weird in this one," Elliana said.

Even when he was probably going through excruciating pain, he still tried his best to protect the belongings she gave him.

"Mr. Marino, that’s enough. You need to wake up now. There is a limit to my patience. You are making everyone worried now. Come, let’s go home. You promised that you would kiss me under the moonlight once the war would be over. Don’t tell me you forgot about it. Come," Elliana stood from her place with her hand still holding Sebastian’s hand.

She stepped ahead, but Sebastian didn’t move from his place.

The hand slipped from her hold, and the thud sound that followed next, made her heart thump loudly as she flinched in her place.

She looked around herself at all the people who were looking at her with pity and sadness.

"What’s wrong with you all? Why are you looking at me like I have lost my most precious thing? Oh, because of him? Don’t worry. He will come with me now. You have no idea how great of an actor he is," Elliana smiled before turning to look at Sebastian.

Everyone could see that her mind was in denial. She could see everything in front of her clearly, but her mind didn’t want to process the information. She was losing her sanity, and the thought alone pained everyone.

Her gaze followed Lucas, who was crying on the ground and she shook her head.

"Mr. Pablo, are you crying too? Tell me, you are in this plot too, right? Like the time when you and Sebastian had acted like that other woman for the throne. You guys need to stop, okay? This isn’t something to joke about. Ask him to stand now!" Elliana said.

"Elliana -" King Eros started as he stepped ahead, but before he could take another step, Elliana raised her hand.

"N-no. Don’t come close to me with that look in your eyes. I haven’t lost anything. If you really want to confront someone, then ask Sebastian to wake up. There’s a limit to everything. Is this the right place and time to act?" Elliana said, her hands started to tremble.

"Elliana, come here. We will wake up Sebastian together and -" King Eros tried again.

"No! He will wake up with me! My husband! He won’t disagree with me, he never had! Sebastian, wake up and tell them you are okay," Elliana raised her voice and Azura flinched at her daughter’s pained expression.

The tree’s branch was still plunged into Elliana’s hand, but she was so distracted that she didn’t even feel any pain in her hand.

"Elliana, you need to get a grip! Do you think Sebastian would be happy to see you like this? He sacrificed himself to save your life. And look at you holding onto him and hurting everyone including yourself. He is gone now. There is nothing you or anyone can do about it. We need to end this war and save everyone," Ari said and Elliana looked at the girl.

Nathaniel averted his gaze before shedding his tears. He couldn’t bear to see Elliana in so much pain.

It should’ve been him.

If Sebastian hadn’t pushed him away at the last second, he would’ve been dead. And probably the pain Elliana was feeling would’ve been lesser.

Seeing her acting so out of it was making him curse himself.

Why? Why did Sebastian have to come in between? Why didn’t he act on time and push Sebastian away?

No one actually loved him as much as Elliana loved Sebastian. Yes, Elliana held sisterly love for him, but she would’ve gotten out of it after some time or years, but this...

"W-what did you say? He sacrificed himself for me?" Elliana turned around and looked at the man who was lying on the ground peacefully.

"He is gone?" She asked, taking a step ahead.

"Gone where? Where did he go, leaving me here all alone?" Elliana asked as she looked around herself, the pain in everyone’s eyes finally registering in her mind.

They were mourning. Everyone was in terrible pain and wounded, but their eyes were mourning.

Who were they mourning?

Elliana looked at the body in front of her, raking her gaze from head to toe before her eyes settled on the heart of that man who was still.

Why wasn’t it beating anymore? Elliana gulped as Ari’s words echoed in her head.

"No one can do anything about it. He is gone!"

Elliana fell on her knees and touched Sebastian’s face.

"Blood. It’s my husband’s blood?" Her fingers trembled.

"What’s going on? You promised me you wouldn’t sacrifice yourself for me. You said that you would live for me. Didn’t you? You would never break your promise then... This..." Elliana closed her eyes as a painful shudder ran down her spine.

"Y-y-y-" Elliana blinked her eyes before she extended her trembling hand and placed it on Sebastian’s heart.

’I will always love you,’ She heard his familiar voice before it went silent.

It went silent. Dead silent.

"Mr... Mr... Sebastian, how could you -" Elliana struggled to speak as her body started to feel hot and everyone’s eyes widened.

"Azura," King Eros said, catching his wife’s attention as they saw their daughter’s body starting to glow.

Azura widened her eyes along with everyone who understood what was happening.

"No. No. No. No. Not my daughter too," Azura rushed ahead, but Elliana’s flow of energy started to shift negatively, rendering anyone unable to move forward.

"Eros, my daughter, she won’t be able to survive this. Please stop this. Please," Azura fell on her knees as everyone looked at the scene in pure horror.

"I... I loved you so much. How will I live without you Mr. Marino? You said we will love together for a long time," Elliana continued to talk despite the burning of her flesh she was feeling.

"Eros, do something!" Azura shouted while King Eros held his wife’s hand to stop her from going forward.

"I... I wanted you to live. I... I.... How could I... Aaaaaaaa!!" Elliana raised her head and screamed loudly as everyone saw her body glowing like a light bulb.

The intensity of her scream immediately wiped everything around her and Nathaniel and others realized what was happening.

"Quickly! Get everyone to vacate the area!" All the witches started using their teleportation techniques immediately.

Not only their team but Azrael’s team started to work on the teleportation too, forgetting about their animosity as they were working for the one common thing. To protect themselves.

"How could you leave me alone!!!" Elliana screamed, her magna powers doing straight to the sky.

The loud thundering and lightning strike that was burning with fire and dancing with Elliana’s scream immediately touched the ground, moving around like a tornado.

"Aaaaaa!" Elliana screamed even louder this time, hugging her husband’s body close to her heart as she wailed his death.

"Mr. Marino!!! Why did you leave me?!! Aaaaaa! You betrayed me!" Elliana cried as she tightened her grip on him while her tenth lock started to come undone.

The siren powers inside her that were feeling her pain started to rise above while Circe took the reins to destroy everything around her while their human counterpart mourned her husband’s death.

"Aahhhh! Hahaha!! Aaaah! Death! Death! I will ensure they get their death! Worse than yours!! They will get a death worse than yours!" Elliana cried mournfully, her tears turning bloody.

’This blood. Everything belonged to my husband. He won’t die. He will live. My husband has a long life ahead of him. He will live in the fear of everyone alive here,’ Elliana stood from her place, shedding skin like a reptile as her tenth lock, the strongest of all was coming undone.

She turned around and clicked her fingers, making a protective ten-layer shield around her husband’s body.

Elliana looked straight ahead at all the culprits who caused the death of her husband and her eyes lost the little life she had in them.

The dead bodies around her caught fire with the lightning strike tornado that was moving around, like a death rope from heaven that was attached with the hell.
