The Masked Vampire King's Accidental Bride-Chapter 684: Azura’s Dilemma
Chapter 684: Azura’s Dilemma
Ambrose, who didn’t know why his King suddenly asked him to turn the car in the right direction with a jerk out of nowhere, looked at the rearview mirror.
Seeing Miss Elliana partially sitting on his King’s lap because of the impact of the speed breaker and deliberate jerking, he finally understood what his King was trying to gain.
He couldn’t help but wonder if their king was really that cunning when it came to things like these or if it was some kind of improvement they were seeing for the first time.
His gaze briefly met with Lucas, who understood what was happening. He rolled his eyes at his king.
Talk about not being influenced by her. What was he doing now? Lucas suppressed the urge to scoff at his King.
"Are you okay, Miss Elliana?" Sebastian asked, and the girl blushed a little before nodding and getting down from his lap, her body alert to his every subtle touch.
The touch was probably not deliberate, and she was probably overthinking things, but the feelings that immediately seeped inside her heart were like none she had ever felt before.
It amuses and scares her how she feels these emotions only near this King. He has a weird way of making her feel raw and exposed.
"Are you okay, Miss Elliana?" Vincenzo asked, utterly oblivious to the interaction that took place between them in those few seconds.
"Yeah, I am good. Just taken off guard," She said.
Vincenzo felt a little guilty for barging into the car like this. He could see two men around her, none of them any less strong and muscular, which gave her limited room to be comfortable.
Sebastian looked at his brother from the corner of his eyes and rolled his eyes inwardly.
"If you feel too uncomfortable, I won’t have a problem if you continue to sit on my lap, Miss Elliana. You will have more room and comfort," Sebastian said.
Elliana, who was barely controlling her heart because she was sure these vampires would hear her fast heartbeat if it exceeded a particular limit, looked at Sebastian in surprise.
"Sebastian, is this any way to talk to a lady? How can you suggest something as atrocious as this to her?" Vincenzo scowled at his brother.
Even Lucas thought his prince was moving too fast, even if he was trying to find peace with his feelings. Such a pace was only meant to crash.
"What? I am just giving her a plausible option. She is my friend now. Her comfort is my responsibility. Of course, I will do whatever I can to get it. I am not the one who barged into a car to make her uncomfortable," Sebastian rebuked.
Vincenzo didn’t have a reply to his sentence because he was indeed at fault this time.
Elliana glared at the man who was so open-minded in the name of friendship and couldn’t help but feel a little bad for Vincenzo, who was only thinking about her.
She scowled before nodding at Sebastian.
"You are right, Mr. Sebastian. I am indeed uncomfortable. And regarding your suggestion about sitting on someone’s lap, I would definitely like to take up the offer," Elliana paused dramatically before looking at Vincenzo.
"Will you mind if I scoot over a little, Mr. Vincenzo?" She asked.
Vincenzo was definitely caught off-guard by her sudden question, but he did not deny her and just nodded in response.
Lucas looked at his King through the rearview mirror.
Sebastian’s expression was unpredictable. He wasn’t shocked by her rebellion. In fact, the way he was looking at her as she scooted closer to Vincenzo was only making his eyes burn.
Lucas could see his King’s laid-back attitude, and it was definitely not a good thing.
The way he was looking at her with a smug look in his eyes, the kind of look that meant nothing good, was concerning. His gaze was one of an upcoming storm brewing in his mind or some kind of plan he was making.
At the same time, in the dark witch kingdom, Azura walked to Nathaniel’s chamber, demanding answers.
"Nathaniel," Azura’s expression wasn’t good at all, and the man, who was having a meeting with Pluto about their next strategy to bring as many clans as they could together and join the same witch kingdom handling them and implementing rules could be more manageable, immediately looked up.
Judging from her expression, it was clear to him what kind of purpose she had in mind when she walked to him, and he sighed.
"Pluto, let’s continue this after half an hour. Why don’t you take a break?" Nathaniel asked.
Pluto, who knew about everything happening in the family because he had been a significant helper in the war, chuckled at Nathaniel’s helpless expression before nodding.
"I wanted to take a coffee break, too," he said, disappearing.
"What is it, mother?" Nathaniel asked.
He was getting used to the term slowly, and though it was still hard for him, he was progressing.
Azura was about to unleash her annoyance on him and calmed down a little when she heard the endearing name.
"You are my son, Nathaniel," Azura started. Nathaniel nodded his head a little, his lips twitching slightly.
"Yes, mother," He said.
Azura smiled before continuing.
"And as a son, don’t you think you should think a little about your mother’s happiness?" Azura asked.
Nathaniel knew where this was leading from the beginning but still feigned ignorance and nodded again.
"I should. What is it that upsets you, mother?" Nathaniel asked.
Azura was about to tell him why until she noticed his lips twitching slightly. A scowl appeared on her face.
"You are with them too. Why can’t you guys allow me to see my daughter just once? I promise I won’t unleash any kind of craziness or kill a vampire or two," Azura said.
Nathaniel sighed. He knew his mother had come to him after arguing over the same matter with his father. It had been like this ever since Elliana went to the vampire Kingdom.
Nathaniel didn’t say anything to her for some time.
He knew saying anything in this matter would only make it worse because her love and concern as a mother was justified, but they wanted to ensure that their precious Elliana gained what she lost one year ago.
It was time for her to find her happiness.
"Mother, do you know Elliana saw a spark of glow in her hand," Nathaniel said.
Azura squared her jaws angrily, not liking how he neglected her words.
"Does it look like I care whether she got a glow or -" Azura paused when the words finally settled in her head, and realization dawned upon her.
Her pupils dilated, and she looked at Nathaniel with wide eyes.
"A spark of glow?" Azura asked, rushing to him and holding her son’s hands.
Nathaniel nodded his head with a smile, knowing how happy she was for real.
"For real?" She asked again, her heart beating with happiness for her daughter. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"For real, mother. Do you want to see the glow in her hands?" Nathaniel asked, and Azura nodded vigorously, tears brimming her eyes.
She rushed to the little crystal ball. It showed the recorded version of Elliana standing in the University and looking at her hands right before she called Nathaniel as she saw the glow in her hand.
Nathaniel could’ve shown the clip of when she burns the wood pile, but he didn’t want Azura to lose her mind because of what happened next.
"Oh, my precious daughter," Azura said, placing her hand over her mouth to contain her happiness as tears streamed down her cheeks.
It was so hard that she saw her daughter crying for nights, screaming in frustration and pain because she couldn’t find her magic.
Elliana used to scream even after healing.
She would tell everyone that the hollowness in her heart scares her, that she feels she has lost everything she held dear in life, and what was even worse was the fact that she didn’t even know what she lost.
Azura has seen her daughter jumping into deep waters and not trying to surface back because she wanted to keep drowning in the deepest parts to find herself.
She worked hard at Witch University for the entire year. Though Elliana tried to smile for them, Azura could see the pain in her eyes whenever she smiled fakely.
Thus, seeing her daughter looking at her hands, the tiny sparkle of the glow of her powers was like a ray of sunshine for them.
Nathaniel looked at the lady and couldn’t help but feel a little emotional himself.
They won’t have to worry about anything if things go right.
However, the risk only increased with each passing day because Sebastian and Elliana found each other and became attracted to each other.
The risk of everything ending once again for once and all was there, but it was still worth a try.
Every person in and out of their family could see that Elliana couldn’t hold on for longer.
