The Purgatory Calamity-Chapter 1000 - 959 Father and Daughter
Chapter 1000: Chapter 959 Father and Daughter
Tianyu’s mindset had become chaotic.
The God’s Domain that had formed because of Him was suddenly shattered into even more pieces, with enormous fragments of the void aimlessly drifting in the desolate and icy Star River.
"Boom! Boom boom!"
Uncontrolled, the fragments of the void collided, erupting with billions of flashes of chaotic light, turning the starry sky where He resided into a terrifying space of chaotic currents.
Fortunately, there were no God Spirits nearby; otherwise, His wave of mental turmoil could have obliterated all God Spirits beneath the Sovereign.
"Tianyu, you cannot escape."
Pang Lin spoke slowly and deliberately, a mocking tone in the depths of his cold, pitch-black eyes.
As soon as his voice fell, a scene suddenly appeared within the "Illusory Void Realm" that was suspended on high.
It was an airy hall floating with numerous prismatic crystals.
The hall stood upon a fragment land immersed in flowing light, with strands of light from the Outer Realm passing swiftly by and cracks in the void continuously rupturing.
Members of the Void Clan scattered above the fragment land, their faces clearly struck with panic.
"The Wisdom Goddess has fallen!"
The ripple of Fu Ya’s death had also reached this place.
The downfall of a Sovereign held profound significance, affecting the status of the Spirit Race beyond the heavens and causing the members of the Void Clan to worry about the safety of their own chieftain.
"Void Temple!"
The Demon Gods of the Ancient Demon Clan, upon seeing the hall in the "Illusory Void Realm," let out excited roars.
If the "Illusory Void Realm," controlled by Their Holy Gods, could reflect Tianyu’s Void Temple, it meant that even if Tianyu were to shrink within the temple, the Holy Gods could still dig Him out!
Even if Tianyu managed to escape back, He would likely be found by the two siblings!
Suddenly, huge multifaceted prismatic crystals reflecting scenes from the Heavens Star River appeared within the "Illusory Void Realm."
In the corner of the hall of the Void Temple, within one of the prismatic crystals, a man was currently encased in ice.
His eyes were filled with contentment, as if he was murmuring softly.
"Little Jian."
"Little Jian."
His affectionate murmurings seemed to traverse the infinite Star River, reaching this desolate stretch of stars.
His figure was extremely clear, as if powered by the force of the "Illusory Void Realm," directly projecting into this world, allowing everyone to clearly see.
"Pang Qi!"
Those who recognized him, including Lin Baixiang and elders like Mu Qingya and Du Tianyan, couldn’t help but cry out in shock upon seeing him appear in the "Illusory Void Realm."
He was the previous Purgatory World God, Pang Jian, the most mysterious genius of the Human Race, who actually existed within the "Illusory Void Realm"!
It was he who had traveled back and forth between the Human Race and the Ancient Demon Clan, persuading the Old Black Turtle and the Bright Phoenix, forging an alliance between the Human Race and the Ancient Demon Clan, and expelling the Alien Tribes that had once taken root above the Purgatory world.
It was also he who had united the Ancient Demons several times, blocking the Alien Tribes’ strongest path to ascendancy!
Likewise, he had secretly returned to the Purgatory World several times, allowing the Human Race to forge seven Heavenly Tribulation Pillars, thwarting the Alien Tribes’ subsequent ascension attempts.
He was also the father of Pang Jian and Pang Lin!
"Father!"
The two Pang Jians’ gazes abruptly focused on the "Illusory Void Realm, " fixating on the man within the prismatic crystal.
How could he not recognize his own father?
Memories deep within his soul suddenly surged forth.
The father leading his hunts in the Solitude Mountain Range, teaching him how to survive, and, before departing, entrusting him with the care for his sister—all these past moments instantly filled Pang Jian’s mind.
He had not expected his father, who had disappeared for many years, to be encased within the Void Temple, imprisoned by Tianyu.
The scene revealed in the "Illusory Void Realm" was enough to prove his mother’s death was closely connected to Tianyu!
"Tianyu!"
The two Pang Jians bellowed in anger.
Stars followed their will, streaking across the sky while nine suns lined up, unleashing a blaze capable of burning all things towards Tianyu.
"Boom!"
The enormous skull of the Divine King trembled violently as the "Forgotten Demon Path" within Luan Ji’s eye sockets exerted its power, attempting to once again erase Tianyu’s memories, plunging the God of the Void into downfall.
Tianyu, already disturbed in mind, faced with the surge unleashed by Pang Jian, couldn’t help but show a hint of bitterness on his face.
"There’s no need to make Him forget; after all, He can’t escape this expanse of stars and is destined to fall here."
Pang Lin waved his hand.
A dark tide filled with destruction, decay, and death swept through the Star River that encompassed Tianyu, tossing the directiveness of the Supreme Demon Path into chaos and leaving Tianyu nowhere to flee.
"Shhhrrrkk!"
The space cracks which hadn’t immediately healed after being torn apart, at this moment, all closed simultaneously.
As Tianyu’s expression dramatically changed, just as he had begun to conceive the idea of fleeing this part of the Star River and hadn’t yet managed to drift away, he found that he had no way out.
The "Illusory Void Realm" not only revealed the Void Temple but also covered this section of the Star River, causing tremendous changes to the spatial laws.
Countless lights of space gathered around Tianyu’s Divine Body, and He tried to use the space of the Great Tao He had comprehended to forcibly cleave a space crack, longing to distance Himself from the dire battlefield.
But He found it utterly impossible.
The Star River, affected by the "Broken Void" within the domain of God, became as unyielding as a slab of iron, and no matter how hard He tried, He couldn’t tear open a single crack.
"She has mastered the ’Illusory Void Realm’ to such an extent!"
Tianyu was struck with sudden terror.
The Divine Artifact of the Void Clan, rooted in the peculiar connection to the Void spaces of heaven and earth, naturally had this link.
But because Black Phoenix was not adept at the laws of space, He thought that even with the "Illusory Void Realm" in hand, Black Phoenix could not completely lock down a section of the Star River.
He felt that as soon as He was determined to extricate Himself and leave, He was confident that He could break free from the Void prison and return to the Void Temple.
Now He suddenly realized He had been gravely mistaken.
Taffy, a member of the Giant Spirit Race summoned by Black Phoenix from the Forbidden Land and resurrected within the dark Divine Aura, was the God of Space from a million years ago.
Taffy had spent more time submerged in this Divine Tao than He had; His understanding of the mysteries of space was not inferior to His.
With Taffy lurking in the darkness and bolstering with His strange Alien Power, Black Phoenix could push the might of the "Illusory Void Realm" to its limits!
That’s why the "Illusory Void Realm" could illuminate the Void Temple, and why this fragmented Star River was sealed by the "Illusory Void Realm," making it difficult for Him to shatter the Void and escape.
"A very, very long time ago, father..."
Pang Lin stood on the forehead of the Black Phoenix Demon Body, speaking in an indifferent tone, "He, born as a Realm God in Purgatory, had once entered the Seventh Realm and had a lengthy discussion with me."
First referring to father, then suddenly shifting to "He," Pang Lin at this moment considered herself as the Black Phoenix.
Everyone was startled, and Pang Jian’s face was a picture of astonishment.
Had their father delved into the Seventh Layer of Purgatory long ago? In that eternally dark world, he had glimpsed the true form of Black Phoenix?
"We came to an agreement," Pang Lin continued.
Somehow, when dealing with her brother Pang Jian, she was genuine and earnest, but when it came to dealing with their father Pang Qi, she seemed somewhat cold and ruthless.
"I revealed to him the secrets of Purgatory, unveiled the peculiarities of the Mysterious Fog Sea, and in return, he promised to help me be reborn in a human body."
"In the end, I chose to be born as the second child of him and that Nether Tribe woman."
"Whether it’s the innate Thunder Vortex or the Power of Light within me, it was the path I had already laid out for myself."
Her eyes shimmered with reminiscence, "In order to be reborn in a human body, I had made many preparations beforehand. The union of him and that Nether Tribe woman showed me a novel path."
"But..."
Pang Lin paused, gazing through the "Illusory Void Realm" at Pang Qi in the Void Temple.
Clearly, she didn’t regard Pang Qi as her father, her tone lacking any emotional undulation, she simply said, "My relationship with him in this lifetime, as father and daughter, was merely a transaction. From the beginning to the end, he knew who I was and also knew that I would eventually awaken."
With that, Pang Lin stopped again.
Hidden in the interstices of the Void, within the Prismatic Crystal in the hall, Pang Qi seemed to have heard her voice. The gladness and excitement that had bubbled up due to Pang Jian quickly subsided.
Pang Qi, still trapped within the Prismatic Crystal, had an unusually calm expression, offering no response.
He furrowed his brow looking out from the Prismatic Crystal, as if seeing Pang Lin speak languidly, devoid of intense feelings in his eyes.
His attitude towards Pang Lin was starkly different from how he treated Pang Jian.
By this time, Tianyu, trapped within this Star River, had ceased his futile attempts.
Luo Hongyan was still being corroded by the dark tides, still contending with the myriad mysterious Alien Powers in the dark, but He also glanced occasionally at the "Illusory Void Realm" above.
The rest of the beings were looking on in amazement at both Pang Lin and Pang Qi within the "Illusory Void Realm."
This strange father and daughter, when they met, were like strangers, devoid of any familial affection.
"It’s no wonder!"
People suddenly realized the implication behind Pang Lin’s words.
She wasn’t close to her father Pang Qi because he had always known who she was, always treated her as the Black Phoenix instead of his daughter.
Pang Qi was well aware of her ulterior motives, knowing she was the product of their transaction, aware of her own schemes.
Pang Qi had simply adhered to the agreement, allowing her to become his second child.
It was also according to the agreement that he let Pang Jian take care of her, to ensure her survival until the day she could complete her awakening.
Throughout the process, Pang Qi was just fulfilling a promise.
All he had done for Pang Lin, the care he had given her, contained no emotional element.
Because he knew Pang Lin’s true identity, he viewed her as the product of the agreement.
Pang Jian, however, was different.
Unaware of his sister’s past, his love for her was sincere and pure, free from any hint of self-interest or transactions.
This was why Pang Lin felt differently towards him.
So even after her awakening, when she knew she was the Black Phoenix from the Seventh Layer of Purgatory, she still acknowledged Pang Jian as her brother and told everyone as much.
"As per our agreement, I have kept the Purgatory Human Tribe alive, preventing Purgatory from shattering."
"I made it happen," Pang Lin looked at the "Illusory Void Realm," pondering as she spoke, "But our agreement does not include rescuing you from the Void Temple. Whether you can escape depends on your own ability, to see if Tianyu will die in this Star Space."
"I..."
She was about to speak again when her expression suddenly changed.
In the pitch-black eyes of the Black Phoenix, shock also emerged, as if alarmed by some force.
