The Rich Cultivator-Chapter 349. Fox Lady Su Fei
Chapter 349: 349. Fox Lady Su Fei
"What are you doing here?" the fox lady asked, her golden eyes narrowing slightly with a mysterious glint.
Fortunately, each of the three carried a small device which was founded by Lily in the supervisor office. Thanks to it, they could understand the Fox Lady’s speech with ease.
Lily’s eyes widened slightly as she realized who they were dealing with. She quickly bowed with grace and urgency. "Lady Su Fei. It’s our scheduled break time," she said politely.
Among the Abyss Hunters, aside from the main leader, there were three sub-leaders. Su Fei, the fox lady before them, was one of them. Just like other two sub leaders, Su Fei is also at Ascension Realm (Divine Seeker realm).
Tyler and Kaiser followed Lily’s lead and immediately bowed, saying nothing. There was a strange pressure emanating from Su Fei that made them feel like they were standing before a beast.
"Break time is over," Su Fei said simply. "Follow me inside."
As she turned around, her fluffy white fox tails swayed rhythmically behind her, brushing against one another with a soft rustle. Her pure white ears twitched slightly as she walked, radiating an otherworldly elegance.
Tyler’s eyes were unconsciously drawn to her butt.
Noticing his gaze, Su Fei smirked but didn’t comment. She was used to men admiring her looks—no, she enjoyed it. That quiet, hopeless fascination they had with her form gave her a sense of pride.
But Tyler wasn’t staring because of lust—he was curious. From the outside, she had only three tails, but his senses were picking up something far more terrifying hidden within them. Power condensed and cloaked like a sleeping beast. Those tails weren’t ordinary.
"She’s hiding her true strength," Tyler thought, silently analyzing her with the faintest wisp of spiritual sense. "I am not sure if I can fight against a Divine Seeker Realm."
The four of them flew in silence back toward the mining area. The illusion of freedom they’d enjoyed just moments ago vanished like smoke. Lily and Kaiser sighed in disappointment. They had been so close.
"I really thought we were out," Kaiser said via voice transmission.
"Yeah, almost made it," Tyler replied, just as quietly.
As they arrived, the atmosphere shifted. The other Abyss Hunters on patrol immediately straightened, bowing respectfully as Su Fei landed. No one dared question the presence of the three individuals behind her. If Lady Su Fei allowed them to follow her, that was enough.
Su Fei looked around with mild disinterest, though her fox ears twitched as she picked up on hushed murmurs and disturbed energies.
"What happened here?" she asked, her voice laced with charm yet carrying the weight of command.
One of the nearby Guards stepped forward nervously. "Lady Su Fei, earlier there was a bright glow... and now strange creatures are emerging from the underground."
Tyler and Lily glanced at each other in alarm.
They didn’t see any creatures while digging. It seems Tyler’s luck was still there. They only crawled out after they left.
Su Fei turned toward the cave entrance, eyes narrowing as she stepped forward. The others followed close behind.
Inside the cavern, it was darker than before—darker not due to light, but because of the presence now dwelling within.
Humanoid figures staggered through the shadows. They were impossibly tall and grotesquely emaciated, as though starved for centuries.
They had four vertically slit eyes, glowing faintly with a sickly green hue. Pointed ears jutted from the sides of their misshapen heads. Their mouths were torn unnaturally wide, stretching all the way to their ears and filled with razor-sharp teeth.
Nostrils were nothing more than slits pressed into the surface of their skull-like faces, and their skin pulsed with bulging black veins, writhing like worms beneath the surface.
Instead of hands, long, curved, scythe-like bone blades protruded from their forearms. Tentacle-like appendages hung from their elbows, twitching violently as if sensing prey.
"Disgusting," Su Fei scoffed, not even blinking at the sight.
The creatures hissed and let out distorted screeches, some charging forward. But before they could move more than a few steps, Su Fei lifted her hand.
A ripple of energy—so silent and fast it barely registered—swept through the chamber.
The monsters froze mid-charge.
Then, as if a switch had been flipped, their heads began to explode—one by one, popping like ripe watermelons under invisible pressure.
Pop! Pop! Pop!
It was clean. Effortless. Terrifying.
Lily and Kaiser stared, stunned. Tyler on the other hand thought of something. He pretty sure he saw something like shrine for a second.
"Let’s go," Su Fei said, walking further into the cave to investigate the source of the breach.
As her footsteps echoed deeper into the shadows, some Hunters followed her.
Meanwhile, behind them, three figures slipped away—quiet as ghosts.
----
Back in the cave...
Su Fei slowly walked deeper into the cavern, her white fox tails swaying behind her like waves of silk.
She soon arrived at a spot where the ground had been disturbed—the area where the grotesque creatures had emerged. Her expression darkened as she knelt and examined a series of charred lines on the stone floor.
"A broken array formation?" she muttered.
The intricate engravings, though half-destroyed, still hummed faintly with residual power. From the looks of it, it had once been a seal—meant to trap or perhaps hide something deep underground. Now, it was shattered.
Su Fei rose to her feet and turned sharply toward one of the Abyss Hunters who was lingering nearby.
"Where is the supervisor and the other two?" she asked coldly.
The Hunter trembled under her gaze. "I... I’m not sure, Lady Su Fei."
"Then go and bring them to me. Now," she commanded, her voice like ice.
With a wave of her hand, the Hunter stumbled away in panic.
Su Fei turned back to the cavern, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, her brows furrowed. Something wasn’t right.
She quickly scanned the surroundings again, this time extending her spiritual sense like a fine net across the entire mining area.
Those three were Gone.
"They’re missing..." she muttered. A glint of amusement flashed in her eyes. "Interesting"
In an instant, the atmosphere changed.
The air grew heavy. The cave trembled. A strange greenish glow spread across the ground, and a crimson shrine appeared before her like an illusion bleeding into reality. The very terrain began to twist and reshape.
Nearby Abyss Hunters were thrown back by the sudden pressure, as if the laws of nature were rejecting their presence. Many coughed up blood and collapsed, unable to endure the surge of raw divine power.
Su Fei stood at the center of it all, calm as a sleeping storm.
Then, her three fox tails flared out behind her—and split into nine.
Their appearance was followed by a powerful divine wind, and her form became almost celestial. She raised a hand and spoke a single word:
"Reverse."
Reality warped.
Before her eyes, the world began to rewind. A phantom illusion appeared, showing flickering images of the recent past. She watched as time unraveled in reverse—creatures crawling back into the earth, lights dimming, footsteps vanishing.
Then she saw it clearly.
Tyler and Lily, standing at the heart of the cave, pulling out a strange glowing object. The artifact flared brightly—likely the cause of the array’s destruction. She narrowed her eyes and reversed the scene further, watching as they dug through the stones, whispering to one another.
"So... these little rats were the culprits," Su Fei said with a smirk. Her eyes gleamed with excitement and a hint of bloodlust. "Clever... but Naive."
With a soft chuckle, she vanished from the cave, the illusion fading behind her.
---
Meanwhile...
Far away from the cavern, Tyler, Lily, and Kaiser soared over a sea of rocky peaks. The landscape was barren, endless hills and jagged cliffs stretching across the horizon under a dull sky.
"We should be far enough now," Kaiser muttered, glancing behind them.
Lily’s eyes narrowed as she spotted something in the distance. "Is that... a shrine?"
Nestled between two great stone ridges was a red shrine, glowing faintly with the same energy that had appeared back in the cave.
"There’s a shrine in the Abyss?" Kaiser muttered.
Tyler’s eyes locked onto the shrine, and a chill ran down his spine. "No... this isn’t good. She’s nearby."
"What?" Kaiser turned, alarmed.
Then, as if on cue, a haunting laugh echoed through the mountain range. The sound was soft—like a bell made of pearls—yet it carried a deadly tone.
"Hahaha..."
From the mist ahead, a figure appeared, walking through the air like an immortal descending from the heavens.
Su Fei.
Her white robes billowed with the wind, and her nine tails shimmered with ethereal energy. Her presence alone distorted the space around her.
Kaiser’s body tensed. His eyes turned white. His body began to crack and shimmer—and then, exploded just like those Creatures before.
"Kaiser!" Tyler shouted in horror.
From the explosion, a small glowing figure emerged—a translucent version of Kaiser, flickering like a ghost.
"Quick take his Nascent Soul," Lily said quickly.
Tyler didn’t hesitate. He reached out and pulled the soul into a protective seal, storing it in a spiritual ring.
Kaiser’s voice echoed weakly as his soul flickered. "This woman is dangerous..."
And with that, his soul dimmed, entering a deep sleep.
Su Fei floated closer, her expression cold and amused. "Now... it’s you two."
Tyler’s heartbeat thundered. Suddenly his head buzzed.
His eyes also turned white.
