The Villain Who Stole Hearts-Chapter 91: Daisy’s Confession
Chapter 91: Daisy’s Confession
Lisa stared at Veil for a long time. In the end, after careful deliberation, she chose not to speak her mind.
Some things weren’t about holding a grudge against Veil. They were simply subconscious reactions.
Besides, her own position hadn’t come easily.
She had seized it amid chaos and forcefully claimed it. Her confidence wasn’t exactly rock solid.
Casting a sideways glance at Daisy, Lisa snapped, "Come upstairs with me. We need to talk."
She didn’t have the nerve to go after Veil—but Daisy? She could definitely handle her!
First, she’d tear apart this leaky cotton jacket of a ’friendship’ and deal with the consequences later.
"Coming~" Daisy chirped, her yoga mat tucked around her waist as she sashayed up the stairs, swaying her slender hips with every step.
She didn’t look afraid in the slightest. In fact, she almost seemed... eager. Like she was looking forward to this.
Bang!
The bedroom door slammed shut behind them.
Lisa sat at the edge of the bed, arms crossed, her expression icy.
The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees.
She glared at Daisy and said stiffly, "Speak. How far has it gone between you and Veil? I might be powerless when it comes to him, but you better not drag me into your mess.
We’ve been friends for over a decade. I don’t want things between us to get awkward."
Daisy tossed the yoga mat aside and lowered her head like a child caught doing something wrong. Her voice was soft and guilt-ridden.
"Honestly, it’s not as dramatic as you think, Lisa. It’s probably... about the same as what you two have going on?"
Yeah, more or less.
Whatever Lisa had done with Veil, Daisy had done too. As for the things she could do that Lisa might not have dared to try—well, who knew?
Not that she was going to ask. Absolutely not.
Daisy knew how to be clever when it counted.
Lisa’s eye twitched. Her anger flared.
"You’ve already gone that far?!
When?! How did I not know anything about this?!
When did you and Veil get close enough for that?!
Daisy, I can’t believe this!
I treated you like a sister—and you went behind my back?!"
Daisy quickly defended herself, bitterly.
"It happened when Veil pretended to be my boyfriend to fend off that guy. I didn’t want it either. It was my mom’s fault—she drugged him!
If I hadn’t gone into that room that night, you probably wouldn’t even be seeing Veil now.
And even if he had survived, some of his equipment might’ve been permanently damaged."
Before Lisa could blow up again, Daisy quickly scooted closer, wrapped an arm around her shoulders, and said pitifully, "Come on, Lisa, don’t be mad. I didn’t mean for it to happen. But now that things have already come this far... what can I do?
Besides, I wasn’t exactly keeping it a secret. If I really wanted to be a two-faced b*tch, I could’ve just kept smiling at you during the day while getting intimate with Veil at night.
You wouldn’t even have known."
Lisa shoved Daisy’s arm off, her fury burning. She wanted to pounce on Daisy and pound her into the mattress.
And yet... a part of her couldn’t help but admit—Daisy had a point.
Daisy pulled her arm back with a casual shrug, letting her legs swing off the edge of the bed like a child on a playground. She muttered, "Come on, Lisa. You know Veil’s background. You know what kind of person he is. You really think you’re the only woman in his life? That you’ll always be the only one?
Can you really handle that?
Because I barely can.
After the other night, I had to spend an entire day in bed just to recover. I still felt sore the next morning.
Just thinking about it now makes my heart race—equal parts fear and excitement.
And you? With your physique?
Are you sure you can handle Veil’s... intensity?"
She raised her hands innocently. "I’m just speaking facts here. I’m not trying to drag you down with me. Really."
Lisa could only sigh internally.
Of course she had thought about these things.
If she’d really believed she could keep Veil all to herself, she would’ve walked away from him a long time ago.
Still, Daisy’s sudden intrusion had completely blindsided her—and it hurt.
"Daisy," Lisa said wearily, "maybe right now I’m pissed and feel like this is all your fault. But give it time. You’ll come to realize the benefits."
Daisy’s tone grew serious, her expression oddly sincere.
"Look, Veil’s already away five days a week. You two barely see each other. And as time goes on, it’s only going to get worse.
Realistically, how often will you two even get to meet?
From what I know, you’ve already got serious competition.
Those Murphy sisters? Girl, I met them once at a party. If I were a man, I’d be begging to die between their thighs."
Lisa rolled her eyes.
She was the one who’d told Daisy about the Murphy sisters in the first place—now Daisy was using them as leverage?
Lisa said nothing, just stared at Daisy with a cold, silent intensity.
Keep going. Let’s see how far you’ll twist this.
Daisy took the hint and cleared her throat dramatically before pressing on.
"Jodie’s already overlapping with you in terms of role and presence. And now you’ve got Julia too?
Those two are tight as hell. If they gang up on you, you won’t stand a chance!
If you want to hold your ground, I’m your only real ally!"
She straightened her back and proudly pushed out her chest, highlighting her curvy figure for emphasis.
After all, if you were going to negotiate a partnership, you had to show you had something to offer.
Lisa snorted. "I’ll admit, your argument’s almost convincing. Even I’m tempted. But even if I can handle Jodie, what makes you think you can match Julia?
Let’s not forget—your whole ’loli’ thing is fake. You just look young. In reality, you’re a few months older than me!
Compared to the real deal like Julia, you’re miles behind!"
Daisy pouted. "Excuse me? Fake? Get your facts straight! I’m a legal loli. Totally legit!
Okay, fine. You’re right—Julia is a mountain neither of us can climb.
Her age, her absurd figure... it’s not even fair.
But!"
She paused dramatically, letting anticipation build.
Then, with a sly wink, she leaned in and whispered, "She may be younger...
But I’m way sluttier."
Lisa was caught between frustration and resignation as she glanced at Daisy beside her, barely able to contain her anger.
How had she gotten so unlucky?
To think her own best friend would stab her in the back like this.
If she’d known this would happen, she never would have asked Veil to play her fake boyfriend last time!
What she thought was harmless turned out to be far more complicated—and who could’ve predicted that even Aunt Sofia would get involved?
She’d let her guard down.
Seeing the storm still brewing in Lisa’s eyes, Daisy pouted and wrapped her arms around Lisa’s, putting on her tried-and-true act—playing the pitiful little girl.
"Lisa, please... I really can’t live without Veil anymore!" Daisy whined, snuggling close. "When Veil frowns, I feel like the whole world turns dark. If it makes you feel better, you can be the main girlfriend, and I’ll just be the side one, okay?"
She poured out sweet nothings like a fountain, practically reducing herself to a pet just to win forgiveness.
And oddly enough, Daisy didn’t feel humiliated in the slightest. In fact, there was a strange thrill in it.
Huffing a deep breath, Lisa rose from the bed before Daisy could keep groveling.
"Veil hasn’t eaten yet," she said coldly and walked out the room, not sparing her a glance.
Daisy followed behind, quietly exhaling in relief.
Success!
She knew Lisa too well—if Lisa had truly been indifferent, if she hadn’t reacted at all, that would’ve meant real trouble.
The way things were now, though... it was as good as an unspoken acceptance.
Hehe!
From now on, no more sneaking around!
Half an hour later...
The dinner table was filled with home-cooked dishes.
Veil picked up a piece of rib, took a bite, and nodded in approval.
"Not bad. Way more flavorful than last time."
Lisa jabbed at a chicken wing with her chopsticks and let out a faint snort.
"I asked Mom for the recipe during a video call. Didn’t you say you liked her cooking? I made it especially for you."
Her tone was thick with vinegar, as if a whole bottle had been spilled.
Sure, she had gradually come to accept Daisy’s presence—and in some ways, had even been persuaded by her arguments.
But deep down, the bitterness still lingered. She needed comfort.
Lisa took a small bite of the chicken wing and reached for a napkin to wipe her mouth.
"Don’t move," Veil suddenly said.
He reached out and gently held her cheek, leaning in close.
Then he kissed the corner of her lips, lightly brushing away the sauce left from the chicken wing.
Was it a little unhygienic?
Sure.
But it was also seductive as hell.
To ease Lisa’s lingering discomfort, Veil was willing to make that tiny sacrifice.
"What are you doing? She’s still here!" Lisa’s cheeks flushed red.
Strangely, now that she knew about Veil and Daisy, these little affectionate gestures in front of Daisy suddenly felt awkward.
"The soup’s still in the kitchen. I’ll go bring it over!"
She quickly got up, heading for the kitchen, eager to escape the warm, slightly chaotic atmosphere around the table.
Sitting across the table, Daisy couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy.
Her pretty eyes darted mischievously, then she suddenly pushed back her chair and called out toward the kitchen where Lisa was,
"Lisa, my stomach’s acting up a bit. I’m gonna run to the bathroom real quick!"
Without waiting for a response, she slipped beneath the table.
A few moments later, Lisa returned from the kitchen, wearing oversized oven mitts and holding a steaming bowl of ginseng soup. She set it down with a thud and grumbled,
"That Daisy, always up to something—even in the middle of a nice meal!"
She glanced at Veil and continued,
"Let’s just ignore her. You should drink more soup—your face looks a bit pale."
Screeech—
The sound of Veil dragging his chair across the wooden floor pierced the air, effectively drowning out a far more subtle noise that had just begun to rise from under the table.
