The Void's System-Chapter 88: Caught in the girls den

Sera stepped out of the bathroom in her sky-blue pajamas, drying her hair with a towel and humming softly to herself. She looked toward her bed—then froze.

A person was lying on it.

She did what any normal girl would do.

She screamed.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!!"

Zane shot up from the bed like he'd been electrocuted. "WAIT—!"

Nyx, hovering lazily at the window, slapped her tiny hand across her face. "I told you this would happen."

Doors flung open.

Thunderous footsteps echoed down the hallway.

Within seconds, chaos burst through the door—half the dormitory girls charging in, armed like they were ready to storm a dungeon. One had a broom, another a glowing wand, and someone was literally holding a dining chair.

"PERVERT!"

"WHO'S THAT?!"

"I'LL CASTR—"

"It's me, it's me—ZANE!" he shouted over the chaos, waving his hands frantically.

Sera blinked.

The voice clicked.

She squinted at the startled figure, dripping shadow energy in panic, and then gasped. "Zane?!"

She rushed over and stared at him, towel still on her head. "Why are you in my—ugh, never mind."

Before anyone could react, she leaned down and pecked him on the cheek. "I thought it was a real pervert or something."

Zane was too stunned to speak.

The entire dorm went silent.

Then came the slow shuffle of feet as the mob backed away, blinking in disbelief.

One of the girls pointed a trembling finger. "Just... don't ever do that again. Or next time we're using real magic."

"Y-Yes ma'am," Zane replied like a soldier being scolded.

The door closed behind the last girl.

Nyx floated down with an exaggerated groan. "You bring doom wherever you go, I swear."

Sera giggled, plopping beside him. "Honestly, you're lucky I didn't blast you out the window."

Zane finally breathed. "That bed... was not worth my life."
