One second, two, three, four and then five. It took five seconds for Alix to gather her thoughts and properly digest the question. Grandma Zhang had not gone about it in a secret way. She just blurted the question out directly.

Alix was bending towards her just before the question was asked and she leaned away, putting a little distance between the two of them.

Grandma Zhang must have noticed that the question made Alix uncomfortable so she backed down with an apology.

"Sorry, I know that I shouldn't pry into your private affairs but I can't help worrying about the future of your relationship."

Alix smiled wistfully and she touched grandma's hand. "Err, grandma I know that you mean well but this matter is complicated. Besides, I don't think that we should bring a child into the family when it's in this state."

"But a child might be just what we need to bring the family together. Think about it, Xian and Yura will be united if they have a grandchild, a little baby that will need love and attention." Grandma Zhang told her. The way she said it held much belief, as if it was the guaranteed solution to their family drama.

"The old woman needs a brain scan." The blue elf said.

Alix could not have agreed more. She was so close to calling the elder crazy because that was not a good reason for two people to have a child. Had grandma forgotten about Na Na? Where was the other wife in this situation? With the way she was acting, she would surely want to play the role of grandmother as well.

It was best to end the conversation right now before grandma Zhang got any more ridiculous ideas.

"System, call my phone, right now."

The blue elf obliged her and her phone rung.

Alix jumped up as if she was sitting on hot coals. Very eager to escape, she said quickly, "Uhm, grandmother, I am expecting someone and he has just arrived. Excuse me please."

She scurried out of the room and shut the door firmly behind her. She leaned against it and took a deep breath. "That was very uncomfortable." She whispered.

It was still early, rather than continue sitting with grandma Zhang she figured that she might as well kill time by sitting in the hospital cafeteria and playing the game for a while. If she dared to go into the other room to be with Caishen, grandma Zhang would hear her voice and invite her back for another heart to heart conversation.

She walked slowly, slipping past the open door of the second room as if she was a thief. She managed to get a glimpse though, and saw Caishen getting his legs massaged. At least he had taken one thing that she said seriously.

On her way down, she met with the old madam's personal maid and Yura's assistant. They were all here to deliver food. Grandpa Zhang would probably not be too far behind them.

Bumping into them was fine but bumping into her stepmother and grandmother was not. She rolled her eyes and looked away from them. Lin Billi was still in the hospital it seemed. She was really milking the sewer thing. She had made ten videos so far, crying about it and garnering sympathy. So far, they had all managed to bump into each other but it was a small world and even smaller hospital. At some point they had been bound to cross paths.

She ignored the two women and turned to walk the other way, something which her grandmother didn't like.

"Hey, this crazy wench!" her grandmother shouted.

"People are staring mother, don't." Jing Hee was quite quick to quiet her down.

Normally, she would enjoy the spectacle, contribute even but reporters had been sneaking into the hospital lately and she didn't want any negative news on Lin Billi trending. The eating shit saga was enough.

Alix just kept walking, acting as if she didn't hear a single thing that her grandmother yelled out. Who in their right mind would turn around when addressed as wench? No matter how much time passed, her family stayed steadfast in their hatred of her. Not that she cared anymore anyway.

She might not have cared but Bi Cang, her personal bodyguard did. He usually followed her everywhere and even within the hospital, he followed her from a distance. Bi Cang promised himself that when he got the chance, he would teach the two old hags a lesson.

The hospital cafeteria was sparsely populated. A few patients, doctors, nurses and visitors were in there, eating or just sitting. It allowed Alix to find a seat by the window as she had been hoping. She wanted to look outside and admire the view. Watching the world go by in silence was a great way to find inspiration and sitting alone in a hospital cafeteria was not awkward.

Sometimes, people stared at you sideways when you ate alone in a restaurant but here, nobody cared. She knew because she had spent some time in the hospital as a child.

"Game, game, game." The blue elf jumped around on the virtual screen.

She had just touched her phone and she hadn't even made a choice on what she wanted to do.

"Calm down, Jin Kang has sent me pictures and I want to first see her text." She replied.

She had a pair of white airpods that she usually carried with her and she put them in her ears. In case she spoke to the system using her mouth, she didn't want to look like the crazy person in the room. In a melancholic mood suddenly, she decided to listen to some music. It could accompany whatever else she was doing.

First, she looked at the texts her friend had sent. Jin Kang had sent pictures of herself out in a bar with a bunch of people that were strangers to Alix. Accompanying the pictures was a text in bold, 'TGIF.'

"Watch yourself, don't get too drunk and cause trouble again." She shook her head and sent a text.

"Okay, you are done now. Game, game, game..." the blue elf chanted.

"Relax, will you." She said.

It wasn't as if there was much for her to do in the cafeteria by herself.

"Game, game, game..." It jumped around even more vigorously.

She rolled her eyes and logged into the game. The impatient blue elf would not let her be if she didn't do as it wished.

Before her consciousness could be dragged in, someone tapped her on the shoulder.

She turned around and looked up. Her eyes were blessed with a beautiful sight of messy black hair, long eye lashes, big brown eyes, strong jawline beautiful smile and two dimples in his cheeks.

"Wow," she said in a soft whispery voice. "Aang Yu Chen!!"

Alix blinked a few times and shook her head. His beauty was overpowering now as it had been back then. Of all people she ever thought of bumping into in her life, he was not one.

He pointed to her ears and said something. Alix smiled and took the airpods out of her ears.

"Wow." She said again.

"I think you have said that already. I am glad to see that my face can still mesmerize you Xi Xi." He said and helped himself to the chair opposite hers.

Bi Cang was not sure if this was a dangerous situation or not but he had specific instructions from the young master to alert him if any handsome men showed a little too much interest in his wife. This probably qualified as one of those situations.
