To His Hell and Back-Chapter 121: A Different Person
Chapter 121: A Different Person
When the door creaked open, Ariel could see the glimmer of the blonde hair. Then their eyes locked, both as surprised as the other as they let out a small gasp of surprise. Arabella knew she was going to see her sister but she couldn’t help the surprise she felt seeing that her sister was all safe and sound. When they had last separated, truthfully she didn’t think she would be able to see her again.
She knew what fate was going to meet her when she entered the castle and though she had pretend to be alright and fine, deep down she had accepted the idea of dying when she stepped into the castle.
So when she could now see Ariel again, emotions stir inside her heart. She didn’t know what to say or do, but tears welled in her heart as she found her sister she had treasures so much back in front of her, all of them alive and safe! She couldn’t held herself back as she rushed forward, reaching out her hand as she pulled her sister into her embrace, tightly embracing her.
Ariel was also shocked. Her green eyes seemed to tremble as she looked at Arabella, trying to make sure she had seen the right person but when she was enveloped by the hug, Ariel dropped everything and returned the hug by wrapping her arms tighter around her younger sister’s back, hugging her with all her might, scared that if she let go she would be torn away from her sister again.
"Bella," Ariel, her older sister cried. She pulled away and immediately cupped her cheeks, turning her face around to study whether there was any scars around her. "You’re— you’re all good?"
Cassius who saw them hugging didn’t say a single word, instead he flicked a coin to madam Ursula’s hands telling her to shoo off.
Madam Ursula was scared but she looked even warier as she looked inside the room, specifically when her eyes fell on Ariel who was crying and hugging Arabella. She gulped, and turned to Cassius, saying. "Ariel is still new. She need guidance thus I shall—"
"Go."
He didn’t leave any room to negotiate and though fearful, madam Ursula could do nothing but turn her body around and walk away. She reached down the staircase and saw the room had been closed. Seeing the room again, she let out a gasp, clutching to her chest as if she had just released the breaths she had been holding in her lungs out of fear.
Another girl walked in front of her, narrowing her eyes as she saw that there were people who had just entered Ariel’s room. She warily walked beside Madam Ursula, her voice advising as she said, "Don’t you think it’s a bad idea, Ursula? Ariel... after taken care so fondly by that wealthy young lord, she had began to act weirdly! Have you forgotten what she did to Courtez who had took care of her like she was her own sister two days ago? In what state did we found Courtez in? Bloody! Broken! If we were a step too late maybe she would even be dead! And now you’re sending more people to see her, have you gone insane? What if-"
"—BE QUIET!" madam Ursula yelled, pressing her hands around the temple of her head, "Do you think I don’t know what could happen? I know. I know it even better than you! But what could I do? She demands to see anyone who wish to see her, besides the guest is a vampire, it should be alright," Madam Ursula tighten her grip around her forearms where there was a mark of fingers around it which made her shudder every time she sees it. She had covered it with her shawl but whenever it slipped, she could see the discolored mark making her spine to tingle from fear.
She could still remember what had happened and what caused this bruising around her arms. The bruises had happened two days ago right after she had seen Courtez half alive in Ariel’s room, bleeding and wailing in agonizing pain. No one knew what had happened but Ariel who was much smaller than Courtez shouldn’t be able to harm Courtez so badly out of an argument. It also didn’t make sense for Ariel and Courtez who cares for each other so much to suddenly turn against each other. There were unanswered questions but Ursula didn’t care about "why" it had happened. She was more focus on the damage control.
So once she saw what had happened, she told the men to drag Ariel into the basement to teach her a lesson only for Ariel to defeat the men physically in ease.
While still trying to comprehend the situation and how could such a small young lady like Ariel took care of the men she had hired who once worked for the military, Ariel had walked toward her, grabbed her by her arms and her words were as deadly as a venomous snake, ready to kill, serving her a warning: "From now on you have to follow everything I ask you to do. If not, I’ll get rid of this entire building."
Recalling those words made Ursula to shudder. She sighed, angry and frustrated. "You don’t know what she could do if we refuse her," she answered the girl, "We should be happy that she hadn’t ask any heinous request but it would be much better to abide than to go against her. Provoking a monster isn’t worth the price."
Sighing the girl narrowed her eyes whole looking at her, "You aren’t always like this, Ursula. How could you let such a girl to take control over you?"
"She’s not just a girl," Madam Ursula said, clicking her tongue, "She’s different— she’s insane. For some reason she’s also strong, inhumanly strong! And... she meant it when she said she was going to kill anyone who stood by her path. We have no choice. For now abide and once we see a chance, she’ll be the one to disappear. I’ll make sure of it," she promised, her face darkening with certainty as she stared at the door plate number, clutching to her arms while clicking to her tongue. "I swear I will."
