Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife-Chapter 285: Her pregnancy
Chapter 285: Her pregnancy
Ave laughed. "The changes are natural; I am not sick." She assured him as she stroked his hair and face.
"But is it possible for a woman’s body to change like that? I mean... just like that?" He scratched the back of his neck, his expression adorably baffled as he knew little to nothing about the opposite gender’s anatomy.
He certainly had no idea it was possible for the breasts to grow and feel more alluring to the touch, but since she assured him it was nothing to worry about, he didn’t dwell on it so much and decided to continue where he had stopped before he was distracted by the changes, only to reach and see that she had secured her blouse back with the strings.
Before he could reach to loosen it again, Ave had turned on his lap and pulled forward his lunch. "You haven’t eaten your lunch, and it’s mid-afternoon already." She began to feed him before his mind could go back to discarding her dress again. It was time she began to cut down on how much he touched her and made love to her, so when she started showing, he wouldn’t find it strange that she wasn’t allowing him to touch her. She would begin her plans from now on to hide her pregnancy.
Ave could feel the bulge in his trousers against her thighs, and she knew she would have to escape before he would want to get them both on the desk like the last time. Once she finished feeding him, she would leave.
"What’s wrong, love? What is troubling you?" he asked as he chewed the food she kept stuffing in his mouth. She was troubled, and he could sense it.
Ave knew how their connection worked, and she tried to not let her true emotions out. She sighed and told him, "I am worried about Thalia. She has locked herself in her chamber without talking to anyone. I went there to speak to her, but she refused to open the door." That was part of her worries, but not the bigger one.
"What’s wrong with her?"
"I don’t know. Perhaps she blames us for leaving her behind? She’s not talking to Isolde and Celeste as well," Ave said. "Have you seen Zane since the time he came back?" She fed him another spoonful.
Lucian took it into his mouth and nodded his head. "Hmm. He came to report to me this morning, but he didn’t stay long and left," he told her as he reached out and licked her finger clean when she wiped the side of his mouth with it.
"Did you notice any changes in him?" Ave asked as she tried to ignore what he was doing with her index finger. He had dipped it into his mouth and sucked on it before pulling it out to answer her. He was trying to seduce her, no doubt, but she would try not to fall for it this time.
"He looked absentminded and somewhat restless. I told him to sit down, but he refused and said he didn’t come to stay long. Now that you asked me, when I thanked him about bringing back the princess unharmed, he looked guilty as a cat caught red-handed stealing before he bolted out of the study saying he was tired. I didn’t even get to tell him about what I prepared for him yet."
Lucian had not thought too much about his friend’s strange behavior until his wife questioned him.
"Do you think something is wrong with him?" Lucian asked her when he noticed she looked thoughtful.
"It’s possible. Something must have happened between them to make them act this way. I don’t know if I have told you before, but Thalia seemed to like Zane for a while now. That was why I suggested you send Zane to bring her back so she would be happy, but it seems it’s the opposite."
"Thalia likes Zane?" Lucian laughed in disbelief as he’d never thought or associated those two in such a way. "Then if that’s the case, I guess she’s like this because he turned her down. Zane doesn’t like the two siblings, and his dislike for the first prince would never make him return the princess’s feelings. Not to mention the first prince will kill him if he dares. You should have told me this sooner; I wouldn’t have sent Zane to break her heart."
Ave slapped his shoulder and glared at him. "Love can conquer hate. If Zane was restless when he met you, don’t you think something is fishy? Perhaps you should ask him and let’s hear what he has to say about what happened in the days he was with her." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Lucian circled his arms around her and brought her closer as he smiled. "Don’t meddle in their affairs too much if you don’t want to get on Alden’s bad side again especially now that treats you like he did his sister. Let Zane fix whatever he must have done wrong himself. If it’s something I need to know, he will tell me himself," he said as he crushed his mouth against hers when she looked ready to protest and insist they interfere in something that wasn’t their business.
The two were grown-ups and could make decisions without them forcing it on them, and besides, Lucian was aroused and hard and wanted nothing but to have his wife in peace without her worrying about others.
He used his hands to shove the things on the long desk to the side, including the empty plate, before he grabbed her waist and placed her on it while still kissing her and fighting the strings she had secured tightly for some reason. He couldn’t get them loose and ended up tearing her dress apart in his haste to get her out of it and naked to feel her skin, to touch her bare, but the moment he managed to tear off the string and the front of the dress, he finally realized she was pushing at his chest to stop him.
Lucian slowed down his urgency and the lust roaring in his head to listen to her. He pushed back from her lips but not far back as he still had his forehead against hers. "You don’t like us to do it here?" he asked as he used his thumb to trace her shiny lips from their kiss.
Ave didn’t care where they did it; her body longed to continue and not stop, but she knew she had to begin to exercise putting a stop to it from now on before the time came when she would have to hide away from him and avoid him touching her in case he noticed what she was hiding. She wasn’t going to have an easy time hiding a pregnancy.
Pursing her lips, she placed her hands against his chest so he wouldn’t suddenly kiss her again and make her lose control over the conversation she wanted to have with him. "I want to talk to you about something," she began and watched as his eyes told her he didn’t want to talk and wanted to do things that were better than talking.
However, he nodded and moved his head back, but he didn’t move away to give her the chance to come down from the desk. He stood between her parted legs, his arms still around her.
In a few months to come, she would have to make sure this position of him holding her waist like this was avoided.
"What do you want to talk about?" he asked patiently.
"Well, you see, I heard from everyone in the past few days that an emperor would be required to have his separate chambers with his wife. Once you become emperor, you will—"
"Not me. I will still share the same chamber with you, and we will live our lives just like we have been living it. Is that what has been worrying you since? Did you believe I would be a different man once I took the throne?" he said with a small chuckle then caressed the side of her neck where his mark was.
"The throne won’t change me; rather, I will change it. Keep it in mind that nothing can come between us, not even death, because I will follow you to it and bring you back even if I have to make a deal with the devil himself."
Ave felt her heart waver as a thrill went down her spine at the gravity and seriousness she heard in his voice. She had struggled to associate her husband with Roland as she could not picture him killing an innocent person to stay with the woman he loved, but his words now made her realize their similarities and how he still had the trait of Roland who had sinned for the woman he loved.
He would kill without a doubt to keep her with him, and he would sin all over again and get himself cursed for it, and that made her fear what he would do to a child that would risk her life. His words made her more determined, even though it would be difficult, to hide her pregnancy from him until she was certain it wasn’t possible to abort it.
Reaching to cup his cheeks, she smiled, "What if I do not mind us sleeping separately?" she teased but regretted saying that when she saw his expression.
