Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 389: Another fire on the Blue star.

In the evening, just before the sun set, there was an incident on the Blue star, a very weird incident. A fire was started in the forest, one that resulted in a hoard of animals escaping from the forest and running into the city knocking over everything that was in there way.

Scarlet was reading the rules of the mission she and six other guardian reapers were about to embark on when she received and alert from Alex, her AI.

Soon after that, Severus and the white cat appeared in her bedroom.

"Fire, it’s raining fire." the white cat said in a scared voice.

"Shut up." Severus told it. "It’s not raining fire but rather heat stones have been dropped in the forest which caused a fire. I don’t know who would do such a thing or for what reason but it has caused panic in the animals and they are running into the city."

She dressed up as Severus explained, and then she rushed out. Rather than driving, she used one of the motorcycles that she brought from earth. Severus sat on the back, with a helmet on his head for protection.

Even before she got to her destination, she could see the flames, and hear the sirens. Fire department cars and mechas were rushing to the forest to put the fire out.

Navigating the road proved difficult because of the animals which were running wildly in search of safety. Scarlet almost hit a sheep with a motorcycle but she pushed it out of the way with her soul power, sending it safely out of the main road.

People were screaming, completely out of their minds and RGB officers were trying to get everyone to safety. It was a very confusing situation but even then, news drones and reporters were very active.

"Good lord, this is going to be a mess." she said.

"A big one, heat stones don’t belong on earth we need to retrieve them and return them to the underworld. They belong to Carnelia, the goddess of fire."

His words resonated with something that she recalled hearing from somewhere.

"A goddess you say." she said tentatively.

"Mmm, she leads the warrior reapers, you have not met her." he said.

Recalling the voice in her mind, Scarlet could not dismiss this terrible feeling in the pit of her stomach that she had actually met the goddess Severus spoke of. That voice in her mind, it had to be her. Was this her doing?

The edge of the forest was being manned by RGB officers and mecha warriors. She saw Captain Zorl shouting instruction loudly to his men.

"Governor." the officer nearest to her said, surprise in his voice at her sight.

"Shh."

She put a finger against her lips. "Just do your job, I am just here to investigate the cause of the fire."

She went into the forest from one of the areas which had already been put out. Immediately, she looked around and then blinked, teleporting herself to the midst of the flames.

As a grim reaper, she could not be burned after all. "What do we do?" she asked Severus.

"Collect all the stones and the fire will dies out naturally." he said.

Opening her soul gourd, she started collecting the red stones whose energy she could feel. Severus assisted as well which made the process much faster. Once the last stone was collected, she teleported out of the flames and came out near the gorge where she the vortex was.

It was still there, untouched and leaking souls, just as she had left it when she last saw it.

Out of her storage space, she brought out a small crawler that had a camera and then she hurled it inside the vortex. As long as it did not break, Alex could use it to monitor and see what was on the other side. She would get answers to the mutated beast issue finally, she hoped.

"Well, well, well, we meet at last."

A gust of hot wind rushed past Scarlet and in it’s midst was a voice, that female voice.

Scarlet stood her ground, refusing to be afraid. It was just another goddess, not the first she had met. There was no need to be afraid.

"So you have made up your mind to meet me head on, that’s the true nature of a reaper. If you cowered like a coward I would be disappointed." the voice said.

The hot wind disappeared, and floating above, the goddess Carnelia appeared. In her red dress with her long flaming red hair flowing wildly, she landed gently on the ground.

"I know, my beauty is mesmerizing. Many humans and gods have been seduced by it, but be careful, I burn." The goddess said.

It was undeniable that she was beautiful so Scarlet did not intend to argue with that. However many people had fallen for her beauty was also not really her business.

"I am honored to meet you." Scarlet said to her.

"Really?" The goddess giggled. "I let some of my children play in your world. Aren’t you angry about it?"

"The gods created the world and it is theirs to do with as they please." Scarlet answered.

Carnelia threw her head back and laughed loudly as if Scarlet’s words were the most amusing things she had ever heard.

"The hound has you quite well trained it seems." she said. "Do you really believe in the words you say?"

Scarlet replied with a question of her own. "What power does a human have against a deity? Even me, I am only but a reaper whose job it is to deliver souls of the dead to the underworld. Should I start fighting for human’s rights against deities then I might just vanish. And I cannot allow that to happen to me, I have much to protect."

Carnelia floated around Scarlet, moving like the wind around her from one end to another.

"I have met him, that human man of yours. I must say, you have good taste for a reaper. I would choose him too over any other reapers in the underworld, except for Nyx, have you met Nyx?"

Scarlet had not met Nyx but she knew who he was. Which grim reaper did not know Nyx? It would be most abnormal if she did not know the only other reaper to be partnered with a hell hound that happened to be Severus’s father.

He was the ultimate goal for every grim reaper on the leader board, the only one known to deliver thousands of souls in one night. They said that he was far more scary than a hell hound.

Whispering in Scarlet’s ears, Carnelia said seductively, "If you should ever terminate your human marriage I would advise you to go for Nyx. I think you two would make a perfect match. He burns hot and you are cold, you could make magic together."

As she whispered she rubbed her hand over Scarlet’s lower belly.

Scarlet found it to be creepy and tried to move away but she seemed to be frozen.
