Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 659: Not Folsom.
Chapter 659: Not Folsom.
The mecha warrior’s had created a large encampment on the unknown world, settling down as if they planned to stay for a long time. It was not on the ground, it was in the air floating like structures she had seen in the underworld and on Xeno. As Scarlet walked among them, she observed their smiling faces, absent of worry that she expected to find. This was supposed to be a horrid world after all.
The world itself was not what she expected. In her mind, she had drawn up images of dead bodies piling up, mutated beasts running wild and ripping everything apart with their claws or perhaps unending darkness like that red demon filled planet. In fact, many times, she had pictured it as a different version of Nordem, hopeless and on it’s way to the it’s inevitable end. It was not like most of those things especially because she had laughter.
She had not heard people on Nordem laugh, and they were people. The inhabitants of this world, they were less like people and more liked failed experiments. When she noticed their tiny nostrils or lack there of, she came to a stupid conclusion.
"No wonder they keep dying, they can’t breathe."
She had been wondering all this time why souls kept floating out of this world like water from a river.
"This is a dead world, why are we on a dead world?" Blaze asked her.
Scarlet’s mind turned and she started categorizing information. A dead world was literally that, a dead world. It could not sustain sensible life of any kind. A dead world was an evolution from a cursed world, bound never to be erased because no deity cared.
The hounds were interested in this dead world, and they kept teleporting back and forth. Only Severus and Blaze stayed glued to Scarlet’s side.
Zana teleported in and said, "This will be a perfect place to fight the war. I will make this suggestion to the lord hound when I see him next."
"I thought we would be fighting in the underworld itself." Scarlet looked down at the hound and said.
Blaze chuckled then and told her, "If you think that any of deities is willing to destroy those precious realms then you are thinking wrong."
"A council sits and picks a dead world." Severus told her.
"It doesn’t mean that the war does not spill into a living world. In fact, they make it a point to bring the war to a living world." Zana added to the words of his brothers.
Scarlet turned back and looked in the direction of the space crack. It was now sealed, she could tell. Nothing was leaking anymore over to the Blue star. However, if the war of the gods was fought on this dead world, then wouldn’t the Blue star be the first living world to be affected? The chances of that space crack ripping open again and bringing even worse things that mutated beasts to the home she had built would be high.
"No, Zana, no." She said forcefully.
The hound looked at her with a frown.
"We will not be fighting close to my home. I will erase this dead world on behalf of the deities if need be to stop that from happening." She said in a steely voice.
Zana looked at Scarlet’s stomach and he shook his head. "You cannot avoid the war slipping into your world, not unless you avoid it yourself. Wherever you are, the children will be, hence the fight too will follow. You should decide on where you want to be living when it starts and you cannot go home until it ends."
"I will not be run out of my home like a thief." Angry, Scarlet replied.
Severus was expecting this exact response from her. Telling Scarlet to run from anything was a waste of time. He decided to re-introduce their original mission because they were going off course.
"We are here to find Esong. More importantly, shouldn’t we be discovering what happened to the mutated beasts?"
"Let’s find Folsom." Scarlet suggested.
She looked around and located him rather quickly and then she teleported to his side. He was with other mecha warriors, the ones that made up their little group of friends mostly. Absent were two people, Esong and Markay.
Markay had not come for the mission so his whereabouts were known, Esong on the other hand had come for the mission but still, he was nowhere to be found.
They were not alone in this floating tent and they had company, the natives of the dead world. Two of them anyway, that were sharing drinks and food with the mecha warriors.
The men were watching another man partially dressed in a light black clothing from the waist below perfectly execute the sleek and smooth movements of a snake.
For a few seconds, Scarlet watched the dancer too, wondering if he had bones in his body. No human could move like that, no way. Even female belly dancers were not that good.
She had no idea what was going on, but this was not the mission the mecha warriors had come for. This was them entertaining themselves. She didn’t allow herself to dwell for so long on the dancer and her eyes moved to the Esong’s friend group. The question in her mind was loud and clear.
Where was he?
"He is not here." She told Severus.
"And he is nowhere around on the dead world. I can’t sense him and neither can you, right?" Severus asked her.
She nodded her head slowly and bit her lower lip anxiously. Suddenly, she regretted not coming much sooner to begin her search. All sorts of worries begun to fill up in her mind. What if he had been grabbed by a deity? Not just any deity but Apo.
Wait a minute, he is not just Esong but Nyx. If Nyx had been grabbed then all would not be calm in the underworld. The old deity would be on a war path already.
She thought of something which tickled her mind curiously.
Scarlet waved her hand and froze everyone, with the exception of the hounds. Then, she stood in front of Folsom. He was the one that had been hearing regularly from Esong and according to the empress, he knew Esong’s whereabouts.
Scarlet’s mind was turning like a thousand clocks at the same time as new questions and doubts formed rapidly. With the coming war, Nyx was bound to be off making preparations and there was no way he would leave Esong, his one weakness vulnerable. Since he and Esong were connected, it was possible that he had hidden the human body away.
He could even have put it in a state of deep sleep and stashed it in the underworld.
There was no way Folsom could be hearing from Esong, let alone Nyx at such a time. Not unless he was hypnotized or he was in on the plan somehow. There was one other possibility.
This, perhaps was not Folsom!!.
She raised her hand, forming a claw with her fingers and brought it down with a huge force on Folsom’s shoulder. She was quick, but he was quicker at suddenly dodging and escaping as if he had been waiting all along.
"Grab him." She bellowed to her hounds.freeweɓnovel.cøm
