The first month of the year passed rather quickly and as far as everyone knew, Esong was still away on his exploration mission. Only Justin, Scarlet and the babies were aware of the truth.

Lanta was the only outsider with this knowledge but she didn’t share it with anyone.

The exchange of texts between Scarlet and Esong grew. They communicated more and more often, and not a day went by without hearing from each other.

Slowly by slowly, her demeanor also changed from dark and depressed to bubbly and fulfilled.

How goes your hunt for the baby eating demon? How does that thing keep evading you? Maybe you should be joined by an exorcist on your hunt so that you can trap it inside the human body it’s hiding in and have it removed from the underworld.

Aside from texting Esong regularly, she went ahead with her plans of introducing competitions across all realms of the deities that were interested by requesting for a chance to speak to the the council of gods.

Initially, she didn’t think that they would accept to meet her but she underestimated the influence and power she had as a Kopuko.

The deities showed up, many in number interested in her so called plan for entertainment that could minimize the number of wars they fought.

She didn’t show up alone to the presentation, but came with Lanta, Frost, the banshee, a few firebirds, some life angels, fairies and other creatures that they had convinced to see the advantages of having inter-realm games.

Not all the deities welcomed them of course. It was hard to miss some unreceptive glares that she received, especially from the god of life, Apo. He watched her while she was addressing the council with eyes that carried more hatred than those of the actual god of hatred who was also in attendance.

Still, Scarlet made her presentation and the major vote went her way. The inter-realm games were approved by the council of deities.

With the go ahead given, Scarlet’s drive and determination multiplied.

The second month of the year arrived and a heat wave along with it. Scarlet’s workload in the human world was reduced and she left even more of her governor duties to Emmett Wu.

In the supernatural world however, it increased as she and the others prepared for the very first games. She had to teleport from realm to realm and meet with all the interested parties, listening to their opinions and making changes to the games to create something that everyone would enjoy.

It was then that she realized, they didn’t need a single game but many games and competitions that could be played on land, air, water and underground.

In addition, she had to travel far and wide in search of a dead world that would serve as the venue for the games. No single realm could host them because some deities didn’t want others in their worlds.

She was busy, but she was also fulfilled. To Scarlet, this feeling of freedom and having a goal was greater than almost anything she had experienced since becoming a reaper.

The glow that she had lost slowly returned and she gained back the weight which she had lost. As far as everyone could tell at home, she was recovering and that was for the best.

The changes were not unnoticed by Esong. Sometimes, he teleported in and kept an eye on her in the underworld, far from where she couldn’t see him and he didn’t forget to commend her on the great job she was doing.

Esong: I have heard about the work you are doing, advocating for all supernatural creatures. I heard that you are trying to form a council with the leaders of other races to balance things in our world.

Stories about the inter-realm games have spread so far that even the creatures on new worlds i have never been to know all about them. Excitement is high and many are looking forward to participating or simply spectating. You have actually managed to unify the different realms and give them a shared goal.

I would like to commend you on a job well done and also, share the fact that i am proud of you.

I have been meaning to ask for a while, what name did you go by in your old world?

This was not question which Scarlet ever thought she would get from him. Nevertheless, it was pointing in the right direction. It was a sign that he was healing because previously, it seemed like he didn’t even care to know and all he saw her as was a stranger.

Scarlet: I have more time on my hands now and a clear purpose. The deities, hounds, friends and my family are all pitching in with baby sitting which has freed up my time. I underestimated how much work would go into the inter-ream games. I hope it will all be worth it in the end.

Scarlet: I am not Su Yan anymore, I have accepted the identity of Scarlet fully. You can continue addressing me by my current name.

Thanks for the flowers by the way, it is not often that one sees gold colored flowers. I was tempted to grow them but Lanta says they will wither since they don’t belong to this world. It’s such a pity that such beautiful flowers will have to go to waste. I am thinking of drying them and using them in my baths.
