Transmigration: On the Gossip Front-Chapter 927 - 928 Toxic Fatherly Love 60
Chapter 927: Chapter 928 Toxic Fatherly Love 60
Feng Min stood at the door of Zhang Yu’s house, taking several deep breaths.
She had known for a long time that after Zhang Yu moved out of the old house, she settled here. Over the years, City S underwent major infrastructure projects, and many new residential complexes sprang up—several even better than this one.
But this particular complex still made people talk, imagining how wonderful it would be to live here.
Xiao Jian and the others attended high school nearby, so it was convenient to get home. But she could only dream about it, knowing full well that Zhang Yu would absolutely never agree.
After knocking on the door for a long time with no response, Feng Min was fuming. "Unbelievable. Why won’t anyone open the door?"
Looking at the tightly shut door, Feng Min really wanted to kick it a couple of times, but she didn’t have the courage. What if she got caught in the act?
"Hmph, I’ll just wait here at the door. I don’t believe they won’t come out sooner or later."
Feng Min waited at the door for a long, long time—so long that the flowers had withered. Yet, not a soul came in or out.
"They wouldn’t... wouldn’t have gone on a vacation, right?" Feng Min knew that Zhang Yu and her family often went on trips.
What made her even angrier was that they never took the elders in the family, yet they had no problem bringing along a nanny. Just thinking about it made Feng Min furious—how could someone so wealthy not lend a hand to their maternal family?
No matter how much dissatisfaction she felt in her heart, the fact that Zhang Yu wouldn’t include them was something she had no power to change. What could she do?
Back when Zhang Yu was just a high school girl, she already ignored them without a shred of face-saving. Now, there was even less to say.
Powerless, Feng Min had no choice but to leave for now, planning to come back another day to look for Zhang Yu.
From early July to the end of August, Feng Min kept trying, but she still didn’t manage to run into Zhang Yu, her grandchild, or even the nanny.
The first thought that popped into Feng Min’s mind was—could they have moved again?
The possibility wasn’t far-fetched. Rent for both properties must have skyrocketed again, and just their annual rental income alone would invite envy from so many people.
Feng Min’s sneaky maneuvers certainly didn’t escape Wu Hao’s notice. He wasn’t worried in the slightest. "Have you been looking for Zhang Yu?"
Feng Min ignored him, knowing full well he would only mock and ridicule her.
"Do you honestly think that even if you could find Zhang Yu, she would help you?"
"No. Why? Because you’re the reason her mother and I divorced. Now that I’m divorcing you, she’ll likely be even happier."
"Also, she’s not even in the country." Wu Hao still couldn’t help but offer a reminder.
"How do you know?" Had Zhang Yu gone abroad? Feng Min thought Wu Hao must be lying.
After all, they were father and daughter, but Zhang Yu still refused to acknowledge Wu Hao. She would never inform him of something like this.
"She wouldn’t tell me."
"But someone else saw her abroad. She should’ve left at the beginning of July." Wu Hao was absolutely filled with envy and jealousy over Zhang Yu.
As her father, he was still toiling away, working hard to scrape together money for their child’s high school tuition fees.
Originally, he hadn’t expected Wu Min to even get into high school. But against all odds, she managed to scrape by on the cutoff.
A child getting into high school, of course, was a good thing. But it meant one thing—more expenses.
"She’s so rich." Feng Min glared angrily at Wu Hao. "You’re utterly useless."
Hearing those words, how could Wu Hao possibly hold back? Of course, he wasn’t going to take it lying down.
"I’m useless? Then why were you clinging to me back then?"
"If it weren’t for you, this crazy woman, my life could’ve been so much better."
"I wouldn’t have to work so hard and suffer; I could have traveled everywhere, enjoying myself."
"So now, you think I’m too poor? Back then, why couldn’t you control yourself?" Feng Min wasn’t about to let Wu Hao off, responding with cutting sarcasm.
"You complained about how bad Zhang Lina was, but now you’re saying something else."
"You’re such a coward." Feng Min looked at the visibly aged Wu Hao and suddenly felt that this marriage was unbearably meaningless.
"You’ve always wanted a divorce, haven’t you? Let’s get a divorce." Feng Min felt utterly exhausted. "But this house—there’s no way I’m giving it up."
While she was done with the marriage, Feng Min had no intentions of backing down when it came to the property.
"You want the house?" Wu Hao had been dragging things out over the past few days. Feng Min had been trying every trick, pulling strings in an attempt to avoid a divorce. Meanwhile, Wu Hao had been busy gathering evidence.
Over time, he had collected quite a bit. With each new piece of evidence falling into his hands, his disgust for Feng Min only deepened.
"Take a look at these documents first. After you’ve seen them, if you still insist on keeping the house, that’s fine—we’ll go the legal route."
Whether it would hurt his reputation or make him the subject of neighborhood gossip, Wu Hao no longer cared.
His family was already a colossal joke. Ever since his colleagues learned that the Zhang Family owned two commercial properties and a three-story building, they began looking at him as if he were some kind of fool.
Getting a divorce now would only give others more material for gossip—but it wouldn’t make the slightest difference to him anymore.
Taking the notebook Wu Hao handed over, Feng Min opened it—and her whole body froze in shock. "You, you..."
She never imagined Wu Hao would investigate this. "Impossible. It can’t be true."
Staring at the data in front of her, Feng Min felt like she was losing her mind. "You—this is just something you made up."
She couldn’t admit it. If she did, she knew all too well there would be dire consequences waiting for her.
Wu Hao wasn’t surprised by Feng Min’s refusal to admit the truth. "Fine, you can say I made it up."
"But I’m guessing it’s been a long time since you contacted your precious son, hasn’t it?"
"You don’t even know, do you? That so-called ’wonderful son’ and his wife you always praise have been showing off to their friends about having a fool who keeps giving them money and supporting them."
"Feng Min, you’re the biggest sucker I’ve ever seen. You’ve given so much to your maternal family—but what’s the result?"
"Have they appreciated it?"
"No. They’ve only squeezed you dry. Now that you can’t support them anymore, haven’t the insults and nasty words started flying your way?"
"You think your eldest son, whom you consider filial and understanding, really respects you? No. He just sees you as a resource. He spends your money and still talks badly about you. How does knowing that feel?" Wu Hao smirked as he stared at Feng Min.
Looking at Wu Hao’s smug smile, Feng Min felt utterly miserable. If she could, she truly wanted to punch him in the face right then and there.
"Wu Hao, mark my words—you’ll end up being an even bigger sucker than me." Feng Min glanced at the tightly shut door of Wu Jian and Wu Min’s room.
She knew both kids were inside, yet even with the two of them arguing and making such a scene outside, neither child bothered to come out. Raising them had been utterly pointless.
Feng Min had initially thought about picking between Wu Jian and Wu Min, deciding which one would stay with her and which one with Wu Hao. She had been determined to fight for custody of at least one.
But now, she was deeply disappointed in both of them. She no longer wanted to treat either of the twins favorably.
Instead of wasting her energy on them, she might as well save her money and buy herself a place to live. At least when she got old, she’d have somewhere to stay.
As that thought crossed her mind, Feng Min felt a deep sense of grievance. After all, she had passed the winter entrance exams and gotten into university. If she hadn’t gotten involved with Wu Hao and ended up entangled with him, her future could’ve been so much brighter.
Now she was left with neither reputation nor money, reduced to this miserable state. Over the past few days, the twins had perceived the shift in dynamics themselves.
They no longer wanted to be close to her, fearing she might ask them for money.
