Chapter 59 - Right after I brush my teeth

Min-Cheol held my hand and I looked down at it. It seemed like a harmless thing but I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

He called me his mate back there. I know he just said that for show, but what if it wasn't for show? What if he was starting to cultivate that mindset?

I felt I had to correct him now to avoid further misunderstandings but just as we were entering the mansion from the side door, we met Ki-hoon.

He was dressed in a nice and sparkling customized suit with a full-body coat hanging on his shoulders. His hair was sliced, as usual, but seeing as he was so concentrated on fixing his cufflinks, I couldn't help but admire the view.

He was doing something so simple yet it looked so extravagant.

Handsome and rich people were certainly a different breed.

And then, he lifted his gaze and his eyes met mine. It was just for a second, but I felt a lightning bolt zap from his eyes toward my heart, and then he smiled.

What was that?

I grabbed my chest, looking away. That handsome morning smile from a handsome face was so lethal. Min-Cheol did not spare me this morning and now Ki-hoon was doing the same.

Then, he started approaching.

"Good morning," he said and I could tell, even without looking at him, that he was disregarding Min-Cheol's presence and greeting me instead.

I took a second to catch my breath and then rolled my eyes towards him, hiding my fluster, and smiled.

"Good morning, Hyung."

"That's one, today," Ki-hoon said and I snapped.

Right, they were counting my smiles. So, it's already begun, huh? I wonder if Min-Cheol already started counting mine.

"It looks like you're on your way out, old man." Min-Cheol said with a taunting smile. "How unfortunate? You won't be able to get far with just one smile count."

Ki-hoon simply glanced towards him and then at the guards who were keeping a distance behind us.

"It seems you won't have the privilege of counting more, either." He said. "We're both busy men, after all."

"Right, right." Min-Cheol said as he nodded but then grinned. "But by my count, I'm already ahead of you."

Ah, so he already started counting. I definitely shouldn't underestimate what these men could do.

It was so strange how Min-Cheol was all smiles around me, like an adorable puppy, but looked like he was a fierce kitty around the others.

He was more of a tiger when dealing with his subordinates too. His treatment differs quite a lot depending on who it was he was facing.

Ki-hoon decided to ignore Min-Cheol from there and turned to me. His eyes immediately caught sight of the sparkle on my wrist, and he looked closely to find the gold bracelet resting beautifully around my wrist.

I noticed his eyebrows twitch a bit but he did not say anything regarding it and looked up at me.

"I know it's early, but would you mind having breakfast with me before I head to work?" He asked and I nodded.

"Of course," I answered. "Right after I brush my teeth."

I could take my bath after eating. I turned to Min-Cheol who was gnashing his teeth and looked like he was holding a fart.

Excuse me but that's just how I looked at it.

Wait a minute! Do these handsome men even fart? I have no idea. The author never mentioned any of it so it was a mystery.

But how would it be like, though?

Maybe they'd end up eating something that didn't go well with their stomach and then out of nowhere, in the middle of a conference or an important meeting, they'd just...

My face went red as I tried to hold myself back from laughing.

Just thinking about it was so embarrassing and yet it cracked me up so much.

Just how would they try to cover it up then? Would they clear their throat and act like nothing happened or would they blame the person next to them?

The more I thought about it, the more I went red in the face. I couldn't hold it back and ended up laughing.

I laughed so loud and hard that they both stared at me, confused. And even then, I still couldn't stop laughing.

I grabbed Ki-hoon's coat and laughed. I wanted to stop, I really did but... Ah, my chest felt so tight. A good laughter like this was a dime in a dozen but it only made me look weird in front of them.

Why didn't I think of this when I was alone? Now it looked like I was going mad.

"Sorry, sorry," I said as much laughter began to die down. "So sorry,"

I had to apologize because it was very rude of me to laugh out of nowhere. I just hoped they wouldn't misunderstand why I was laughing.

But in the first place, there was no way they would eat anything bad or anything that didn't go well with their belly because they only ate the finest.

The chef in this mansion was probably some world-renowned chef.

I felt a hand on my head and looked up to find Ki-hoon smiling at me. And then he laughed a bit before asking,

"Did you have a good laugh?"

What's this? Did my laughter make him feel happy? Or is it because...? I looked at the coat I was squeezing and realized I had wrinkled his perfectly straightened coat.

"Ah," I immediately let go but they did not change anything. My hands trembled. What to do? Should I get a steaming iron to straighten it or something? "Your coat, sorry," I said but he did not seem to mind and wiped the tears from the corners of my eyes.

"It's fine," he said. "I'm just glad I got to see you laugh so heartily." He started taking off his coat and handed it to his assistant whom I had only just noticed was standing a few feet away.

I think I've somehow been blinded by these handsome main characters that I don't see any other side characters.

How awful of me.

Anyway, he was still smiling at me proudly. Gosh, I feel he was only saying it was fine because I clung on to him when I laughed. It must've made him feel elated, huh? I turned my head around and found Min-Cheol staring at me with a shocked expression.

He looked like he had seen a ghost but not just any ghost, a pretty ghost.
