Trials of the Abyss-Chapter 613: Encountering the Thunderveil Godbeast Again
Chapter 613: Encountering the Thunderveil Godbeast Again
In the Lunar Divine Palace on the moon, Ying Yue rested her chin in her hand, lost in thought. She looked like a masterpiece that the heavens had meticulously crafted, even more beautiful in her silent contemplation.
Many mid-ranking Outer Gods, like the Sun God, had long coveted her beauty, pursuing her with unwavering dedication, but her heart remained unmoved.
Her only ambition was to ascend to a high-ranking God and establish herself as a dominant force among the Outer Gods.
At the moment, a Bright Moon Race worshiper was reporting the latest developments in the Abyss to her.
The Outer Gods had successfully persuaded the ancient Thunder Dragon, and their carefully orchestrated plan to overthrow the human race was progressing smoothly.
It would not be long before the Abyss would no longer be under the rule of the human race.
The participating Outer Gods would allow their followers to seize the different territories within the Abyss after the war was over.
The Ghost Race, the Radiant Race, the Flame Race, the Celestial Race, and the Demon Scale Race would claim the territories of the most powerful human sects in the First World of the Abyss thanks to the backing of their respective Outer Gods.
Meanwhile, the human race's dominion would probably be erased from the river of history.
After the dust settled, You Kui of the Ghost Race would likely exploit the matter of Ying Yue and Han Yi's alliance with Pang Jian in the Shadow Abyss, demanding even more rare spiritual materials from them.
Ying Yue could not help but feel deeply troubled because of this.
She secretly regretted letting her sympathy for Han Yi cloud her judgment, leading to the reckless mistake of forming an alliance with the youth from the human race, giving You Kui leverage to manipulate her.
"Ying Yue!"
A crystalline light flared, and the Frost Crystal God appeared, excitement radiating from her oval face.
Ying Yue was surprised. Slowly sitting upright, her willow-leaf eyebrows moved slightly as she said with a gentle reproach, "I've never blamed you for what happened. Why did you hide and refuse to see me?"
"I was too ashamed to face you," Han Yi's voice echoed with remorse as she stood in the vast, empty palace. "I've been trying to find a way to make up for your losses. I—"
"Enough." Ying Yue shot her a sharp glance. "I know you. You intend to go to that high-ranking God, right? You want to sacrifice yourself to shield me from You Kui's schemes. You've always been like this. You never want to owe anyone anything.
"Han Yi, I'm far wealthier than you. Whatever price You Kui demands, I can afford it. Our lives are endless. We have plenty of time to grow and slowly accumulate divine artifacts and rare treasures.
"Let me make it clear once more: I don't want you to degrade yourself for my sake!" Ying Yue said sternly.
"I met Pang Jian again back at the Shadow Abyss. I'm sorry I didn't listen to you. I kept in contact with him. He"—the Frost Crystal God lowered her head in shame—"promised me that the Ice Race in the Resolute Expanse of the Abyss would start worshiping me and that he would deal with You Kui soon.
"He even said he would handle that God giving me trouble in the future."
Even Han Yi struggled to believe her own words. Still, Pang Jian's confident attitude had moved her so much that she could not help but share it.
"He sure talks big! The human race in the Abyss is on the brink of extermination. Where does he get such confidence?" the Moon God sneered coldly.
"What?!" Han Yi exclaimed in shock.
"You've been in hiding, so you don't know much about the situation in the Abyss. Let me fill you in."
Ying Yue knew her words would hit Han Yi like a bucket of cold water, but even so, the Moon God was determined to lay out the harsh truth and shatter any lingering illusions.
After hearing everything the Moon God knew, Han Yi fell into silence.
The most powerful ancient Thunder Dragon of the Dragon Race, another Fey God of the Fey Race, and many other foreign race powerhouses had already made their move. Their assault led to the deaths of three True Gods of the human race, Mu Wentao, Li Chu, and Lin Qiyang.
At this rate, the battle would soon cement the human race's defeat, overturning their thirty-thousand-year rule over the Abyss.
As a newly ascended True God, Pang Jian had little chance of survival in such circumstances.
"His—his physical body is still in the Shadow Abyss! I have to warn him! He can never return to the Abyss!" Han Yi's puppet vessel in the Shadow Abyss immediately sprang into action.
***
A golden bee descended into Northern Qi. After receiving Yuan Qi's ice-blue eyes and the Ice Sculpture Beast's heart, it swiftly flew back into the bizarre mist above.
The Fey King White Fox, still in her human form, asked sorrowfully, "Your Excellency, Forefather is now dead with no chance of revival. What more do you intend to do?"
Pang Jian said nothing.
A lifeless World Tree stood nearby, devoid of vitality or murky energy. When Pang Jian arrived, only three Fey Kings had emerged in defence—the Ice Sculpture Beast, the White Fox, and the Rock Python—along with a dozen or so Rank Eight Great Feys.
The combat prowess of these seven fragmented lands within the bizarre mist was vastly inferior to that of the Fey Race on the Sacred Soul Continent. It would be no hardship to destroy it.
Still, his father had created this place.
Even though the Fey Race and the human race stood on opposing sides, Pang Jian had no intention of wiping out the remaining Fey Race in this place after killing the Nine-Headed Bird.
His Immortal Divine Soul shot to the far north, piercing through the bizarre mist and emerging beyond the boundary wall.
With a thought, Pang Jian established a connection with his physical body and opened up a spatial rift using his link with the Gate of the Abyss.
The Thunder Pool, once belonging to the Duke of Thunder, silently drifted out from that radiant spatial rift.
Establishing a connection with the Thunder Pool with his divine sense, he searched the bizarre mist for any sign of Thunder Gods. He needed to confirm whether Pan Di was still alive.
Before his Immortal Divine Soul left the Shadow Abyss, he had sensed four Thunder Gods through the Thunder Pool.
Two Thunder Gods and the Thunderveil Godbeast had been hunting Pan Di down.
Pang Jian sought to rapidly enhance his strength, and the best course of action he knew to achieve this was to hunt Outer Gods within the bizarre mist.
The boundary wall of the Abyss stood behind him. Even if he encountered a mid-ranking Outer God like Yang Luo again, he felt confident in his ability to retreat safely.
If he could kill a few more low-ranking Outer Gods, he could refine their remains using the Primeval Demon Fusion Art, allowing his Immortal Divine Soul to undergo a new transformation.
Even if his Immortal Divine Soul suffered severe injuries, the abundance of Fortune in the Abyss would allow him to heal swiftly.
His master had successfully ascended to godhood and harmonized with the barrier of the Abyss. With him helping the other True Gods, Pang Jian no longer needed to worry about the future of the human race.
The most important thing for him to do now was hunt Outer Gods and increase his strength as quickly as possible!
"Thunder Tremor!" A cluster of light exploded within the Thunder Pool.
Innumerable Lightning Dao Seals transformed into blinding lightning that coiled around the Thunder Pool.
The outer ring of lightning formed a lightning vortex, with the Thunder Pool at its core.
"Only the Thunderveil Godbeast and Pan Di remain, and these two are clearly much stronger than before. This meant the other two Thunder Gods were likely foreign race Outer Gods, not Fey Gods.
Did those two Fey Gods slaughter them and devour their divine power?
Pang Jian was astonished.
Meanwhile, in the depths of the bizarre mist, the Thunderveil Godbeast and Pan Di simultaneously sensed the Duke of Thunder's divine artifact just as Pang Jian locked onto them through the Thunder Pool.
"The Thunder Pool!"
"It's the divine artifact of the Duke of Thunder! Pang Jian!"
The two Thunder Gods immediately abandoned their conflict and charged straight toward Pang Jian.

A blazing sphere tore through the bizarre mist, entering the northernmost region of Northern Qi with a thunderous roar.
Within the burning sphere stood a beautiful foreign race woman with vibrant crimson skin. Like the Fire God, she hailed from the Flame Race, with red hair, brows, and eyes.
Her dark red hair flowed like rivers of flame, each strand a molten stream.
Hundreds of scarlet lightning bolts danced wildly inside the blazing sphere engulfing her..
This woman was the Rank Ten Qi Xu. She and Lie Yang had ambushed Wanderer Tian Du and Yin Ji in the First World before heading for the seven fragmented lands hidden in the bizarre mist.
Qi Xu had merely been the first of the two to arrive.
A brilliant light, sharp enough to sting the eyes, tore through the bizarre mist like a lightning bolt, appearing before the seven fragmented lands.
The radiance abruptly receded, transforming into a rough old man from the Radiant Race.
The old man wore his hair in many red braids, and his dark red face was covered in scars. At the center of his forehead was a mark of the scorching sun, which radiated intense light and heat.
Qi Xu's and Lie Yang's arrivals caused the seven fragmented lands to become unbearably hot.
"The Nine-Headed Bird sent us a distress signal. Is it dead or alive?" Qi Xu asked from within her blazing sphere.
The White Fox, in her human form, bowed her head and replied, "Pang Jian of the human race just killed Forefather's last surviving head. There's no longer any possibility of revival. Forefather has fallen ahead of time."
The arrival of Qi Xu and Lie Yang made the White Fox realize that Pang Jian's judgment had been correct.
Forefather's last surviving head had been an evil one as well. Otherwise, these two powerful foreign race warriors would not have descended so quickly.
If he had hesitated for even a second, that head could have escaped and survived.
"Where's Pang Jian?" Lie Yang asked.
This Patriarch of the Radiant Race had long been eager to confront the youth, hoping to avenge his son's death at Pang Jian's hands. His fiery gaze caused the White Fox visible pain.
The White Fox dared not meet his eyes. Instead, she pointed in the direction which Pang Jian had departed.
"He went into the depths of the bizarre mist."
The two Rank Ten powerhouses, Lie Yang and Qi Xu, charged headfirst into the bizarre mist.
Their collision with the boundary wall could be heard just moments later.

Pang Jian waited patiently on the other side of the boundary wall. After a long time, he finally saw the familiar Thunderveil Godbeast arrogantly approaching, wrapped in lightning.
"We meet again." Pang Jian grinned in genuine delight. "You once manifested yourself back at the Forbidden Land of the Thunder God. Back then, you failed to kill me, allowing me to take the Thunder Pool away.
"Now, the Thunder Pool is right in front of you. You've come here with your true body, so I'll give you a chance. Let's see if you can seize it."
