Chapter 549: Only after I pay you

Han Xin’s mind was a whirlwind after Xiang Yu’s words. He couldn’t think straight. The way Xiang Yu spoke, the charm in his voice, the subtle curl of his lips, it was intoxicating.

Han Xin couldn’t bear the thought of anyone else seeing Xiang Yu like this. The way he moved, the look in his eyes, it should belong to him and him alone.

He reached out, the back of his fingers grazing Xiang Yu’s cheek, trailing down the smooth skin. His touch was soft, almost reverent. Han Xin turned his hand, his thumb brushing close to Xiang Yu’s lips as he leaned in, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard.

His gaze lingered on Xiang Yu’s lips, the desire to kiss him again overwhelming. But before he could act, Xiang Yu spoke.

"I want to show you my plan," Xiang Yu said, his voice calm but firm. He gently pushed Han Xin back, creating a small distance between them, and walked over to the desk. He pulled out a sheet of paper and a pen, his movements deliberate and focused.

Han Xin stood there, his brain lagging slightly, a flicker of disappointment coursing through him. He watched as Xiang Yu glanced up, holding the pen. "Can I use this?" Xiang Yu asked.

Han Xin slid his hands into his pockets, his expression neutral, but his heart still racing. "You can use anything you want," he said, his voice low.

He walked over but stopped a few feet behind Xiang Yu, his feet rooted to the spot. He should have moved around the desk to stand in front of Xiang Yu, to see what he was drawing. But he didn’t. He stayed where he was, his gaze fixed on the back of Xiang Yu’s head.

Xiang Yu began to draw, the pen moving swiftly across the paper. He sketched the walls of the city, detailing the high structures. Then he added the vines of the mutated plants, weaving them into the design. When he finished, he turned slightly, his eyes meeting Han Xin’s. "Come look at this," he said.

Han Xin hesitated for a moment, his pride warring with his curiosity. But Xiang Yu didn’t wait. He reached out, grabbing Han Xin’s hand and pulling him closer. Han Xin stumbled forward, his thigh brushing against Xiang Yu’s back as he stood directly behind him. The proximity sent a jolt through him, his heartbeat quickening again, the calm he had barely regained shattered.

Xiang Yu pointed to the drawing, his voice steady but carrying a note of excitement. "We have the advantage point," he said, tracing the high walls with his finger. "Our walls are high, and we can spot the enemy from afar."

Han Xin’s eyes followed the lines of the drawing, but his focus was on something else entirely. He wasn’t paying attention. Not to the map, not to the strategy, not even to the words coming out of Xiang Yu’s mouth.

He was entranced, completely and utterly, by the strong, intoxicating scent of Xiang Yu’s body. The warmth of Xiang Yu’s body this close, the scent of him, the way his voice wrapped around every word... it was all too much.

Without thinking, Han Xin moved closer, his chest almost brushing against Xiang Yu’s back. The tip of his nose came dangerously close to Xiang Yu’s cheek, his breath warm and steady.

Xiang Yu blinked, his lashes fluttering as he felt Han Xin’s proximity. A slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, he continued speaking, his voice calm and measured.

"We need to arm the secure posts on top of the wall as well," he said, his finger tracing the outline of the city’s defences on the map. "In case they manage to get through the forest of vines, we will have to reinforce the perimeter."

Han Xin barely heard him. But he forced himself to respond, if only to keep up the pretence of being engaged in the conversation. He turned the paper slightly, his fingers brushing against Xiang Yu’s as he pointed to specific spots. "Here," he said, his voice low and steady. "And here. Those are the best places."

As he moved, he leaned in even closer, his chest now pressed lightly against Xiang Yu’s back. His fingers lingered on the map, his touch briefly overlapping with Xiang Yu’s. Xiang Yu felt a faint, almost ticklish sensation and he wondered if Han Xin was doing it on purpose. freēwēbηovel.c૦m

He turned his head slightly to look at him, his lips nearly brushing against Han Xin’s cheek. But when he saw Han Xin’s side profile, he realised there was no trace of amusement or mischief. Han Xin’s expression was serious, his brow furrowed as he carefully considered the placement of the defences and the weapons they would need.

Xiang Yu smiled, his gaze softening as he watched Han Xin. "And here too," Han Xin continued, his finger moving to another spot on the map. "We can have someone modify the long-range missiles and place them in the deserted part of the city. With a few calculations, we can end them before they even reach the vines. We will power them with nuclei minerals... it will be more effective. Right?"

Han Xin glanced at Xiang Yu, his eyes meeting his intense gaze. For a moment, the room seemed to still, the weight of their unspoken tension hanging in the air. Xiang Yu nodded, his voice steady. "Yeah."

Han Xin’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed hard, his voice dropping slightly. "How about we share our plan with the rest of the group?"

Xiang Yu nodded again, his smile faint but present. "Okay."

He shifted, preparing to move away from the desk and the map, but before he could, Han Xin’s arms wrapped around him from behind, pulling him into a firm embrace. Xiang Yu froze for a moment, surprised but not resisting.

He felt Han Xin’s breath against his ear, warm and steady, as Han Xin spoke, his voice low and tinged with possessiveness. "Only after I pay you," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Xiang Yu chuckled softly, his body relaxing into Han Xin’s hold. "Is that so?" he asked, his voice teasing but carrying a note of affection.

Han Xin didn’t respond with words. Instead, he tightened his embrace, his lips brushing against the side of Xiang Yu’s neck in a soft, almost reverent kiss.
