Chapter 1102: Chapter 1102: Guardian Sun

Summer Sutton’s face silently lifted, and she instantly saw hope.

She rushed to the bathroom door and started beating it with a "bang, bang."

While banging, she called for help, "Is anyone there? Please open the door!"

"Can anyone outside hear? Can you help, please?"

The sound of footsteps was still echoing.

Passing through the corridor, it seemed to enter the office where Summer Sutton was located.

"Please help! Please!" Her voice was loud, fearing someone outside wouldn’t notice her, might glance at the office, turn off the lights, and leave.

The bathroom door was banged so hard by her that her hand became swollen, her voice turned hoarse, and finally, the footsteps approached her direction.

The sound grew closer and seemed somewhat familiar.

The final stop was seemingly outside the bathroom door.

Then the bathroom door was pushed open.

The face that appeared in front of Summer Sutton was Manuel Ink’s face.

Summer Sutton stared at him, momentarily dumbfounded.

"The sun..."

Manuel Ink looked her up and down, scrutinizing her for a while, the face under the mask turning cold.

He seemed somewhat displeased, which Summer Sutton could clearly feel.

The man who always appeared indifferent to anything in front of her had eyes that turned chillingly cold.

This side of him made Summer Sutton pause again.

"How long have you been in there?" Manuel Ink gazed at her for a while, asking.

"Over five hours," Summer Sutton replied truthfully.

Manuel Ink’s expression turned even colder.

"Why are you still here so late? Working overtime?" Summer Sutton looked at him and asked tentatively.

Manuel Ink didn’t answer and just walked ahead of her towards the elevator.

Summer Sutton, having been trapped, didn’t want to stay in the bathroom for a moment longer and hurriedly followed him out.

"Haven’t eaten?" Manuel Ink asked her after pressing the elevator button.

In fact, due to the water-tampered lunch, Summer Sutton hadn’t had lunch nor dinner.

By this time, she was already so hungry that her vision was blurred.

She hadn’t spoken yet when her stomach growled.

With only her and his company building there, it was extraordinarily quiet.

So quiet that even the slightest sound could be heard clearly.

Manuel Ink turned his head and glanced at her again.

Summer Sutton felt a bit embarrassed, her gaze awkwardly shifted away.

Manuel Ink didn’t say anything, entering the elevator, taking her downstairs, then driving towards a restaurant close to the company.

He took her to a Chinese restaurant, which was Summer Sutton’s preference, seemingly knowing her taste.

After entering, without asking what she liked to eat, he browsed the menu.

Manuel Ink ordered quite a few dishes, without asking Summer Sutton’s preferences, yet when served, they were all to her taste.

This side of him made Summer Sutton pause once more.

"Enjoy." Manuel Ink threw her a sentence, flipping through a magazine.

He didn’t seem to be hungry, as all the dishes were ordered solely for Summer Sutton.

It was already quite late; Summer Sutton just wanted to go home sooner, rest, and resume work tomorrow.

With her head down, she swiftly finished off the food on the table and left the restaurant with Manuel Ink.

It was one o’clock by then.

By this late hour, Manuel Ink wouldn’t possibly let her go back alone.

Sending Summer Sutton back to Morning Garden, it was one twenty.

As Summer Sutton bent down to get out of the car, a figure slowly emerged from the villa balcony upstairs.

Quietly watching the scene at the door, the man upstairs had a somber expression.
