Qin Xue received the news too; it was a call from her family. Once again, she doubted her own expertise and abilities. Clearly, she was responsible for intelligence, yet she had been kept in the dark all along.

Her little brother crossed the border secretly, and she didn’t know. When something went wrong, the news traveled from the Northern District to the Southern District, and then it was passed here.

It took only a few short hours, but it dealt a massive blow to her pride she had held for so long.

On the Southern Border Battlefield, she was so spirited; she had been outstanding since childhood.

"Look at the good deed you’ve done." An elderly voice came through the phone, "Qin Xue, the hope I once had for you is now matched by disappointment. You couldn’t even look after your brother, what else can you do?"

The call came directly from the head of the Qin Family, Mr. Qin himself.

"I’m sorry, Grandfather."

"Forget it." Mr. Qin sighed, "Come back! Don’t stay in the Northern District any longer."

"No, Grandfather, I must bring Xiao Yue back." Qin Xue held the phone tightly, a fierce light erupted in her eyes. She couldn’t just give up like this; she must rise from where she fell.

In her thirty years of life, she had never failed, and she absolutely would not allow herself to be so incompetent now.
