Chapter 75 - 145
Picking up Ulna, Vertere gritted his teeth, avoiding eye contact.
Incus then walked towards the beauty who had somehow remained unharmed.
I noticed that the blood slashes would narrowly avoid her.
Looks like she’s important enough to not be killed indirectly.
Picking the chained beauty by the illuminating chains, Incus shattered the chains.
"T-Thank you!" The beauty coughed before fixing herself up, "As you may know, I’m the queen of Febritust... Evecles."
"Evecles you say." Incus stepped closer, making Evecles trip over herself backwards.
"W-What is it dear hero..?" She covered her face with her forearm, "Please don’t hurt me!"
Squatting down to meet eyes with her, Incus sighed.
"I just want to know if you’ve ever met the true truth seeker, also known as the original, and whether you’ve met them or not." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Evecles the queen of the water kingdom of Febritust paused in thought before answering:
"Sorry if this isn’t the answer you wanted but I’ve never met him... he was already gone by the time I’ve been born and became immortal." Queen Evecles said in a soft tone.
The atmosphere then shifted, shrouding over the entire man made lagoon.
Off in the distance, someone was standing in a desert, their cloak being blown by strong gusts of sandy wind.
"Is that so. Then do you have any other information on them wait... ’he’? I didn’t know that the original Truthseeker was a man." Incus lingered for a few seconds, "Anyways, tell me what you know about him."
"Information about him overtime has shifted to make him look like an all powerful being... well, he is but they focused too much on making him look mysterious!" Evecles pouted before continuing,
"I had become an immortal a hundred years after his sudden disappearance. People say that he was killed trying to battle the demon king, and some even say that he is the demon king... but that isn’t the truth. The original Truthseeker was someone from another world just like the previous hero before you—"
"What do you mean just like the previous hero before me!" Incus interrupted, making Evecles shriek.
A younger version of queen Evecles had appeared, waking up from a river.
Then, the same cloaked figure being blown my sandy win be summoned by multiple mages on a magic circle.
Calming herself down, Incus asked:
"What exactly do you mean by the the original Truthseeker and my predecessor being from another world?"
"It’s exactly what I meant, they had been summoned from another world just like you. However unlike the hero, the original Truthseeker was accidentally summoned from another world from the usual one that the continent summons—"
Stomping on the ground, Incus interrupted again:
"Usual world to be summoned from?" Incus growled.
"We’ve been commanded to summon from a place known as Earth by the heavens because of how the people’s body there don’t have any mana, making them the perfect vessel." Evecles inched herself back cautiously, "But a mistake had happened and instead of Earth, someone else was summoned from a different world known as ’threa’."
"Threa? Isn’t that just the opposite of Earth?" Incus asked.
"Indeed it is, making the people from that have an abundance of mana that put’s even our greatest world to shame... but that’s what makes them unpredictable." Evecles then stood up and commanded the water the form into figures that followed the story of her words.
"For example, humans from earth will lose all their powers but they will still have the thing’s they’ve learned physically, just not anything mana based." Evecles raised another hand, followed her words.
A person from Threa and Earth then stood opposite each other in the shifted atmosphere.
"But for the people from Threa, they can keep the thing’s that they have learned from this world’s magic and physical skills... if they ever learn the truth of how we can summon people from other worlds then it could lead to catastrophic actions that cannot be fixed." Evecles’ expression then grew grim.
The Threa and Earth people then clashed with the human from Earth losing due to the lack of ability to use magic.
"Which is why the summoned from Threa is called ’The Truthseeker’, He did everything within his powers to learn the truth behind the summoning spell... in the end when he had learned the truth, his body had become to full of information." Queen evecles grimaced,
"...Which eventually caused him to kill himself. The summoning takes multiple mages for a reason, each mage doing one step of the countless steps the magic needs."
"How about the new Truthseekers? How is it possible that there are new ones?" Incus asked.
"It’s more so a title given to his descendants. His offsprings are given the true eye of the truth seeker... the eye’s ability slightly evolves over time." Queen Evecles pointed at Incus’ face,
"However, the eye that you currently have is the closest it’s to the original Truthseeker’s."
"Is that so?" Incus asked softly, "How do you know that?"
"Although I haven’t witnessed it, the original Truthseeker’s eye had been gauged out during his mental instability. The king of that time grew afraid of his power and decided it was the best action for the future."
The atmosphere then shifted again as the cloaked figure’s eye was forcibly torn away from his eye socket.
"How did he kill himself?" Incus pondered.
"He chose to invade the demon’s territory by himself." Queen Evecles replied.
"Shouldn’t he have just used his magic on himself? It would make the most sense." Incus titled her head.
"His body was too powerful." Evecles’ voice grew stern, "No... the correct term would be his body was a natural repellent of magic, making him completely immune. In short, he was the strongest weapon."
"If that’s the case then how did he die in battle—?"
"By that time, both of his eyes were already torn out." Said queen Evecles, interrupting Incus.
The atmosphere then dissipated, turning the room back to normal.
"I’ve learned all that I wanted... but I do have a question." Incus’ aura became sharp, "Will you join my coalition."
