What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 96: Tyler’s Mindset
Tyler couldn’t help but show a satisfied aunt’s smile when he saw this. He was happy that Xue agreed to help.
She could’ve ignored him completely. After all, she was his teacher, not his caretaker.
Her job was to teach him.
But the fact that she chose to pass down her skills on arrays to Elena meant two things.
Either she didn’t care how far Elena could reach those skills, or she did care, but her knowledge wasn’t that important.
Both could be true since cultivation wasn’t about arrays.
Arrays were just professions. For cultivators, talent was necessary. If her upper limit was already fixed, she could never achieve a higher level of cultivation.
If that’s the case, Xue didn’t need to worry about her. But Tyler wouldn’t just let her remain weak.
Even Xue knew this. So, she showed genuine kindness towards Elena, unlike Jenny, whose first words were about killing or controlling them.
Now that he thought about it, he couldn’t help but chuckle.
He still remembered the days when he feared Jenny would control his body and kill his loved ones.
That fear hadn’t disappeared completely.
He had read too many novels where the man was betrayed by his woman. Despite that, he did trust them.
He would rather be heartbroken than doubt his women.
Even if he couldn’t dispel that fear, he no longer had to be secretive towards his women.
His goal hadn’t changed.
He still wanted to reach the peak of the cultivation world. But with the weight of the war and changes to his people, he had learned to adapt.
The fact that the fishman race rejected him for a meeting proved just how difficult the peace was.
He had given the idea to Hongsu, but Hongsu didn’t have the guts. He couldn’t hand over the weapons that could destroy the world.
Not because he didn’t have them, but rather every cultivator of his realm had the power to destroy the world.
But during a battle, their power cancels each other, often keeping the world safe.
That’s why even the conflict between top powerhouses wouldn’t destroy the world.
"I have a feeling that you are thinking of something bad."
Xue gave him a suspicious gaze and spoke.
Tyler rubbed his head.
"Am I that obvious?"
He quickly shook his head.
"No, no, I am thinking of peace."
"Peace...Something like this is impossible in this world. Give up on that delusional idea, Tyler!"
Xue shook her head and sternly replied.
"Why? Why do you think it is impossible?"
Tyler asked, being genuinely curious about her views on war.
Murong Xue took a deep breath and said.
"You should know about the Blood Sword Scripture’s power, right?"
Tyler paused and nodded.
She continued.
"To cultivate that kind of sword, I have slaughtered millions. It’s nothing new, nothing too disastrous."
’But have you thought about the families of those people? In my case, I don’t need to worry about anyone since I’ve already reached the peak."
"But there are millions of people like me who couldn’t reach the peak and have enemies everywhere."
"Do you think their enemies will forgive them? Friendship, family, love, everything is cheap in front of cultivation."
"And hatred takes that to another level. You can never stop someone from taking their revenge without killing them."
"But once you kill them, you will form new karma, and this new karma will continue to hunt you down until you have killed everyone."
"Of course, this will not happen. Someone will kill you once you become uncontrollable."
"Nobody wants a madman above their head. So, your idea of peace is nothing but delusion."
Tyler got silent upon hearing her words. She wasn’t wrong. It was impossible to stop someone from taking his/her revenge.
Just like how it would be impossible to ask them to give up their revenge.
This wasn’t an anime-type world where the power of friendship could prevail. It was a world where brothers could kill each other for inheritance.
It was a world where a grandfather would take over the body of his grandson to continue living.
Because of this, Tyler’s idea for peace was never that big.
Unless he could achieve the highest level of cultivation in this universe and establish a proper police force, he couldn’t maintain peace.
But there was a way to stop war between races.
In fact, he wasn’t even sure if something like this was even possible. So until he got confirmation for this idea, he would not speak about it.
Not even to his women.
"You are right. But I still want to give it my all. Teacher, you can’t stop me from making a goal."
Tyler said.
Hearing that, Xue helplessly sighed. Her student was stubborn, incredibly stubborn.
No matter what she said, she couldn’t change his mind.
"Alright! What do you plan to do next?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
She asked.
"Reach the Soul Sublimation Realm as quickly as possible, then I can leave this country and explore the world."
He took out the copy of a map he got from Daisy and placed it on the table.
The map was quite big, and it showed the main countries within their continent. He pointed at the north-east part of the Red Hog Country.
"My next goal is to visit this place."
"Oh? Do you have any specific idea?"
Xue curiously asked.
Tyler nodded, took out a red marker, and made a circle on that area before continuing.
"This should be where the headquarters of the Holy Church of Humanity exists. From what I know, this force is quite strong, having several Soul Sublimation Realm cultivators."
"More importantly, it is also a force from outside the country. My goal is to destroy it."
Xue gave him a confused look.
"Why? From what I know about you, you are not a bloodthirsty person."
Suddenly, she remembered something about Elena from her memories.
"Is it about her?"
She pointed at Elena, who was meditating and absorbing the knowledge she had imparted.
Tyler shook his head.
"If you are an ordinary man, help yourself. If you are an extraordinary man, help others. This is my principle."
"Before this, I was too weak to do anything. This is an organization made by humans, but they are also a cult."
"Nothing is worse than a cult! When you join an organization or a business, you do that out of your skills, knowledge, and necessities."
"But you join a cult out of obsession. And when your obsession is about killing those who are not humans or the half-humans, then you are pretty messed up."
"Some of the most evil people aren’t the ones who want other people dead. They are the ones who thrive in the suffering of their own people."
Xue took a deep breath.
Her mind was slightly affected by his words. She never considered herself to be a righteous person.
After all, she was the one who created Blood Sword Scripture. But in her eyes, the people she killed were evil and enemies of her race.
Her mind wasn’t shaken because she thought she had killed the wrong people.
Her mind was shaken because she had the slightest illusion that she was a good person.
After all, she fought for her race, her people. But how much innocent blood had she absorbed in her sword?
Even she couldn’t answer this question.
"Are you feeling bad, teacher?"
Tyler asked before shaking his head.
"You and I are different people. You must never feel bad about your decision. A swordsman can never doubt themselves."
"In their mind, once they raise their swords, they either do it to protect somebody or draw blood."
"Your sword has only been drawn to take blood, but that doesn’t mean you are wrong. You are a swordsman, teacher."
His words had an immediate effect on her.
Yes, she was a swordsman. How could she feel bad about drawing her sword?
Whether she took the blood of an innocent person or an evil person, it didn’t matter.
Tyler continued.
"As I said, I am not doing this for humanity or for Elena. I am doing this because I see them as enemies."
"I don’t accept cults. I don’t accept their idea of killing innocent babies just because they are born from two different races."
"I don’t accept their ideas of opposing other races for human supremacy. So, I will kill them."
"My action could kill people who are protecting innocent humans. It could kill people whose existence is keeping other races from attacking humans."
"It could kill people who joined them for revenge because their families were persecuted or destroyed by other races."
"But I will not hesitate. Because this is what my heart tells me."
He looked straight into his teacher’s eyes and said.
"I’m a swordsman. Once I make a decision, I must complete it. If I am affected by the Karma of the innocent people I’ll harm, then let it come to me."
"I will cut that Karma as well."
When he said that, a ball of sword energy condensed in the middle of his Sea of Consciousness.
