Chapter 759: Chapter 722: Elemental Mastery

Duke’s spiritual power probed into the Six-Ring Badge, checking the courses he had enrolled in, and then activated the rapid arrival function inside, causing a Light Gate to appear before him.

He walked along the cobblestone path towards the barrier Light Gate.

The moment he passed through the Light Gate, the ground beneath his feet suddenly gave way; it wasn’t truly stepping into emptiness, but rather the sensation shift from soft meadow to hard stone slabs.

Then Duke found himself standing on a suspended gallery bridge.

The bridge surface was about three yards wide, paved with some kind of faintly glowing gray-white stone, with waist-high hollow railings on either side.

Looking down through the railing, there was a void that was several hundred yards deep, with the silhouettes of islands and the dark blue sea faintly visible below.

In the distance, countless similar gallery bridges criss-crossed, connecting the islands into a three-dimensional transportation network.

There were already quite a few pedestrians on the bridge, young wizards in robes of various colors, hurrying along, most likely students heading to class like him.

There were also official personnel in council uniforms, holding scrolls or books, looking focused, occasionally stopping to exchange a few words quietly with companions.

No one was speaking loudly, no one was looking around; that quiet and efficient rhythm is a habit developed by those who have long been in highly ordered environments.

Duke didn’t walk fast.

As he walked, he observed everything around him.

The end of the bridge led to a much larger island.

On the island stood several gray-white stone buildings, the tallest being about seven stories, its top covered with a light blue alchemy dome, glowing with a soft halo under the sunlight.

The buildings were connected by neatly paved stone paths, flanked by meticulously trimmed low shrubs, with a few bronze benches scattered about for resting.

This was the teaching district of Zone 7.

He continued along the stone path and soon found the Zone 7 teaching building.

It was a three-story stone structure, square and sturdy in appearance, with no unnecessary decorations, only an abstract pattern of the Six-Ring Tower carved above the main entrance, with six concentric arcs and a small star at the innermost circle.

A few young wizards were already standing at the entrance.

Some leaned against the wall, fiddling with their badges, while others gathered in groups, conversing quietly.

Duke spotted a few familiar faces, some students from the Star Tower, and that ponytailed witch from White Cliff Academy.

He did not pause and walked straight into the teaching building.

The corridors were spacious, with Everbright lamps embedded in the walls at intervals, emitting a soft and non-dazzling white light.

At the staircase corners were signs indicating the distribution of classrooms on each floor.

Duke climbed the stairs to the third floor, following the corridor to find room 301.

The door was open, so he walked right in.

The classroom was much more spacious than expected, capable of accommodating about a hundred people, with tiered seating, each row equipped with wide desks and comfortable armchairs.

At the front was the podium, behind which hung a large, faintly glowing screen on the wall, still blank at the moment.

About twenty people were already present.

Some sat in the front row, flipping through their notes; some at the back, resting with their eyes closed; some leaned against the window, gazing absentmindedly at the sky outside.

Duke chose a spot by the window, not too far towards the front, and sat down.

From here, he had a perfect view of the distant Sky City.

The Floating City was even more awe-inspiring than seen from the airship.

It hovered quietly on the horizon, its base encircled by a halo of pale golden energy, topped with staggered turrets and domes.

At the center, the highest tower, was refracting a flowing silver-blue radiance in the sunlight, like a miracle constructed of light itself.

He watched for a moment, then looked away.

The classroom was filling up with more and more people.

Vera and Leon walked in side by side, conversing quietly, finding two adjacent seats in the third row.

Vera opened a thick leather notebook, starting to write and draw in it.

Leon leaned back in his chair, his gaze sweeping over the other faces in the classroom.

The Star Tower students sat together, taking up an entire row in the fifth row.

The ponytailed witch sat at the edge, discussing something with her companion beside her, her tone lighthearted.

There were quite a few people from White Cliff Academy too; the Warlock who once talked enthusiastically with Leon at the landing area sat in the sixth row, waving to Leon, who nodded slightly in response.

Doomsday Bell’s Morris had also arrived.

He quietly entered the classroom without greeting anyone, heading straight to the farthest corner of the last row to sit down.

There, he was backlit, his figure almost blending into the shadows.

Sometimes Duke felt that Morris was like an undead, disliking sunlight, always preferring to hide where the light couldn’t reach.

Morris seemed to notice, glancing at Duke, who immediately looked away.

He turned his head to look outside; the Sky City still hovered quietly there.

The distant sea shimmered with rippling light under the sunlight, occasionally a dirigible passed through the clouds, leaving a faint trail in the sky.

More people were coming into the classroom.

With some time before the course began, all seats were already filled.

About sixty people, from different continents, different forces, different factions, all sat quietly in this classroom now, waiting for the arrival of the Level 4 Mage.

Duke saw Lis had also arrived.

She briskly walked into the classroom, her gaze wandering among the heads, finally landing in Duke’s direction.
