My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 523: He Just Saw Her Roll Her Eyes!
The two of them arrived in front of Summer Shawcross, their gaze fixed on the eagle she was holding in her arms.
"Oh, thank goodness it’s alright!" Butler Ye sighed deeply, taking the old eagle from her arms and handing it to Master Drexler.
Master Drexler handed his cane to the servant behind him, then extended his arms to take the eagle into his embrace, gently stroking it. Despite his face being lined with wrinkles, he was still recovering from the shock.
Summer Shawcross paused, suddenly realizing something; the ’General’ they had been referring to was this ugly eagle!
"Master, it’s good that the General is back," Butler Ye comforted Master Drexler in a soft voice.
Master Drexler nodded, then petted the ’General’ in his arms before raising his head to look at the servant in front of him. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Seeing him suddenly look her way, Summer Shawcross instinctively had a bad feeling, thinking he might accuse her of kidnapping his eagle.
After all, someone like Master Drexler, who wouldn’t even spare his own son, didn’t seem like someone who played by the rules.
"Master Drexler, I just stepped in to help it because I saw it couldn’t stand," Summer Shawcross forced a smile and explained to Master Drexler.
After she finished speaking, Master Drexler’s expression changed a bit before he finally spoke to her.
"Do you hate me?"
He had just seen her roll her eyes!
Suddenly confronted by Master Drexler’s question, Summer Shawcross was stunned for two seconds before showing a phony smile.
"How could I, Master Drexler? How could I hate you? You must have misunderstood something!"
As she spoke, probably because she despised herself for having to lie, she couldn’t help but show a look of disdain.
Her expression, however, led Master Drexler to fall into contemplation, as some long-buried memories suddenly surged forward like a seal had been broken.
He suddenly handed the eagle in his arms to Butler Ye, then sighed deeply before surprisingly speaking to the servant in front of him.
"For over twenty years in this family, no one has dared to roll their eyes at me!" His wrinkled eyes seemed to hide countless stories of hardship.
Master Drexler’s words left Summer Shawcross stunned. She hadn’t even realized she had unconsciously rolled her eyes at him, who would have thought Master Drexler noticed it.
"Master Drexler, you must have seen wrong; how would I dare roll my eyes at you?" Summer Shawcross maintained a smile, refusing to admit she had rolled her eyes, knowing he couldn’t punish her for something without evidence!
Seeing her steadfast denial, Master Drexler showed no sign of anger on his face; instead, he stared at her face.
After a while, Master Drexler finally looked away, gave a self-deprecating smile, and continued to speak.
"I’ve kept this General for decades. Although it’s old now, none of the servants in the Drexler Family usually get close to it—sometimes, even I get hurt by it. I never thought you’d dare to hold it." Indeed, he was a bit surprised that this seemingly ordinary servant was rather nimble and bold.
Hearing Master Drexler’s words, Summer Shawcross was startled, realizing just how dangerous this eagle was. However, after hearing Master Drexler’s words, she couldn’t help but feel that the eagle, which could unintentionally harm its owner of many years, was a perfect match for Master Drexler, who would heartlessly hurt his own child for the sake of profit!
