My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 522: A Palace Devoid of Emotion and Warmth
Summer Shawcross gasped in fright at the thing she saw, and upon closer inspection, she realized that the mass that had just fallen from the tree was actually a gray-brown bird, which looked quite large, almost like an eagle.
She couldn’t help but be a bit surprised. How could there be an eagle in this place?
The eagle had fallen to the ground, and whether it was injured or for some other reason, it flapped its wings for ages but couldn’t get up.
Seeing it struggle, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but squat down and reach out to help it up. But she was worried that this kind of bird might hurt her, so she pulled her sleeve down to wrap her hand before reaching out to help the eagle turn its toppled body right.
Finally, the eagle managed to get its feet on the ground and stood up.
Summer Shawcross withdrew her hand, a satisfied smile appearing on her face.
"Hurry up and get out of this gloomy place," she muttered, glancing at the eagle.
In her view, this place was nothing but a luxurious palace devoid of any emotion or warmth.
Her father could be so calculating, not hesitating to use a virus to control his own child. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The Drexler Family was really a place with twisted morals!
If people felt suppressed here, the animals probably wouldn’t be comfortable either.
Unfortunately, the eagle didn’t understand human language; after she finished speaking, it didn’t respond, just shook itself while standing on the ground, showing no intention of flying away. Rather, it behaved quite calmly, unlike the sharp and fierce eagles she remembered. It really seemed like just a large bird, albeit a slightly ugly one...
Summer Shawcross looked around, eventually extending her hand tentatively, trying to put it in the bushes for it to hide until it regained its strength to fly away.
In such a loveless place, who knows if the eagle would end up being cooked if it were found...
What surprised Summer Shawcross was that this eagle seemed not very wild; when she reached out and embraced it, it didn’t resist at all, instead it was quite tame.
Feeling a bit astonished, she carried it to the roadside bushes and placed it down, then turned to leave.
But just as she left, she heard slight rustling sounds from the bushes, and to her surprise, the eagle followed her, slowly walking out.
"Do you want to end up in the pot?" Seeing this, Summer Shawcross muttered helplessly.
Thinking about Snowy Sister’s matters, she didn’t have the mindset to waste more time with it and continued walking ahead.
Yet, the eagle behind her also started to walk toward her again. When Summer Shawcross turned around, it had already reached her side.
Seeing this, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but display a helpless expression. Just as she bent down to pick up the eagle again and put it back into the bushes, she suddenly heard a rush of footsteps behind her.
"What, what, what... what are you trying to do to the General?" a nervous voice from Butler Ye suddenly came from behind her.
Hearing Butler Ye’s voice, Summer Shawcross paused.
General?
Was he talking to her?
She turned her head in confusion and saw Butler Ye supporting an old man walking toward her.
And that old man was none other than the Drexler Family’s master, whom she disliked the most!
