Chapter 41: Chapter 41: The Tear Mole Below the Eye Corner

Matthew Morgan looked at the pitch-black sky, then lowered his head to look at Chloe Grant.

She was looking forward, but there wasn’t any focus in her gaze, yet she was trying hard to pull up a smile on her face.

Matthew Morgan was a little entranced by her, murmuring, "Especially beautiful."

Chloe Grant smiled, but her eyes became misty with tears, "Is that so? But it’s a pity, I can’t see."

Although Chloe Grant was smiling, she was obviously disappointed.

The times she could see the moonlight were few and far between.

Chloe Grant pressed her lips together, her eyes continuously looking upwards, almost as if rolling back, but she was trying hard to control her tears.

Chloe Grant was actually a person who loved to cry a lot, and the tear mole at the corner of her eye had already destined her to a flood of tears.

"There will be chances to see it in the future." Matthew Morgan said.

He reached out, his fingertip sliding over Chloe Grant’s face, wiping away the tear that had fallen.

Chloe Grant was a bit surprised, froze for a moment, and instinctively had the first reaction to withdraw.

The hand originally grasping Matthew Morgan’s also slightly loosened.

It was a kind of self-protection and subsequent detachment.

Matthew Morgan’s hand remained rigid in the air, with a slight frown.

As he frowned, the cold aura emanated from him, making people feel fear and distance from the heart.

In a panic, Chloe Grant hurriedly withdrew her hand.

But in the current darkness, she couldn’t grasp anything, only Matthew Morgan.

In the end, she weakly grabbed Matthew Morgan’s sleeve again.

Just that kind of very careful little grasp, not daring to touch too much, nor get too close.

Very conflicted.

Matthew Morgan’s originally tense face was amused by her cautious and somewhat pitiful action.

The hand stiff in the air naturally fell down, grabbing Chloe Grant’s hand.

Her hand was really soft, as if there were no bones, small, and chubby.

Matthew Morgan was just about to pull her hand into his arms, when a car’s engine sound came from the front, followed by a beam of car lights shining in this direction.

The light came too suddenly and was dazzling, Matthew Morgan immediately pulled Chloe Grant’s hand, pressing it against his chest, avoiding direct contact with the light.

Chloe Grant was completely dazed.

Matthew Morgan held her tightly, she didn’t dare to struggle, small and timid like a kitten.

Matthew Morgan lifted his gaze, looking at the flamboyant red Ferrari driven into the yard.

Inside the car, Lucas Morgan was biting a cigarette, with Lily Grant sitting in the passenger seat.

It was only after Lucas Morgan met Matthew Morgan’s icy gaze that he realized Chloe Grant’s eyes couldn’t take sudden strong light.

A year ago, an accident had occurred.

The university Chloe Grant attended had a sudden power outage, and someone had shone a flashlight directly into her eyes, causing her immense pain at the scene. For the next two days, she couldn’t see anything.

Lucas Morgan hurriedly turned off the car lights.

Removed the cigarette, and extinguished it.

Turning to look at Lily Grant beside him, he smiled indulgently, "Sorry, Chloe can’t take strong lights. But don’t worry, I’ll help you out of the car."

After saying this, Lucas Morgan unbuckled his seatbelt, got out of the car, walked around the front, and opened the door for Lily Grant.

"I know, Chloe can’t take strong light. I don’t know if she’s okay, if she’s not hurt?" Lily Grant said as she got out of the car, "It’s all my fault, knowing Chloe is at home yet allowing you to turn on the lights. I wish I wasn’t afraid."

"It’s okay, it’s not your fault." Lucas Morgan reassured her good-naturedly.

These words naturally reached Chloe Grant’s ears without missing a single word.
