Be Careful What You Wish For: A Zombie Apocalypse-Chapter 241 - 26.1111111
Chapter 241: 26.1111111
Luci, I mean Lilith, scoffed at me. "Right, because you are some sort of kind divinity that cares more about her people than anything else in the world. Next, you are going to tell me that the sky is purple... right?"
Snapping my fingers, I never took my eyes off hers. "The sky is purple." I didn’t need to look up to see that the afternoon sky had changed from blue to purple. I knew without a doubt that it would be.
"More than humans, more than angels... my demons were pure magic," I continued, my voice ringing out around us. "And the Earth realm is where magic goes to die. It’s why the demons, even when they do find a window into another realm, always come back home. They get weak, they start getting sick... they start dying."
Lilith looked at me, her face completely impassive, but I knew I caught her attention. That was right... angel lady... you are a lesser being than my demons. Suck on that for a while.
"This isn’t like what came first, the chicken or the egg situation. When I saw the demons getting sick and dying without cause, I created a place where they could go and live the way they wanted to. No one to judge their actions and choices, no soul-sucking realm where they were so weak they could hardly hold their heads up high. I made an entire world for them to live happily ever after."
Dipping my head, I let out a low chuckle as I played with the old blood still on my cheek. "But like children, the demons forgot why they stayed in Hell. They forgot what it was like to have their very lives sucked out of them. Like children, all they could focus on was the one thing they couldn’t have."
"You are still nothing more than my replacement," shrugged Lilith. "And no amount of fancy words are going to change that fact." ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"And you are nothing but a washed-up whore who thinks the only way to get power is to get under a powerful man," I dismissed, waving her away. "You are just pissed that I am the most powerful man around, and I don’t swing that way."
Lilith let out a screech so loud that I was pretty sure only dogs could hear. "You don’t know what you are talking about," she hissed at me, her eyes flashing white before she simply disappeared.
The sound of slow clapping made me realize that I wasn’t as alone as I had originally thought. "Hey, guys," I waved at them while shoving a banana lollypop in my mouth. Hopefully, they wouldn’t expect me to talk to them since my mouth was full.
"You going to tell us what that was all about?" asked Dante as he stared me down.
"And an explanation regarding the blood would be a perfect start," growled Tank, his eyes never leaving the dried blood on my cheeks. Shesh, it was like a girl couldn’t have any fun without her men getting their panties in a twist.
Pointing my lollypop at Tank, I spoke. "Two soldiers appeared in front of me, tried to kill me, the house killed them." Before he could even reply, I swung my lollypop at Dante. "I was talking out of my ass, but it seems like I wasn’t as wrong as I originally thought. Now I’m freaking out and don’t want to talk about it. I’m going inside."
With a decisive nod of my head, I stepped through the bright red door and closed it firmly behind me, letting out a soft sigh. I was being completely honest with Dante. I was using the tried and true method of faking it until you made it when I was talking to Luc—Lilith because I was internally freaking out.
Why would people just stay dead?!? I was really getting sick of all this bull shit. I miss the good old days when people were polite and stayed dead! Seriously!
With my mind spinning out of control, I walked into the office and opened the window.
When one door closes, a window opens. And since the scenery outside looked like paradise, complete with a beautiful ocean and grass roofed huts, I was going there. I had enough of this shit, and I wanted a vacation.

"Anyone wanna try ’n figure dat out?" asked Dimitri, his head cocked to the side. "Cause Imma not entirely sure I gots the point."
"There is no way any soldiers got past us to take a shot at her," argued Tank with a firm shake of his head. "We would have noticed."
"Unless..." murmured Chang Xuefeng, his brows furrowing. "Is it possible that some of the humans could transport themselves? I mean, that would explain how someone got past us without anyone noticing."
Ronan shuddered at the thought. "I’s donna like that," he grunted. "But I’m no saying you be wrong either." Shuddering again like a dog shaking off water, Ronan clapped his hands together. "We figure out all dat later," he announced. "Right nows, we got bigger fish to fry."
A slow smile stretched across Luca’s face as he nodded his head. "Donna be worryin’ yerselves. We all know I gots the most heads."
Dimitri scoffed at that statement, his face twisting in a smile. "Nah, mon frère, I made de most kills. Yous all gonna ’ave ta sit back ’n listen while I please our woman."
This time, it was Chang Xuefeng’s turn to scoff at Dimitri’s statement. "I think we’re all screwed on that," he muttered, pointing to the bins and the scoreboard. "We forgot that the ref isn’t exactly impartial."
"Wadda ya mean?" asked Salvatore, his eyes narrowing as he spoke the most words in a single sentence yet.
"The house the part of Hattie, so it unconsciously does her will," answered Tank with a sigh. "And Hattie refused to choose."
Each one of the nine men turned and stared at the bins with their names over top. "26.111111111," read Désiré, his forehead scrunching as he tried to figure out how there was 0.1111111 of a head in his bin.
Luca reached into his bin and, with two fingers, pulled out what looked to be a chunk of a head, the blood still pouring out of it. "What do you want to bet that this head has been severed into nine pieces when we weren’t looking?" he asked with a soft chuckle.
Well, that answered that question. Hattie might not be all that great about showing her feelings, but she felt the same about all of them.
And that was the best reward.
