Chapter 447: Guns Don’t Kill Demons

Pride/Dante... I don’t know who was in control at the moment... silently stroked my cheek as he stared into my eyes. "Go get Ronan," he murmured softly, even as his thumb drifted over my lower lip. "I know for a fact that he is always up for a nap. Plus, the others might need to be saved from him."

Cocking my head to the side, I looked back into his pitch black eyes. While his voice might be soft and caring, there was a certain hardness about him that made me worried. Not much got to Pride, so whatever was going on in this room was pissing my poor demon off.

"Are you sure?" I offered my eyes, never leaving him. We were in a room full of enemies that had all tried to take us out in the past. And while Bishop was currently on our side, that was simply because we could offer him what the others couldn’t.

And truth be told, I had no idea how long Bishop would stay on our side once his shit list had been taken care of. "I can take everyone out, and then you don’t have to worry." freewёbnoνel.com

"With you close to me, I never have to worry about anything," assured Pride. His face was still impassive, but I could see a flickering flame deep inside his eyes sparking to life as he stared at his thumb on my lower lip. "But I have some unfinished business."

Leaning forward, I kissed him boldly on the lips, taking my time to taste his flavor like we were the only two people in the world. "Then I’ll leave you to it," I agreed as I pulled away. However, Pride didn’t seem to like that.

Grabbing the back of my head, he pulled me into him even as he took over the kiss. While mine had been slow and teasing, his was nothing of the kind. His lips devoured mine like he was trying to merge our two bodies into one.

"You’re playing with fire," he growled softly as he pulled back. "You need to be careful."

"That’s Désiré," I teased him with a half smile. "I figured with you I was playing with lightning."

"Either way, you are going to be burned," he continued, even as he pulled me back for a kiss.

"Find me when you are done," I smirked, stepping away from the demon on the couch. "I’m tired of being a good girl."

Truer words were never spoken. I was tired in more ways than one. I was tired physically, sure, but I was also tired of letting my past determine my future. Sure, I hated sex, and the very idea of it was enough to turn my stomach.

But Salvatore had taught me otherwise. And if I had thought it was a one time thing, Ronan was just as convincing.

So, I was no longer going to hold back. As soon as I could, I was going to fuck my men.

Nodding my head, happy with my newfound determination, I spun around and winked at Réne. "Thanks for saving me all those years ago. I really thought you were my Prince Charming. It’s nice to know that I was wrong. You and Alicia deserve each other. I wish that no matter what life you are living, that you find each other again and again. It’s better to do it that way than ruin other people’s lives."

Skipping over to Bishop, I looked up at him, the smile disappearing from my face. "Make sure you know which side your bread is buttered on. I’d hate for something to happen simply because you couldn’t recognize good from bad."

Bishop chuckled and rolled his eyes, even as he stroked my head. "Got it," he assured me. "I’ll keep your monster safe."

"Smart," I chuckled back. "Because so far, I think I have been rather tame when it comes to dealing with people. Don’t make me snap. I don’t think it will be good for anyone’s health."

"Is now a bad time to say that you are really cute when you are threatening me?" snickered Bishop. "Technically, I am your big brother if you go by hierarchy."

"You wish," I sneered. "I was around before the angels. You can call me Big Sister if you want..."

Sliding past him, I turned around to blow a kiss to Pride before snapping my fingers and disappearing. The powers of the Devil were really convenient sometimes. At least now I no longer had to walk anywhere. It was as simple as making a wish.

"Big brother?" muttered Pride, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Bishop.

"She’s a fraction of my size," he shrugged. The indentation that the bullet created was already healed, and the man was in a surprisingly good mood. It was like everything that had been weighing him down for the last hundred years and up and disappeared. He was lighter than ever before, and he knew who to thank for that. "Of course, I’m her BIG brother."

Pride snorted as he turned his attention back to Alicia. "Don’t expect me to call you brother-in-law. Not until you are vetted by all of us."

"How about I let you kill someone. Will that get me on your good side?"

"Possibly," snickered Pride as he smiled at Alicia. "Now, Alicia. We need to talk. You’ve upset my wife, and I really can’t let that stand."

"You talk a good game," sneered the woman, the gun still in her hand. "But that doesn’t mean that you can do shit. In case you haven’t noticed. I’m the one with the gun."

"In case you haven’t noticed, guns don’t kill demons," smiled Pride.

"You’re right," agreed Alicia, surprising everyone. "Demons kill demons. Bishop, I command you to kill this demon before ripping your own head off."

Unleashing all of her Spirit power, Alicia couldn’t help but smile brightly as she watched Bishop grab his head in pain. Fighting her commands were always painful. The weak didn’t bother, and the strong... well, they might hold out for a few minutes, but even they bent the knee.

"Silly little girl," purred Pride as Bishop smiled brightly at Alicia. "Spirit powers won’t work if I am around."
